I LOVE this video! Thank you for this! Curious if you've covered the following question in any videos... If you want to use a marble ledge instead of tile inside the niche or window ledge (you know, to avoid grout!) what's the best way to do this? Also, what about adding trim like Schluter or bullnose to frame in tiles?

Yes, you can use the material painter to customize what material is used. Oftentimes users will use the 3D solid or soffit tool to create the frames.

Is there a way to NOT account for materials in the materials list if they are underneath a shower pan? If you a paint the floor of a room with tile, for example, it currently calculates the square footage of the room. But you wouldn't put tile underneath a shower pan. For now my work around is to use floor material regions and shape them how I need them. But I was wondering if there's a way to do this automatically :)

I am not aware of an automatic way to do this currently, but we appreciate you reaching out. I would be happy to suggest this as a feature.

I was not that concerned with materials for the past 10-15 yrs since CA has been around. I figured it’s about time. Been doing 99% of it in PS. So thanks for getting me hooked. 👍

    Hi there,
Great job in explaining material specs. I'm currently working on a special floor pattern that consists of two different mosaic patterns. How would would I be able to create a fill pattern to show this tile on the floor plan? Thank you!

Thanks for the video - can you show how to create a custom countertop material? WHen I do it the I ended up with something that looks like it is just big squares of granite put together instead of a big slab.

      This video may help www.chiefarchitect.com/videos/watch/38/creating-custom-materials-and-colors.html
Selecting Stretch to Fit will eliminate the lines that are being created by your pattern repeating. It will stretch the pattern though, so your other option is to make sure your image is edited such that a line does not form when it repeats. This can be done in external photo editing software.
