I watched several videos on CA's website and tried building in the trial version only to become somewhat frustrated. After watching this video, can see why the program isn't doing what I want. I think CA should make this the first video someone watches when they download the trial. Thank you for the detailed instruction. :)
Kelly, your teaching style is thorough and well paced. My WordPress students often complain I talk too quickly...lol, Chief Architect is is quite remarkable as well. It is stunning how much you can do with it. Question, how did you do the grab hand trick to reposition the plan? I can not figure that out. 🙂

You are welcome to use this video and have a Home Designer program. However, there are more tools and features in the Chief Architect line so in some areas of the videos, it may not be applicable to your program.

I do not have a 'Bearing wall' option shown when I open the wall in the center of this design at ~ 34:31 Is there a default setting that activates/deactivates this functionality?

Thank you for the kind words! You can click and hold your mouse scroll wheel to pan around or on the left toolbar, there is an option "Pan Window"

When I did a manual dimension it showed the room and the outside dimensions for that room

Biggest difference from x13 and x12 is that CA got woke and don't call it a master bath any more like they do here.

Can i export an object as OBJ or Collada for another 3d software?
The 3D model file types you can export are .dwg, .dxf, .3ds, and .stl.
