Each string of your steel guitar feels as if it connects to a string of my heart. . . and this tune is tugging almost painfully at those heartstrings. The memories which you are invoking are bittersweet. . .
I agree absolutely. Doug' s music is for each love feeling heart. Sometimes it makes overflowing happiness, sometimes it makes sad. Anyway, I love his music and don't want to miss it. 😇👍💃🕺
Love this Doug, the words come flowing back when I hear music like this. Suddenly this brings back those old time feelings. Thank you so much for keeping these great songs alive. Many blessings to you!
Sir, you have an amazing gift! Our family used to race horses years ago and we always listened to Country music on the radio. Listening to you play just brought back some good memories while working with my stepdad and my mother and my brother taking care of a barn full of beautiful horses that we loved and cared for daily. Thank you for your excellent playing and sharing this with us all. Liked and subscribed. ❤
In the 1950's when I was a young boy, I listened to among others Hank Williams. Darn if you don't do justice and more to his music. And, listening to your renditions, boy oh boy am I glad I never purchased and attempted to play pedal steel. This is stated with the understanding I was not much more than a hack with several guitars. On the other hand, if one doesn't try anything then one doesn't learn anyting and I have learned a lot in my near 85 years. Thank you for the wonderful music you're sharing here.
Wow, I have no idea why this showed up in my feed but I'm glad it did. I'm 46, been playing guitar most my life, and that pedal steel just still sounds like magic to me. You sir, are damn good...
I'm 51 and a huge fan of classic country. I'm just a baby. I love the lonesome wine / sound of the steel guitar. I can replay a song over and over and crank the volume up at the steel guitar part. Every once in a while somebody in modern music uses a steel guitar in a song and they use it properly. It can be haunting and calming. Thank you for posting your music. Your goooood. Very good. Makes me want to jump in the drivers seat of and old cab over truck and head off down the highway. Watching from Kelowna British Columbia Canada. 👍🇨🇦🍻
I was looking for a certain instrumental song tonight and came across your channel. Your music is wonderful. It reminds me of when I was a kid in the 60s and my parents would watch country and western bands on TV. Steel guitar really gave them a distinctive sound. Your music brings back some good memories. Thanks for sharing with us.
Love hearing this instrument , it takes the place of the oohs and Ahs of backup singers adds fills and lead guitar. ✌️❤️🤗 You blow it outta the water Doug
Wow just brilliant doug .Hank Williams song can't help it if ime still in love with you .keep those steel guitars songs rolling along doug .gerry Liverpool UK 🎶🎵🎤🎙🎸🎹🎸🥁🎸 🍺🍺
Wonder how magnificent it would be for a master that you are to do old hymns. Maybe even some BACH. But these you post are breathtaking and take me back a ways.....THANKS DOUG !!
Wow...oh my goodness...this is such great playing. I am 58 now and since my 20s I was searching for a pedal steel guitar, but here in South Africa you are lucky if you can find a broken one at a 2nd hand store. I found 2 through the years (in bad condition) but lost both when my house was robbed. I still wish to play this instrument before I'm too old. I watched this video about 15 times today 😂😂😂. Thank you.
Wow! looks like a new guitar? In any case. you nailed this "classic oldie", to the "nth" degree to "the 4 Corners of the World". Love it Doug. Thank you kind Sir for sharing innate gifts from heaven with us. ❤🤠
Hello Carl, I'm so glad you enjoyed it. This pedal steel is an Encore, it's a lightweight PSG. It's built on a student model frame, but it has a professional changer and pro mechanism on the underside. Be well. 😊
The way you interpret this beautiful song makes it sound like the instrument is actually singing the lyrics of the tune .you are truly a remarkable musician Mr Beaumere . Dave herbst southafrica .
yes it i good therpaty for the heart and soul very relaxing go to u tube download Tony Browne Wizard of Oz song that Judy garland sang you will love it Doug is very good too he playes lap steel too
What a nice beginning of Tuesday. Sitting here planning the day and listen to this nice music. My feet begin to moove by themselves. 👏👏👏🌟🤗🤗🤗💕🌻🌻🌻🍀 Thank you Doug. 🙏
Love these old Hank Williams songs! Thanks for continuing to do them! Hard to believe most of his songs are over 70 years old and are still being played. :)
I've played a Zum Stage One Doug, they're so well built, sound great and so much lighter than than usual. You nailed that old Hank Williams classic on it, one his best songs IMHO. Keep them coming Doug.
Thanks again! This steel is actually an Encore, similar to the Stage One, both built by Doug Earnest. I think the Stage One has a pull-release changer, and the Encore has an all-pull changer, triple raise, triple lower, 3 x 5.
I absolutely love this instrument. I must have one. I know there will be quite a learning curve from my regular guitar to it, but I'm willing to learn. Thank you for the inspiration.
This steel sounds really good. How does it compare to the mullen? Man, I wish I could play one of these beautiful things. You do a really good job Doug.
Thanks! The Mullen is a $4500 pedal steel and the Encore is about $1900 and is more lightweight, not as many frills as the Mullen. They both sound great. I’d say the Mullen sounds a little more mellow, in a good way. They both sound very good. I’ve always believed that 95% of the sound is in the player, not in the guitar. 😉
I believe that. You really make it sound great. I really admire a good steel player. You make it look so easy but I know how "making it look easy" goes. I think the reason you make it sound so good is that you enjoy playing those things. How many steels do you have anyway? I've seen you playing so many. Great job as usual Doug.@@dougsteel
Wow mighty fine there Butter Man. Boy those runs sounded oh so good, kind of makes ya sit up in your seat when you hear ya doing it. Nice job Doug, nice job.
Thanks Doug. Loved the tone on this pedal steel... very traditional sounding to my ear. But I always like your renditions more than the original masters. Gord

I don’t think there’s anything prettier than the sounds of a steel guitar. When I go to Heaven I hope I can play one there.
😊😊👍👍
