This sword's wrapping is REALLY tied to it's functionality. With no hushou (handguard) to speak of, if the wrap doesn't have large nodes to maintain weapon retention, it is very easy for one's hand to slide up onto the blade. The shorter models don't have the issue as badly, but the longer models, I think the wrap is extremely important to it's functionality and the safety of the weilder. Great video, Sifu Kuttel, love hearing your take on these models! 👍⚔🙏
Usually, after the basic stances, punches, blocks and kicks are learned, students learn Siu Jin Kuen, Siu Pau Kuen and Jau Sang Ma. You can see the curriculum online at: plumblossom.net/ChoyLiFut/ranking.html

Sifu! May I ask, what are the Choy Li Fut forms that a complete beginner would learn.

Thanks I was trying to work out if it was my eyes
great grand father of Katana and Geum (ancient korea sword)
Looks like a tennis serve pronation except beginners can easily get an haircut
Is it an optical illusion or are u using the wrong side of the sword and resting the blade against your body
It has a recurve so it looks opposite to most other sabers. If the blade edge were on my body I’d be bleeding 😅
👍🏿🤠👍🏿
