Rainwater dirt leveling

I'm checking out how well i did manually leveling the Japanese Courtyard. The puddles never lie. They are a perfect visual aid to determine where i need to add a little soil here and there to get everything close then i'll add stone dust that can be screeded with a long straight edge piece of magnesium stock for leveling concrete. Then i can add the Finish white sand to about two to three inches deep. I had thought i might add a layer of white landscaping fabric but now i'm not so sure i'll need it.
