I was hoping she would somehow make it to the Olympics! She really looks fantastic physically, but mentally, not quite there after all that time off. I really like her.

We were looking forward to seeing Gabby compete. It's so sad, but she looks fantastic. Remember, she may shock us all and compete in 2028. That would be amazing. Do not count her out. Age is nothing but a number; it's all mental.

It's too bad. Wish her luck. She will be 32yo by the next summer Olympics. She might have already hit her prime but I guess we will see.

Sanne & Vanessa are competing in Paris. Both are older than 32. Gabrielle still has the skills so why not? She's not ready for Paris so wise of her to pull out. I'm proud of her for choosing to keep going!

@@ctruth6185 True. Each person hits their prime at different ages. Maybe she still has time as I don't think she was practiced enough to get Olympic level this year.

Well if she's 32, well prepared, well trained and competition hardened her results will be far better than what she's shown in 2024. She needs to enter competitions and needs to work on strengthening her competitive mentality & develop her mental focus. If she isn't willing to work with a sports psychologist, Gabby will have another failed comeback. She needs a different training method & atmosphere. A place, where she can cross train to work on acrobatics, flexibility, strength or work with dancers for an extended period. Wonder if she prefers training with kids or adults? Does Gabby prefer training alone or with others? Did she prefer to train early in the morning, in the evening or late at night? WOGA wasn't the best choice for her. She might find cross training rhythmic gymnastics, trampoline, tumbling or contortion more suited to her ambitions? Gabby's occupation is gymnast & Olympic athlete. After she's done competing she can be a judge, choreographer, coach or go back to school training for something else. She has another book in her after this experience.

@@ctruth6185Sanne’s been an event specialist for about a decade. Vanessa’s a little unusual in that she’s still got the bounce but it’s a lot easier to qualify for the Italian team than the US team.

She would not have qualified even if 100% healthy. Sometimes you just have to accept that it‘s over and move on.

Why are the life choices of Gabrielle Douglas even remotely of concern or importance to you? You don't control her life or pay her bills. Don't you know this? Oh well, I just told you, so shut up. You're a one trick pony. You ain't the stuff.

That's a lie. Just like she supposedly "had covid" and couldn't compete in the core classic. So now... After basically giving up and literally walking out of the last meet, because she couldn't do her bar routine, she claims she can't compete due to "an injured ankle".... How convenient. Just face the facts - she quit, she gave up. All that big talk about how she was going to come back and be the leader for the Paris Olympics.... All the publicity she put on, interviews she gave, etc.... Don't yall see how it was ALL AN ACT?!? She just wanted her name out there again; maybe she actually THOUGHT she would give Simone a run for the money, but we all know that's never gonna happen. And although she WAS a gymnastics champion, now all she'll be remembered for is this bag of lies and being A QUITTER.....!!!!!

Don't be so sour. You don't know if she has an injury or not. Gymnastics is an incredibly hard sport in which to make a comeback. When you get out there and try to do what these ladies do, then you'll have room to criticize.

She’s pushing 30 and she gave it her best shot. Bugger off, limp sausage.

There's no way she would have come CLOSE to Simone. Even at her best, she was never as consistent or her routines as difficult. It's just the truth. Simone is an athletic savant and no one can deny it
