- *WATCH IN 1080p! • NIN - The Day The Worl... *
September 10th, 2009. The Wiltern Theater, Los Angeles California. History will remember this as the 830th live performance of Trent Reznor's genius Nine Inch Nails.
Their 830th and, incidentally, final live performance. Although Trent Reznor has vowed to continue making music, whether it be in the vessel of Nine Inch Nails or something completely untried, he has stated time and again that he is done with the live aspect of Nails.
This, the Wiltern performance, was not to be their last but second to last. Because Trent took ill he had to rescedule two of the LA shows, making the Wiltern Theater the last venue Nine Inch Nails would ever play.
So by some stroke of luck/fate/something, I found myself on a plane bound for LA (for the second time in a week) to take witness to this, the most anticipated, and yet dreaded, final NIN performance.
The show was, predictably, the most amazing show I've ever seen. According to antiquit.com, "Reznor and company played thirty-eight songs, in four sets spanning over 3 hours, the longest show the band has ever played." Guests included Gary Numan, Mike Garson, Dillinger Escape Plan, Atticus Ross and Dave Navarro.
This show was the epitome of epic, as you'll be witness to from these videos.
And who knows, maybe it won't be the end at all...
I am from the future. This didn't end up being the final NIN show. They are now better then ever, on their recent tour they played Happiness In Slavery again, and played And All That Could Have Been and The Perfect Drug!
Rob Hoyt I was at the Red Rocks show where they played the Perfect Drug live for the first time! Easily one of the most amazing experiences of my life!
@iCREATEmyFATE That comment was from a year ago so he is from the future-past
@iCREATEmyFATE yes, pizza comes in a tube now.
The future is just.
I shit my pants.
"No more touring, not a chance."
Ha.
the biggest troll
Fragile really stood the test of time, and it just could be most inspirational and pure_NIИ record.
Trent is such a good guy. He never fails to thank the crew and fans for NIN's success. Do modern musicians do this?
That’s hilarious that they started this song and stopped it 5 seconds later joking around and then goes back into it. Trent is the greatest.
I’m just now discovering “The Fragile” in 2022 and the second time I heard this track I literally lost it. I couldn’t explain the emotions I was feeling.
It hits really hard, right?
Sounds like a rock version of A Warm Place
It’s soooo good, I used to hate this band because of all the kids who wore the shirts were total assholes, but I’ve grown to love this band
i think he played this song last because he knew he was probably going to go on tour again with them...WHAT A TROLL!
+Anthony Rager Either way, this wasn't even the last song.
He lied. I saw him last year and thank god. It was a great show! Toured with soundgarden.
I saw him on the Tension tour in 2013 with AFI. Would see again. The crowd was insane.
Soundgarten *cries*
The live version of this song is saw raw and awesome. Almost celebratory and triumphant ibstead of depressing lol. He isright to aknowledge his awesome musicians.
This is genuinely one of my fav NiN songs, just so dark and brooding, love it
Man.. i only got to see them live once. Glad to hear they will be back this year and 2014.. these videos send chills down my spine, so incredible.
I'm so glad he went back on the statement that he's done doing live tours...4 years later
i'm so glad this wasn't the final NIN show and i got to see them at the O2 in 2014!
The best man on Earth. Amazing.
NIN is the BEST rock band from the '90's through the 2000's ! 🎧🎤🎸
my banda definitivamente. nine inch nails. es lo maximo. I LOVE NIN
Robin Finck though.
Just pure awesomeness!
X100
The 3 guitar boys
I get goose flesh every time I watch this
I think you meant every time you FEEL this...
starts at 3:20
Szilveszter H. Thanks
Like you'd wanna miss Trent thanking the crew :P
love this version!
So perfect show 😍
This Year, he tours again. But the words hurts anyway. I'll be there someday at the last concert of trent reznor & the Nine Inch Nails Project. Thank you for giving us a chance to see you one day for the last time again
I wonder what his follow band members think of him from Option 30, Exotic Birds, Slam Bambo and the others I don't know.
How many hearts broke when Trent said no more tours
That is a signature NIN ending of a song. Get a good groove going, and just when you expect it to keep on going, The End.
His Concerts R the Best!!!
2 days after I finnished boot camp here in Sweden 2009. Damn, I'm glad it's here on YT!
Long live genius Trent :x
Last show (for awhile)
He has his own band The New Regime aswell, where he's playing all the instruments and sings.
ahh i just want it to keep going at the end there
oh my god, i love it ... so fu**ing great
Epic
This is so fucking amazing.
Wow!!! they are awsome!
Thanks for the post, seen NIN many times, loved it when josh freese was drumming. What an amazing musicians, I am so glad he is still alive!!!
Love your face forever Robin 😍💙♥️!!!
This one's for the Crew.., Yeah!
I'm in awe. That was masterful. NIN knew what they were doing. Fuck that was amazing. After second viewing: damn. son.
This is fucking GREAT! Awesome sound quality. Thanks for the post..
Pretty good sound for this video. Thanks for posting. Will check out some of your other vids.
Hi! I´m spanish, could anyone write me what he's saying, please?? Thanks a lot!!
He's thanking his band and his crew. He also says he's done touring as Nine Inch Nails but he'll keep making records. (Joder su madre. Tú inglés está bien.)
fuckin amazing
Prepair for the arrival!
I see NIN on tour as we speak Feb 2022
Shouldn't sadden you. Josh Freese has worked on pop albums too. You should encourage their expansion into any creative venture they want to pursue.
Drowning yourself in almost all genres rewards you in more ways you can imagine.
Cassius Allen freese is a session drummer anyway. played with everyone from blink 182 to a perfect circle and nin. he's probably the best session drummer ever.
*narrator voice* But it wasn't the last NIN concert, not by a long shot.
how can this have only 1.2k likes
nine inch nails will be touring mid this year on into 2014.
"Can you hear me?"
It is.
It turns out to be the last with this incredible line up…Others followed.
🤟🤟
9/10/2009 was my 19th birthday...I should have been here. :/
This song FINALLY starts as a guitar circle jerk ( kids, please do NOT look up "circle jerk" ). I am okay with it.
It saddens me the drummer is now in Angels & Airwaves.
Thank god it wasn’t ❤
I bet Ilan Rubin was thinking he just lost the coolest job ever, it’s good he didn’t.
Trent fucking Reznor
good he thanked his crew :) he should have said sorry for punching them.
Thankfully NOT their 'final' anything.
*Final* nope.
