I was able to learn some interesting facts about chainsaw man and the man behind the series in this video, I can't wait to see how part 2 will expand on the series as a whole. I love how many of his one shots have more complex, non-generic sounding names (There Where Two Chickens in the Garden, Listen to Me Normally, When I Woke Up I had Become a Girl Disease, etc) and then his serializations are just like: "Fire Punch" and "Chainsaw Man". It worked out though. You can't deny a name like Chainsaw Man grabs attention with how blunt it is.
I'd assume its a good marketing approach, the long ass descriptive names were born from japanese youth usually just glancing through titles untill something grabs their attention when chosing light novels to read, oneshots don't really become all that recognizable so this probably works out similarly meanwhile serialised manga with the goal of a long run would likelly do best with simple, recognizable name thats easy to say, translate and remember
