Jlo started working with Tommy Motolla after Mariah switched labels. Jlo and Tommy stole Mariah's song before she had time to release it and ruined her entire era. If someone stole from me, I wouldn't like them either. Especially if that person was significantly less talented and didn't put in half the effort that I put in. Mariah takes her music very seriously, so for someone as gimmicky as Jlo to come along and steal her music was a slap in the face.

I can't believe the comments I'm reading on this page. People actually trying to say J-Lo is more talented, more classy, and a better person than Mariah Carey. I can't believe the comments I'm reading on this page. People actually trying to say J-Lo is more talented, more classy, and a better person than Mariah Carey. Spoken like people that really have not done their homework. I ove Mariah more then jlo but its not jlo's fault. she did this to Mariah once but had no idea that firecracker was a Mariah thing. She is just a girl that shows up to the studio and has thing given to her because she's beautiful. Its how the universe works. Her intentions were not about stealing from Mariah's framework. The majority of the music industry acts just show up and speak/sing into a microphone without knowing the inner workings of the studio and label heads.

the only thing jlo stans have to praise her for is her body and all the face fillers. "how is this woman so old!!" face fillers. face fillers hand fillers face lifts tummy tucks fat transfers more fillers etc. what else is there to her? she can't sing. she can't act. her dances are tired especially for a woman almost 50. she's trying so hard to cling on to her youth especially with that backup dancer opportunist she's dating. mariah still doesn't know her.

I actually think she is a pretty fantastic actress, not everything she does is amazing, but I think she brings a very realistic approach to her acting. It doesn't seem like she has to practice or anything. Obviously she doesn't have the same pipes as Mariah, Mariah can sanggg! But I don't think I'm willing to degrade her hard work because I just feel like being hateful.

The thing that pissed people off particularly Mariah fans back in the day, was the fact that they were compared to each other in terms of celebrity status but in reality have nothing alike apart from being women born around the same time from the same general area of NY who both were considered “exotic” which is honestly horrendous, and they frequented similar circles for a small period of time.
Also the fact that they both recorded music meaning they were similar pissed people since the process that they took to record music was extremely different than each other

it wasn't stolen it was given to jlo and it was a success and that caused Mariah to have a melt down and go crazy... the song and sample was owned and created by the record company and in the end it's up to them who gets it dahling
