Lots of guys skip and cut their videos but then we, the audience dont get to see the work done and I lose confidence. So thanks for showing me EVERYTHING so i can see the actual work!!!!
Have you had problems with the high ethanol fuel wrecking the oil seals? I’m building a 79 P200, so basically the same engine. I was thinking of using the BGM viton seals.
I have not seen the seals being ruined by the ethanol but I haven't owned anything long enough to have to rebuild it twice. I also use Viton seals if they are available.
@@smallborecorps Thanks for the response. One more question. On the clutch side bearing there is a groove in the case to hold the seal in place. Have you used the seals with a metal edge or rubber edge? I know the rubber on the outside edge of the seal is for the groove, but in have seen a lot of people use the metal seals (Malossi). Any thoughts?
@@user-vk5rs5qi6l I have used both and either work fine. The metal ones do feel like they seat into the case better though. In the Fireball rebuild series. You see me install a Malossi viton seal with the metal lip. I’m not aware of an actual groove in the case for the seal to rest though.

Your Rally case should have the groove
@@user-vk5rs5qi6l took a closer look at it today and you are right. There is a little ledge for the seal to sit on.
