Thank you my new fridge is up against the wall and I couldn’t slide into the space because there is a door to the right. All I need to do is take off one side of trim on the door frame and all should be well.

Had some “professional” job and they didn’t do the removal properly… do you have a video on how to repair the wall paper ? Is it spackle, caulk, or wider molding?
Thanks learning a lot from you… I need to mellow out a bit -working on that too! 😁

    That's great. Thanks.
But what about the other side where the trim is only an inch to couple inches away from the wall.
I can't even get an exacto knife in-between the wall and trim

    • @TheFunnyCarpenter
      @TheFunnyCarpenter  4 місяці тому +1

It’s likely that if it’s that close to the wall it’s not caulked.

The left side of my door is just a few inches from a wall, just like the wall in your video. How do you remove the molding when there is no room for the pry tool? is it okay to pry the molding from the opposite side?

Great content, Funny Carpenter…. When re-installing new casing, do you recommend using a little glue for the mitre joints?
I’ve recently changed (upgraded) our baseboards, and now will change the old, and much thinner door casing. Your advice would be most appreciated. Cheer from Ottawa 🇨🇦

I do recommend glue for the mitre joints. I actually like to glue the together on the ground with a 2 part CA glue. ua-cam.com/video/lbehAfvyRU0/v-deo.html

In fact, their's another door like this. It looks like the previous tenants were renters who kept their dog in the bathroom. There are lots of scratch and bite marks. Thanks 4 this video! And you're everyone's neighbor as you've given us access and guided us through removing a door trim.

You make it look so easy. I'll pick up a little red bar.
Question: I want to change the way my closet door opens(it swings into worlds smallest walk- in closet). I'm guessing I should take the casing off and then take the jamb off and reverse it?? Suggestions?
It's next to impossible to get help with small jobs so I'm trying to do it myself. any other handy tools that might help?

I need to remove some parts of a door frame, but not all.
There's a big hole, and it's right in the corner.
Should I use a reciprocated saw to cut only parts of the door frames trim?
Also , do I need to spray some insulation into the gaps, first?

In some cases there is no rrom to insert a pry bar between sheet rock and outer casing. Any tips? Special tools?

@@TheFunnyCarpenter thank you... One more question... Any tool you can recommend to cut the caulking between casing trim and sheet rock on outer edge when there no room to insert a regular box cutter or cutting blade. In this paricular case 90 degree wall within one inch spacing away from casing outer edge
