    Have you ever used resin on your clay earrings? How did they turn out? We love the shiny look they give to polymer clay earrings!

    Don’t drill from the back (side without uv) because when it goes through to the Uv side it pushes it away from the clay, causing the separation and air bubble under the Uv

      I have it still happening when drilling from the front. Maybe it's the cure time that's affecting it because it doesn't happen every time.

    Thank you so much. This was a great video. I wanted to hear your solution to shrinkage! When it comes to two part, epoxy resin the hardening has nothing to do with UV. Therefore, it does not need to be in the sunlight at all in fact, putting it in the sunlight can damage and yellow, two-part resin, there is a big issue of shrinkage when it comes to two-part resin, so you always have to do a second layer with that so with your pricing adjustment, you’re a spot on! Also, you are very lucky to not have had shrinkage so much, and the mat that you are suggesting is perfect, because all resin pulls to the center when it is curing, that’s how so many resin artist like myself use different colors and resin and techniques to create three dimensional designs. We rely on the fact that all resin poles in word I have a resin cure machine because the most important aspect for two-part resin is heat and I have a machine that I use to cure the earrings because with such a small amount of resin so thin, it’s not able to create as much heat as bigger pieces will because they can hold the heat better! For Bubbles another quick fix is to spritz it with isopropyl alcohol, especially if they’re just using it for earrings, and I was taught a trick with resin that won’t cure that stays tacky you can spray it with WD-40 and let it dry in the sunlight with the WD-40 on it I’ve had 50-50 luck with that! I think Tj diction is a great company especially because they have a two part very fast caring resin, but that one will have more air bubbles than uv resin because it doesn’t need to be stirred . I am a huge admirer of your clay work! I’ve been working with resin for years and I’m allergic to it, so I also wanna thank you for being vigilant and telling people to wear goggles wear a respirator do not touch the UV resin it can burn peoples skin to second degree on a sunny day it’s dangerous stuff and I’m very happy that you went over all of that! I’d love to see some videos of your process on your earrings, always so glad when you comment or show a piece in our group, you are very inspiring! I agree that it is worth using resin and I like your technique of the brush on small layer of resin for embedded cutters, that was such a brilliant idea you had! I’ve been working with resin for years, but clay I am only six months and and have a ton to learn! So I would love to see more instructional videos by you! You’re very talented! And super adorable much love Erin Bochan sorry for any typos

    That thing where the resin fills itself in is referred to as self-leveling. Also, when using the 2-part epoxy resin, it cures faster in sunlight but cures just as well in regular lighted rooms or even in the dark. I'm in Detroit, MI and we don't have the luxury of too many bright sunny days in fall, winter and early spring.

    I work with gel nails, and Uv resin is the same. Lifting occurs when the seal is broken, if you’re drilling a hole doing a thin layer of gel in the hole will help seal it. Or making a hole before resin

    Vielen Dank für das tolle Video. 🥰 Ich arbeite selbst auch mit Epoxidharz und UV Harz. Wenn mir Harz runtergelaufen ist, nehme ich es mit dem Skalpell so gut wie möglich weg. Danach schleifen und eventuell noch eine dünne Schicht Klarlack oder UV Harz mit Pinsel an den Seiten auftragen.😊 Wenn es mit dem Skalpell nicht mehr funktioniert weil es zu hart ist, dann nehme ich den Dremel und schleife es einfach runter.😉
    Liebe Grüsse Katja ☺️

    FYI epoxy resin doesn't need sunlight. The reason it's 2 parts is because when you mix 2 different liquids and it causes the chemical reaction to start the cure process.

    • @jazzpear8877
      @jazzpear8877 2 роки тому +2

      Using ultra thin layers, a powerful curing lamp, having a nice and cool room, keeping a dehumidifier nearby, and being super careful about how much heat I apply to the resin has all helped. I also measure the temp of the resin and turn off the lamp if it gets over 120F. I know that's kinda complicated but it's better than ruining a good piece of clay with bad resin!!
