I love caning. There is something magical about taking a package or few of clay and create a picture inside. I adore caning with soufflé. It doesn’t get sticky when it gets soft so it’s still easy to work with. But I rarely ever reduce for at least 24 hours unless I really freeze it hard then let it come back to thawed but firm. Your tile cane turned out very pretty. I have a weakness for all things delft or delft reminiscent.
Thank you so much for sharing your talent!!! I'm extremely grateful I came across your tutorial...(after two months)...your the first artist to show us that the next to last reduction should be cut into 4 pieces!!!! I actually gave up and thought I would try just " one more time"! Thank you!!!😊
Suppose you used white clay for a kiln instead of polymer clay. If you mix glaze (color) into the clay, you will have clay of different colors. If you make the canes bigger, you could make full size dinner plates and use them in the kitchen for eating breakfast, lunch, and/or dinner.
Have you ever made a cane before? What did it look like? What are your favorite colors to use? Are you going to try making a cane now?
It’s unbelievable! I can’t understand how do you came up with those ideas 💡
isn't she so talented?
Omg.ur talent is not from this world.....so soothing to see the whole process..thnku for such great tutorial

Really pretty
This was really informative, I have a clay extruder and it didn't occur to me to use it for caning purposes.
Yes! Using them for canes is a great way to utilize the extruder. Glad you found it helpful!

a neat idea! not sure if it would work in practice as I am not a potter, but a cool thought anyways!
