Cross county jumping was the most fun Ive ever had on a horse but only beginner novice in the US. Those jumps scare the hell out of me! He says , "You dont want to go flying alone". Laughed so hard:) Great video!!!
That was very interesting! Looks like a really tough course event to qualify for so I expect the horses and riders are very experienced. Happy Birthday Jesse.
Very interesting video Jesse, I appreciate that you both walked us through most of the course and explained things as you went. I’ve never seen this kind of event. Takes lots of skill for the rider and the horse and great demonstration of a partnership between rider and horse. Thank you to Pontus also.
The fences are impressive and the course long and difficult. A demanding discipline for both rider and horse. All the best to the friendly @pontushugosson. Thanks to Jesse for this awesome video 💥💙
@@colleen113do you ? The only way to find that out is by getting the horse to jump, if it clears it then it’s within “it’s limit”, if it fails, falls and breaks a leg and has to be put down then “it’s passed its limit”, that’s a hell of a price to pay for amusing the rider wouldn’t you say ??
If you look at it from that perspective, then yes, it is an extremely high price to pay for one's amusement. Walking a horse in a straight line can also be a high price to pay!
@@colleen113 probably as well as you do or a little more. I just don't think it is a humane thing to do to your horse. Pushing it to its limits is dangerous as well as brutal. End result possible fatal injury for what? Bragging rights
Jesse is the definition of horsemanship, always asking questions to expand his already expansive knowledge, I can't stand equestrians that think they know it all 🙊 we can always learn more 🙂❤
Jesse I’m worried about you, you have only put out 2 videos in the last 4 months 😮, you have bought no new horses even though a few years ago you expressed interest in getting a little Shetland mare to breed with your little stallion and hopefully attaining Gaio but if you can’t have Gaio you can always find your own Gaio 🙏 . . You seem to be coming more of Matts assistant filming all his videos and even lunging his new horse while he is away on one of his many projects rather than concentrating on building your own projects and future, please please please continue to build, follow and achieve your own dreams, we want to see many more videos from you about your training and preforming career, all the work on your new house and stables, and hopefully a new horse or two for yourself 🙏🙏🙏❤
I really hope he is not getting run down by some certain words( that can bring one confidence down) behind the scene, from the recent videos I have watched on the other channel he just seems different than from years ago,all the best Jesse ❤❤
The jumps look (and are) wide but if you look at how a horse jumps a single fence you can see the arc they make is already wide. So a jump like these tables are not that hard for a horse that is trained up to this level. The hard part is the technical lines between combinations of jumps. Having said that.. It takes many years to get a horse and rider trained to this level! Boekeloo is such an awesome course and the details through out the course are amazing!
Jesse when you seid you had done lower level eventing .have you ever looked at badminton grass roots horse trial . That is 90 cm or 100 cm that is on beforehand. Then it's the BIG thing the acharel badminton horse trails . Thank you for sharing your day . 👍👍👍👍😊😊😊😊😊 happy birthday Jesse .👍👍👍👍
Pontus Hugosson has a good eye for horse flesh. Nice horse. Next time can you ask how he judges the steps between the jumps, of course, this would vary for each horse and if they were getting tired it makes a difference. Quite a bit involved with eventing or I should say 3-day eventing with 3 different disciplines. Nice video.
The years of training for horse and rider to qualify for this level they have so much training involved its complexed and complicated theres a full team of vets traners sports therapy for both horse and rider the prep involved is vast and very hard work. To those who disagree these horses wouldn't jump this big if there heart wasn't in it this course has massive questions ❤
Interesting video. I was a little afraid at first because I thought you were going to do some jumps with him. I know that is a little naive, but I am unfamiliar with such events. Thank you .....
I wish there were more rules in eventing, there's often so much force used by the riders and mistakes can be deadly with these jumps. When the horse isn't relaxed, mistakes are more likely to happen
I'm sorry but I just dont feel this sort of course is necessary. Just to risky for horse and rider. Problem is people make the choice, a horse only does what it is told to do. What is the point of putting your horse through this.
You’ve got this keep your head up. Jesus Christ is always by your side. Have Faith, The Lord will always give you Strength. Trust in the Lord for he will make things happen all in time
A great cross over!! I've followed you both for quite a while and also love eventing but never been to Boekelo so this was a brilliant watch for me. Well done for getting round with Zin Fire this time @pontushugosson, next time for the win 🙂
I was sitting on an unfamiliar horse once; he was standing next to a fence, and he spooked and went straight over a 5-foot fence, sideways! I think these horses a very capable, especially when trained for jumping and endurance.
Jumping is NOT abusive. Any animal association with human can be cruel and abusive. You cannot FORCE a horse to do cross country because you both die of not totally into it. Most event horses hate the dressage and love cross country. You watch horse racing, hunters, pleasure sports, even western (especially western). You've obviously never seen horses run flat out or jump a 6' fence from a standstill or seen a day old foal jump, leap, run and kick! To do this sport to you and the horse MUST be a true team, keen in the cross country! These horses LOVE it.
@@cindyl542No they don’t, the riders love it and project their likes onto the horse in order to justify this abuse. Horses untacked and left to themselves would never do this, what they would like do is to be in a field with other horses and eat grass. I’m ashamed to admit that when I was much younger I participated in Eventing.

Pontus is such a beautiful human he literally looked like a cardboard cut out of himself in that very first second 3:00 lol 😂
Those fences seem huge, very impressive. Thank you for showing us part of the course Jesse and Pontus!
That course was *brutal*! Huge jumps and steep drops. Hope everyone came out OK!🤞🏻
Hope your birthday was fabulous, Jesse!!! ❤🎉
Happy Birthday Jesse! ❤ 🎉 Thank you also for showing this impressive course and athlete - Pontus with his daughter was charming 💞
Such an intricate and difficult course and the planning and work that must go into this. It’s incredible.

What a crazy course and jumps! No way I could do this!! I wish Pontus all the best! He is a very nice guy!!!

Omg Pontus! Great content, so happy to see two of my favorite youtubers collab!
Thank you so much for this video Jesse.
crazy that horses have the endurance and stamina to make it through a course like this!!!!
Why push them to their limit😢

I notice Jesse, is so sweet with the baby, but furry babies are most interesting to him!!

Wat gaaf om te zien zeg! Ik vind eventing zo gaaf! Maar ben er zelf niet stoer genoeg voor😂. Leuk om zo ook een kijkje te nemen in dit hoge niveau.

Aghk I can't watch horses jumping these massive jumps. Not at all natural and just too much for their frames.
