Thank you so much. I found getting information a bit difficult and didn’t want to make the wrong decision so I wanted to share what I had learned along the way. In the end I guess you can’t really make a bad decision there as it’s all beautiful.
That was an awesome video and adventure. Thanks for bringing us along. WOW Allan gives out great info, too bad we don’t hear it directly from him! 🤣🤣🤣 Can’t wait for your next videos! Have fun.
Alan isn’t always up for being on camera. I’ve learned that I choose to do it but not everyone around me wants to do it all the time. So if he’s not feeling it that’s ok.
@@ayngelina well tell him, it’s not alright either us. We see you as a team. You know like Laurel and Hardee. Burns and Allen, What would Carson had been w/o Mc Mahon? No you tell Allan, he’s a public figure now. And thus, he is contractually obligated to say a few kind words, every episode! 🤣🤣🤣🤣
That was maybe six months ago I think and I still talk about the colour of the water there compared to what I’ve seen in other parts of South East Asia. I’m actually hoping to go back in April to explore more of that coast.
So beautiful and peaceful. I went there last year. But imo, Bohey Dulang in Sabah is the most beautiful island in Malaysia but you need to fight your way there because limited amount of tourists can visit per day against tourist from China 😅
New Perhentians is ranked 2/10 to old perhentians. There were only about 10 beach chalets in Long Beach. There were no 2 stinky seaweed on the two sides and just a few boats. There was very nice coral near the Jetty even there was a moray eels. Now Long Beach is horribly destroyed by too many speed boats . Murky sea bed , boiling water in the jetty area, dead coral, no more fish. And the other side of the island another Mariot resort is being built. Thats overwhelming. Teluk keke beach will soon be occupied by a resort. Talk to islanders to feel their disappointment to witness how concretize this beautiful gem has become
That is really sad to hear. I liked Coral Bay because it felt uncrowded and it was why we didn't go back to Long Beach at night as we weren't looking for a party. It did inspire me to see more of this coast though, if you have recommendations for other islands, areas I would love to hear them as I prefer more undeveloped areas that are keeping things sustainable.
@@Mr_Hewitts_Psych_Class the island is still too nice for budget travelers. I was just comparing the island itself 12 years ago. It's still worth a visit for short stay. I'm sad as now it's overcrowded with construction and boats. Nowadays you can't swim peacefully any more.
If you think perhentian kecil is expensive, the big island (besar) is more. I think it is subjective. For a westerner, it is cheap. For locals it is expensive. Another thing, you are right...go to the fishing village to stay.
What beautiful beaches! Where does the path you followed to the fishing village begin? Approximately how long did it take you to walk to the fishing village?
It started on Coral Bay, I show the part when we turn from the beach onto the trail and I think I mentioned how long they said it should take. We took longer so I could shoot video.
So I use the Sony ZV1 mark 2. But I also shoot so much with my iPhone 13 and my editor loves the footage. If you’re looking to create UA-cam videos I highly recommend the iPhone first. It will make things so much easier because you are familiar with how a phone works and the 15 shoots 4K 60fps. At some point if you’re making regular videos you could switch to a camera I like the Sony zv1 because it’s small and less intimidating taking to locals but honestly so many amazing UA-camrs just use their phone and on screen it looks fabulous.
thanks for your video. I'm going to Perhentian next month, I think Besut island. How many days are right to enjoy the islands: 5 nights 4 days do you think is a right time? And How long time from the island to the airport, if I book a flight at 3:40pm do you think it is ok ? thanks again for your video and your smiles Ciao from Italy
So thrilled to hear this is useful for you. We went for 4 nights and could have stayed longer to do day trips to Redang and other islands so I guess it depends on how much time you like to stay at the beach. I do think a 3:40pm flight might not work for you unless you take a private taxi as the last ferry is 5:30-6pm. We took the bus from KL and just stayed the night in town, there's lots of accommodation and then took a morning ferry.
@@ayngelina ciao thanks for your kind reply, I'm watching your other videos about Asia. They are very beautiful and you are very spontaneous and true. Bello ! I love Asia too, it's a place where I feel good, I feel at home, even if I always gladly return to my home in Italy, it's nice to leave, but it's also nice to come back. sorry for my bad English, before I ask you how long it takes to get from Perhentian to the airport, but question for my bad English wasn't clear. I am thinking of taking a Kota Bharo/KLM flight at 3:30pm, I'm asking you if you think it's possible to leave in the morning from the island and reach the airport in time for the 3:30pm flight? Grazie for your time and patience Ciao from Italy
Oh I love Italy, I have been 7 times, my great grandparents are from there. So yes! You can leave the island early morning to get to the airport no problem. Just ask your hotel to book the first tickets in the morning.
Just loved the vibe of these places! And your red swimsuit was cute - how many suits do you like to bring when you’re heading to beach trips? Also, interested in how you secure your passports, credit cards, etc, when you’re out for the day and have a little cabin like that? Collecting all the info on Malaysia, def on my short list! ❤
I travel carry on only and have one suit which is reversible, the other side is navy blue. I have a pair of jean shorts, black gym shirts, two tank tops, four dresses and pyjamas. It’s actually easier for me to travel with fewer clothes because there are less decisions to make and if I need something new I just pick it up on the road as clothing is inexpensive. As for passport, I don’t think anyone steals them anymore. With them being chipped it now it would be caught at the border. For ID outside I show a photo of my passport. This cabin has a locked door so I leave what I need inside and use travel insurance. Because I make videos I do have a lot of valuables but you can’t worry about theft so insurance is the way to go. If you have apartment or house insurance it also covers your belongings when you travel or just make sure your travel insurance covers both health and theft.

Alan has filled me in on the challenges between the two countries but I think a lot of places that are close with similar but not the same cultures experience this. As Canadians we have certain feelings about Americans. But Americans don’t really know enough about us to feel anything 🤣 joking…but not joking.

Besar is so much better, particularly the side where Tuna Bay is. There are much less boats and people, and all the snorkeling spots can be reached from the beach. So instead of paying 40 RM for the snorkeling trip, you can swim there every day for free!
@@ayngelina There is Redang island close by. It also has the Long Beach with lots of hotels, restaurants and bars. The snorkeling is quite good right from the beach, but it might be extremely crowded by the tourists.
