This was filmed early last week as reference for anyone wanting to see the red leaves in Kyoto! 🍁The leaves turned red a bit later than usual this year!
Well, 22:01 is wild … I’m originally from Caracas, and for 11-ish years I ate _arepas_ nearly every day! How bananas that you first tried our national dish in Japan, _pero ¡ojalá la disfrutaste!_
Was also in Osaka/Kyoto last last week yes the leaves were not in full autumn color but my friend who lived in Tokyo also said the leaves are a bit late to turn red because usually when it is already cold the leaves are already turn red or have fallen down. Still a marvel to see coming from South east asia
oh jeez , I miss Kyoto. It's bit unfortunate i no longer work as remote worker. I remember a year ago i still travel freely in Japan due to nature of my work. There one restaurant right after the exit of Bamboo forest in Arashimaya, the food is good Not oily , the soup / broth is super delicious and clear soup Me and my wife love it. I think I'll go back for another time when i quite my job and have a little travel all together
What a lovely experience! That's why I'll never avoid places people say are too crowded because you can always find your own things to do without too many people and still enjoy genuine human connections
awww what a delightful surprise with the home invite! so sweet! there's something about traveling alone where even I enjoy making random travel friends, and I'm usually pretty shy. so many pretty sights in this video... thanks so much, Sarah! such a lovely way to start my sunday~ 🍃🍁
I have no idea how Seerasan finds the time to make so much quality content in between organizing TC shoots. Wish she had a Patreon to help support it!! 👏👏👏
May I suggest something? With the 大阪 World’s Fair coming up, a step-by-step series devoted to helping people 1) get to 日本, 2) figure out where in 大阪 to stay, 3) get around 大阪, 4) find local yums to eat, 5) see the best parts of the Expo, and 6) figure out where else in 日本 to go, might be well received! I don’t think the world’s gotten excited about a World’s Fair since New York ‘64 or maybe Montreal ‘67 or Osaka ‘70, and it’d be great to see people get excited about something forward-looking again … perhaps you could help stir that up!
So cool you were able to find Musee Cafe, again. What an amazing invite to dinner…👏🏼 I feel like dango with green tea is the japanese version of tea and biscuits in the UK etal.
This is 100% going on my list for my 2025 trip! I went for Sakura earlier this year but I want to see the red leaves so I'll be back around October 2025 😍😍 Much love from Arizona 💜💜
Went to Kyoto for the first time during my recent visit to Japan, and I LOVED it. Thanks for much for sharing Kyoto content, Sarah, and inspiring me to visit!
23:12 Birds were like, lets make her vlog CINEMATIC! Loved that real life Zelda reference! hahaha In my imagination, I heard that game melody that's played when a new secret is found.
You always look so happy when you're in Kyoto, Sarah 🫶⛩️. Every place that you visited looked absolutely gorgeous 🥰. I love the Autumn 🍁 leafs. I was planning to come to Japan in 2025, but due to Expo, I'm going to delay it by a year (I'm devastated 😭). On the bright side, I can learn more Japanese 🍙🍡. Thank you for another excellent video 🫶
Tsuru (herons) are my favorite bird and find encouragement from their sightings. It was a hard day, so this video was just what I needed for so many reasons. Thank you! Take care!
I've been watching your videos for a long time and I felt compelled to comment on this one because you mentioned "Arepas", that's my country's national dish, I am from Venezuela but I live in Chile at the moment, I didn't imagine arepas existed in Japan, let alone that you would've loved them. It fills me with proud. Keep it up, and don't feed the monkeys. PS: Your videos are amazing, bye.
They’re delicious, wish more places served them! Glad I was finally introduced to them & will defs order them again if I ever see them on another menu 😍✨
I think your videos are releasing endorphins in me! :) Great, great video. I loved all the food places you chose and also the commentary. You have just become my favorite youtuber! The Curry Udon and all the mochi...I'll have to live vicariously through you till I get back there.. Thanks for taking us along!
It's always a great day when Seerasan drops a new video. I completely understand the need to find some places that are serene and quiet. May I say that you are looking fantastic in this video. =) Remember to keep smiling.
Japan looks its best in autumn in my opinion, also I can confirm that Yorkshire tea biscuit is the best tea out of them all being from the UK, shame you could not buy more of it at the time 😭
One thing that seems nice about living in Japan is there seems to be a lot to do town to town, without it being to hard to get there. If I lived there I’d be doing little weekend trips as often as possible. Here in Texas there just aren’t many unique things to do close to each other. Love your vlogs as always, the leaves are so pretty!
Ah, the Hankyu train! I lived on the Hankyu Takarazuka line in a city called Toyonaka, just north of Osaka. Major nostalgia hit seeing the Hankyu Arashiyama station and seeing you sit in those plush green seats on the Hankyu train. I lost count of how many times I took a day trip to Kyoto, pretty much always on the Hankyu line. I liked that train line so much, I even bought a little maroon die-cast Hankyu train toy to bring back to the states with me as a keepsake. Sorry for saying Hankyu so much in this post. There, I've said it again (>_
Thanks for visiting Toraya. It brought back embarrassing memories. I was there exactly one year ago from the date as I type this. I enjoyed my time at the cafe very much. I was with my neighbor, who is from Kyoto but hasn’t returned for twenty years. She wanted to take me to her favorite wagashi store. When we arrived, we found the building was recently rebuilt. She didn’t know. She encouraged me to buy omiyage for my friend that was going to meet up in Tokyo. She said it’s a very special shop. So I did. A few days later, I met up with my Tokyo friend in front of Tokyo Station and we had lunch at a cafe. I just followed her. At lunch, I gave her the wagashi and I went on to explain that it’s from Toraya, a very famous shop in Kyoto with over a hundred years of history. She smiled and said that the cafe is a branch of Toraya and they sold the same wagashi. 😮 My neighbor said she forgot that Toraya is a chain now…😅
I love Kyoto, and really enjoyed exploring it, especially the less crowded areas… Should have cycled though, I walked SO much my legs were very dead 🫠 Looking forward to the next time I am able to visit. You were there around same time I was! Wish I could’ve bumped into you somewhere along the way 🙂
hah! trippy! I was just in Arashiyama 2 weeks ago, I also got overwhelmed by the amount of people around the bridge and Main Street! Unfortunately I didn't realise it was a public holiday (labor thanksgiving day) so it was all extremely packed, police with megaphones guiding people across the street like Shibuya halloween or something.. but I also went to Jojakko-ji and fell in love with the colours there.. it's one of my fav temple/gardens now, I think.. great stuff!
From your videos, it seems like Japanese people themselves constitute the greatest number of in-country tourists, which is really neat. Today in the U.S.A., it seems less usual to travel across one’s own state to watch leaves turn, or to another state to visit a cave, or cross-country for a massive theater event … I think in my grandmom’s day it was pretty typical, maybe the trains were better. Perhaps one advantage to having great trains reaching every part of one’s country is tourism!! Maybe in Australia people visit other parts of Australia too, but in the U.S. I feel like that kind of in-country ravel has dwindled. Thanks for the upload, please revisit the snow monkeys someday - I loved those guys!!
Sarah! I have a new amazing thing for you to do in Kyoto on one of your next trips! At this place called Bonchi, you get to make miniature Japanese food sculptures out of clay. It's near Nijo Castle. The teacher, Mayuka-san, supplies everything and shows you exactly how to do every step. She's amazing and it was incredibly fun. Requires reservations but absolutely worth the time and effort!
My husband and I went to the Nintendo store in Kyoto a few weeks ago and it was packed, where you had to get the tickets to get in. It was also during the weekend though, so that was probably why. We ended up going to the Osaka and Tokyo one but sad we missed out on Kyoto. Next time!
In Arashiyama I would have gone to London Books (my first time see a complete collection of Japanese language Dostoevsky!) ... in Kyoto, hiking up to Doshisha Cemetery is fun ...
I didn't like the touristy bamboo forest as much as I thought when I was there last. So much so, I didn't take any pictures of it. The other one you showed us looked alot better and more pleasing to the eyes. NEXT time I will go there instead. Also a great idea to Rent out a bike and wander around. Will put that too in the list of things and re do in Japan.
Happy holidays! Your travel vlog is like a holiday destination in itself, and I'm grateful for the virtual escape. Just wanted to share that the new v4 Bento Bag and the Ikigai Backpack from NomadLane caught my attention - they might make your travels even more special.
I stayed very close to the monkeys 🎉. Unfortunately i only had around 24 hours in Kyoto but i see I missed so much haha. I did love that river tho, a true force of nature.
Thanks for the video Sarah! For reference, I am going to Kansai mid October 2024 and bringing some friends who have never been to Japan. Is that too early to see the leaves change color?

Back in autumn 2017 I was about to hop a shinkansen to Kyoto when a little obachan asked me what I was planning to see there. I didn't have anything particular lines up so she spent the first hour of the ride starting me a map of Kyoto's shrines and temples that I should visit while there, dropping it off to me when she alighted. There was one on the western side of the map that she hadn't included the romaji for so I spent a couple hours using kanji apps to figure it out. It turned out to be the Jokkakoji temple you visited and it was so worth the hassle trying to find it - the foliage was bright orange, my favourite colour. Can't wait to visit Kyoto again to complete the handwritten scavenger hunt. ❤
You not want Kirby? I got a bag of Salt&Vinegar 😂 But seriously, of the trodden path, the less touristy places look amazing. And 1500¥ is quite cheap compared to the rest of the world. Or some spots in Kyoto 😂 but that 3700¥ was the best chicken i had 😂 Good thing it wasn't in Netherlands, wielding a phone on a bike would set you back 2 dinners and a lunch 😊
I was in Arashiyama a few days ago. It’s an incredibly picturesque place and it would have most likely been the highlight my trip so far but I am really struggling to enjoy myself in these crowds. Obviously I am part of the crowd myself but I thought I was going at a time of year when there wouldn’t be as many tourists!
I feel you! Hard to complain too much when you’re part of the crowds… but sometimes it is just too much & takes away from the experience 😭 Getting there early like 7am would definitely help I think.. (I tried and slept in too much haha)
You where near a Michelin restaurant my girlfriend and I accidentally ate at, we just thought it was a normal ramen place. It wasn't until we were walking in we realized what it was. The place is called Menya Inoichi, hope you can try this location, really would like to know what you think about it.
Fantastic home stay evening meal ❤. Hot water in a bottle,, genius ❤ sushi burger 🤤. I can get u Yorkshire Tea in Yorkshire for £2.30. if u ever need just ask. 😘 Nintendo vlog shopping needed
It was kind of a bad year for autumn leaves. When I was in Iya Valley, they told me the leaves just turned brown and fell off the trees because it was so warm and then suddenly so cold.
Another cool video ✌️ Hey what is the music track playing in the beginning had some LOFI Hiphop vibes with traditional Japanese music with some subtle dmc scratching over it would live to know please 🙏

Nice! This has the high quality level of a documentary!
Thank you so much!
Thanks for sharing. That family was so kind and hospitable!
no plans and running into people like chi-chan and oba-san is what makes traveling so great in japan

I feel like dango with green tea is the japanese version of tea and biscuits in the UK etal.
Autumn season is so beautiful in Japan. Looks like you truly had a wonderful time!
Oh wow I've had mitarashi dango a ton of times, but never with kinako. I have to try that! You eat the coolest things
カフェで素晴らしい歓待を受けてよかったですね。(^_^)
At that cafe you’ve got incredibly splendid hospitality. It was awesome for you. (^_^)

.Well done. One of your best videos.
Nice travel guide from Kyoto.
レンコンって英語ではロータスだったかな。食感が独特だけどおいしいよね~私も大好きです✨
a Seerasan video is what I needed this Sunday ✌
🎉🎉
Really nice homestay dinner! Great to see various options in Kyoto.
Tsuru (herons) are my favorite bird and find encouragement from their sightings. It was a hard day, so this video was just what I needed for so many reasons.
Thank you! Take care!

beatiful video! love the places, the food, I really enjoyed it! =) and didn't even realized is 25min.

Autumn season grows on me every year tbh! I’ll have to stock up when I go home to Aus since it’s better priced there 😂
Loved this adventure and the flow of the vídeo. ❤
I always add apple when making japanese curry. Square mochi in Kanto since it was easier to mass produce during the Edo period.
Loved this video! I miss Kyoto as visited years ago. Thanks for reminding me how picturesque it is ❤
Wunderbar!
Taking notes for my next trip. Everything you did looked fun!
Loving more and more your adventures! Keep them coming! 🥰
Kyodo 😉 Audumn leaves 😄
Can’t wait to watch this there today!
these are some amazing sights! man autumn is a sight to behold in japan!

It's the dango girl! Anywhere you go, you love having your dango and mochi. I hope you reach 50k by the end of the year. Thanks for the vid! Cheers!
Yes always finding Japan’s finest dango across the country! 🍡
I would personally love to see a Nintendo haul vid!

Absolutely gorgeous video, loving your solo travel videos Sarah! Thanks for showing us the paths less traveled! 🙏🏻
Love your solo travelling vlogs 🥰 they remind me of the feeling when I was travelling in Japan 😊🇯🇵💕

Awesome and very enjoyable vlog. 👍🏻
100% I'd watch a Nintendo haul vid.
2:14 it’s not too bad. What’s bad is being in the area where the Christmas villages are in NYC. It makes all the local people like me want to avoid it
I loved this video! I miss Japan 🥺

Yes plz to the Nintendo video 😊
OMG ! The crowds !
Ha ha, i understood you saying 美味しい, my Japanese is improving! 😊

Oh nooo! I must’ve been lucky with my timing visiting then! Was around 6pm on a Sunday!
Thank you, Seerasan!
Yep. Definitely doing cycling when i come to Japan from Australia. Did it in London. Easier on the feet and legs.
You tried arepas! Jajaj that’s a South American food. Typical in Colombia and Venezuela. Glad you liked it.
1600¥ is currently £8.58, those biscuit tea bags in the U.K are currently £2.25, the pack of 40 regular ones are £1.75... Also I'm just noticing how incredibly British going out of my way to inform people of this egregious tea bag price difference is. 🤣
Why smuggle drugs when u can smuggle tea 😈🫖💰
Thanks for the tea price breakdown 😂
PS." Arepa" is a very common street food , also used for breakfast food in south america😊.
Great video! The food all looked so tasty and warming. I love your eye makeup too, what products do you use?
Thank you! ☺️ My eyeshadow is usually from Etude House, with eyeliner from Lancôme & rest of the products are Rare Beauty!
That’s awsome!
beautiful all of it
Favorite part was when you added the spicy thing in your food and your reaction 😂😂

I kinda miss seeing you without your partner. You are a great couple. Keep up the great work.
Great video.
Thank you! :)
