Moto Ride Central City Lookout Mtn Newborn Elk 20240525

Did a little ride up to Central City as well as up Lookout Mountain the afternoon of May 25, 2024. The sun was warm, the air cool, and toward the end of the ride, near the top of Lookout Mountain, I got to see a momma elk and her brand new, newborn calf. The little thing was still stumbling and falling over. It was likely born just hours prior (its hair was dry and fuzzy, but it was still stumbling keeping up with momma). The video wasn't able to capture the elk with any discernable details, but in real time I got to enjoy a Disney, Bambi-like elk calf moment.
