    I’m curious if fueling a body that big for endurance sports with more long lasting macronutrients like fat, would be considerably more effective than macronutrients like carbs which burn fast even for small people, and often lead to even faster/more lactic acid build up. Might be worth experimenting with.

    • @drym3943
      @drym3943 3 роки тому

      It can be great for some training session to get the body used to consume fat. But on race day eating carb is the way to go. Simply because glycogen is the best source of energy whereas fat need oxygen in order to be use by the body as fuel.

    You have to learn to fix thise tires yourself, what will you do in competition where no external help is allowed? Especialy for the tubless, you need a prestreched one to take into the competition. Regardining the tape for the tubeless on the rim, you leave a handwide gap on the opposite of the valve, where you can rip of the tubless from the rim. Basic technic and tricks Nick.

      Crossfit is a joke so training for it would of course be a joke in and of itself.

    I've had that, I was sitting in a park next to my bike and suddenly psssssssss, flat tyre. All I can think of is that the pressure of the tyre was quite high and it was sitting in the sun and maybe the increased heat caused over pressure... who knows

    Made the comment several times on various places - but there are still IM full distance races open that you could have switched to. I saw you're changing focus to "hybrid" again after this race.. but your original challenge was a sub 10 IM that you could still get after curious why you're not doing another race? IM wasn't responsible for what the city of Woodlands did, I get they've handled some things poorly, but they can't control a county denying the use of a road for the bike portion..

      Maybe realised sub 10 is unlikely & cancellation gave an opportunity to swerve it without ‘failing’. Job is done as far as creating hype & marketing the nutrition nonsense - why risk it all by actually doing an Ironman when circumstance has given you a way out.

    Most people carry a spare tube or a patch kit in case of a flat, Nick carries an entire spare bike

    You gotta have a few screws loose to do this kinda endurance training IMO.
