absolutely extraordinary. good for him, hes among the greats, and future generations will know the names of these masters.
The guy comes to France, works on an extraordinary project and enjoys the country so much he wants to move here. Love it! Welcome man, I hope you'll at least get a long stay visa.
Welcome American friend, good people are always wellcome
when you like working on such nice buildings to keep them alive and shining for the future generation, it is the right place to be. I can understand him wanting to carry on there with his job and skills.
That and the US is going to hell in a handbasket.
More than welcome in France!
As a lifelong Carpenter, this would be the pièce de résistance!
Awesome!
This is not "just work" that they are doing...they are making legacy.
Have visited the cathedral in 2013, a "must see" when you are in Paris!
Thanks to this carpenter
Greetings from France
This story filled my eyes with tears of joy. That Notre Dame is almost finished and that there were magnificent people who came from all over the world to heal the Cathedral's wounds were two of the most wonderful things that I have heard in a long, long time. I hope Hank gets his wish and finds joy in France. Notre Dame was the very first thing I ever saw in Europe and France holds a very special place in my heart; I love them both.
🙏
it was so painful to watch the destruction of such a beautiful structure. So glad to see it being repaired.
Nous allons l'admirer pendant encore 3000 ans ❤🇲🇫
Repaired... might not be the best verb to describe this massive project but I hear you.
I hope our president will answer you positively, you are more than welcome to France ! 🇫🇷
Merci Monsieur
Thank you Sir
Glad there were many "artists" others than frenchies who rebuilt this masterpiece ,this is a humanity treasure ,for everyone who loves great work, and god maybe ....a unique work once in a life for an artist- carpenter
He's helping rebuild _The Forest._
one of many, thanks a lot for your help and work
God bless you Sir !
It’s so cool that they are rebuilding it like this.
Love it. Bravo sir.
A American in Paris the good title 4 a serious job he helped 2 restore Notre Dame a real carpenter very fantastic spirit
A real labor of love.
Amazing - and God bless everyone who has turned their hand to restoring this great, GREAT cathedral.
Great Story!
That man's skills might be needed once more, as the old Copenhagen stock exchange building (the Børsen) burned down yesterday.
PS: To have the French citizenship granted , not only it's better to speak French fluently but also to understand very well the French history + culture + mentality

I would like to visit it, as well as the natural museum, unfortunately they are in paris

Americans are overall the most friendly and generous people I've ever met. What a great guy.
How many countries do you actually know ?
@@eugenieponleve667 More than you. Great job proving that not all people are inclined to be friendly.

Great opportunity especially being in the hi tech world

BELLS, BELLS, BELLS, BELLS
BELLS OF NOOO-TRAAAA-DAAAAAME!
The rooster at the top is not like the original. It has been changed. It looks like a phoenix now. And it's intentional
His work in Notre Dame is definitely great. However to have his French citizenship granted, it is better for him to speak French fluently ; even if it isn't compulsory by law it is for him not to suffer prejudices.
Je pense que lui fera l’effort, il est là pour travailler
Who told you that he doesn’t speak fluent French ????
On a US News TV channel, you usually speak English !
They are not gonna give him a citizenship but at least he can ask for a titre de séjour
🇫🇷💕🇺🇸
I hope he gets citizenship
😄😄👍👍💪💪🤝🤝👏👏👏
And next year there’ll be a documentary on ABC showing how the Americans saved Notre Dame.
How much are they getting paid?
One cheese and a bottle of wine
@@swann67000 You uncultured savage, you forget the baguette without which neither wine nor cheese has any taste.🤣
that's a crucial question isn't it .. jeez.
Thanks real Americans for saving God's house, great hero, heroes. Sorry evil hurt Notre Dame, great artist craftsman
Not quite Evil. Just an electrical short circuit.
One bloody American? Whoopty doo!
I think you'll find any amount of nationalities on that restauration site. one american is not really newsworthy.
Why not? First, it was a US news bulletin. Also, It shows that some people are broad-minded and adventurous enough to go and leave their comfortable life behind.
@@Alex-mp1zb Yes, that was kind of my point. They had many probably more interesting broad minded and adventurous people on that site.
Really😂
É muito muito estranho que americanos estejam fazendo isso já que a igreja é Francesa e a Sta seja católica. Isso é triste muito triste
Mostra que algumas pessoas têm cérebros mais abertos que o seu.
AI and ChatGPT will soon replace carpenters jobs too
They definitely will replace you much sooner.
Hey France... How's the Multi-Culti?

France is a secular society with lots of atheist FYI. But anyway seeing a landmark on balance is always heartbraking

Is your smugness a national characteristic too?
the guy gotta teach the french their lost traditions
Actually, he came to learn them from the rare companions who still mastered them in France. Not to teach the French.
Remember that the USA is not yet 250 years old as a country…
@@joso5554 its called carpentry and in the USA, the industry has been a staple since its founding. Ironic isnt it that avg American knows more about carpentry than the Avg European even though it originated there.
And I stated the french lost their tradition giving the rhetoric that comes from europeans about Americans home. So I am corrected when its the europeans that could do some learning from the Americans.
@@Placebo___ imagine being this arrogant about something you don't even do yourself
@@Hepad_ Imagine calling someone arrogant by giving a vague statement. Basic carpentry is not difficult you child. Own a home or business.
@@Placebo___ yeah for sure this is basic carpentry
There is a critical shortage of skilled carpenters in Massachusetts, so no need to work in France.
I don’t think he needs to. I think he wants to. Quite a nuance.
Such a waste of time, effort, and expertise for an evil cause.
Restoring a historic monument is an evil cause?
As always, the Yankees are looking for, at any time, an American who, like Rambo, can save whatever is needed on his own. 🤣🤡 Pathetic!
DON'T FORGET, PEOPLE SPENT 1 BILLION TO SAVE A STUPID BUILDING BUT NOT SAVE THEIR REAL HOME FROM FIRE DISASTER. THE AMAZON AT THE SAME TIME WAS BURNING. NICE PRIORITIES HUMANS.
This project speaks to the vanity of those in charge of the catholic church.
In France, cathedrals are owned and maintained by the state. The Catholic church has nothing to do with it other than using them for services.
And the people of Paris wanted their Cathedral back.
The Church does not own Notre-Dame,a listed building and the property of the French state .Moreover in the Middlle Ages ,gothic cathedrals were built to be the pride of city dwellers who used them to sign business contracts ,organize unions--- and they were designed to serve as palaces for the poor, homeless people being permitted to spend the night inside. Before uttering such primitive prejudices ,teach yourself a bit of history (By the way I am NOT a catholic )
you should convert
Your initial comment speaks to the vanity of illiterate people in the age of social networks. Regardless of religious beliefs or absence thereof.
How many hungry people could be fed with the money wasted on this project?
How many homeless people could be given shelter with the money wasted on this project?
How many people could be treated for medical ailments with the money wasted on this project?
Preserving cultural and historical heritage isn't the worst usage of money and resources. Far from it.
While literally trillions upon trillions of dollars are being used to produce meaningless items across the globe.
@@cocolasticot9027It isn’t a zero sum game. Plus the money spent on building materials and labor gets reinvested in the French economy and of course the Government gets a share in taxes. And jobs are provided for construction workers as well as the places that supply materials and the places the workers spend their money. Then once the work is finished there will be the tourists buying tickets to tour Notre Dame. And spending their Euros at various businesses near the Cathedral.
How many hungry people you could have fed by washing your dishes by hand rather than buying a machine...do your laundry by hands too ..Are you walking to work or using a vulgar car , costing a lot of money that you could have spent on homeless...how many of them living in your house today.....PS ( i grew up next to Her )
What are you talking about ? In France health care is free, and nobody starves here. Homeless who wanted to settled are always given free appartements here, not in Paris but elsewere. What are you talking about ? Infrastructure ? We are spending 50 times more than notre Dame for metro extension (Grand Paris) here. With more tourists than anywhere else in the world, it's not wasted money anyway. Just money for working people. All this money will go to workers, all of it. Trump just lost two times Notre Dame rebuiding money in two weeks..So ? Sure he would have given those 2 billions to poor people as he always did in his life..LOL
But here we think social, with the strange paradox of having at the same time, the wealthiest man and the wealthiest woman in the world as French living in France. you can check that of course.
You would prefer not doing anything ? Is that your plan ?
Your poverty of mind is far too obvious, but no one prevents YOU from donating and helping "hungry and homeless people"instead of wasting your money .As for "medical ailments" ,Notre-Dame stands in Europe,a continent that provides a National health system to its citizens.
For a historical building, yes it's interesting to see the craftsmanship, But, as far as eternal significance , it is only a building , to provide a locale for worshippers The true Church is the People , not the building. What is critical is the hearts of the people who profess Christianity. Do they truly put Jesus Christ as Lord, and Saviour, or are they just going through the motions? It is the former , I hope.
Jesus Christ here. We burned it down on purpose for centuries of genocides using My names by the French.
Tu es complètement fou ? 🤔 😕 😮😠 😢🤢
No such genocide
