    Liz I would give good money for some bright green nicksana plants. I’m not as bothered about variegation tbh. I don’t have many succulents that give that lovely colour and definition. They are delicious. Only got Leticia that is similar that will grow just indoors in my home. I do have a 10 head stem of Aeonium Lilipad which looks similar and it finally seems to be growing. I love your videos like this. Xx

    ;) question Liz, I just got 3 Christmas cactus and they came in 1 in pot, look like 3 leaves where rooted and stuck together, on each, I don't know what to do, should I take them apart, but gosh lately plants I bough where plants stuck together to look more full, and other have died, so not sure if I repot the way it is. I stumbled across your channel, thank you for all the help you give.

    • @GrowingSucculentswithLizK
      @GrowingSucculentswithLizK  3 роки тому

      I would just repot them as one and let them thicken up naturally. When big enough, you can easily take cuttings and they grow quite easily as long as you keep them on the dry side.

    Do you have to do granite peppples, or will any pretty gravel pebbles work? Is there something special about the granite?

    • @GrowingSucculentswithLizK
      @GrowingSucculentswithLizK  Рік тому +1

      You can use a lot of other rocks for top dressing or into the soil (mineral rocks). But for me, I have access to granite for free. This is why I use it plus; Decomposed granite is an Igneous rock that contains a lot of other rocks/minerals in it. When it decomposes naturally, can release all the minerals goodness contained in this rocks/granite into the plants and they seem to love it.

    • @GrowingSucculentswithLizK

      It's not as simple as using the right fertilizer; but I use a generic fertilizer from my local hardware store together with Seamungus into my soil mix. Please watch my video on How to make a Master Succulent Soil Mix. Link below this video in the description box. Cheers

    Hi Liz, How often do you fertilize your baby succulents ? and how often do you fertilize your big succulents ?

    • @GrowingSucculentswithLizK
      @GrowingSucculentswithLizK  3 роки тому

      Baby succulents every two weeks with liquid fertilizer.
      Mature in pots once a year with Pellet Fertilizer or slow release and once a month with liquid fertilizer incorporated with watering if I want to have babies.
      TAKE NOTE....Some succulents don't like fertilizer at all so have to be aware which ones do and which ones don't.

    • @GrowingSucculentswithLizK
      @GrowingSucculentswithLizK  Рік тому

      Most succulents don't need much soil to grow. The growth size is proportionate to the size of "ANY" container used. I personally, don't like using tin cans as they can rust which is not beneficial to the plants. The video below might be able to give you more info on pots I used for succulents and why. Cheers

      In my experience, an ideal soil mix should be free draining which mean when watered, water should pass through easily but at the same time able to hold moisture to provide nutrients for the plants.
      Where you live, the succulent you have, your growing spot or location(indoor or outdoor) and the pot or planter used, will dictate the soil mix you'll need to use. Please see below this video link to my different soil mixes.

      I get mine from a friends property not open to the public. You can get Maifan stone online. It's also decomposed granite. I use Seamungus by Neutrog in my soil mix and I fertilize with Powerfeed liquid seaweed in Spring through summer. I also Apply Seamungus once a year on older pots.

    If you keep them outdoors you shouldn't have to water because you guys get lotta rain. I think Australia and the Philippines area have perfect weather for succulents!! How awesome!!

      Some parts of Australia have perfect weather for succulents but unfortunately not where I am. A lotta rain and humidity will kill succulents.

    omg I didn't know variegated succulents shouldn't be exposed to the sun! from growing non-succulents plants, I thought a lack of sunlight is a major reason that plants lose variegation...if you wet the soil in the k-mart basket, how long does it take to dry? many people are telling me I need to blend soil to get dry up within 3-4 days.

      Depends on the location and the season. Here in Canberra, Australia, If we don't get rain during winter, I won't be watering these plants for 3 months till spring time when the weather warms up or if the plant shows sign of needing watering.

    I have plenty of little succulents. How can I identify the names of them to label them? They are hard to "describe" to Google as many have only small differences I am stuck in ignorance! I know only a few easy names from my schooldays but no more. 🙃

      Unfortunately, it's difficult to ID a plant when they're small. Have to wait till they're a bit older and if possible flowering. This will make it easier to ID. Where it's grown can also help or make difficult ID. Otherwise, best researching online stores by looking at different photos of succulents for ID. Thanks for watching.

      @@GrowingSucculentswithLizK Thank you. You have a lovely country. I visited there once for a holiday all around the country with a Filipino friend who used to share my apartment in Israel.
      Salamat! 💕

      I don't water my succulents when it's over 30c. If I have to water them because they're really dry, I bring them inside where it's cooler and soak them for days tills they're fat or had enough to drink.
      Please check out my WATERING PLAYLIST VIDEO. Link below. Thanks!
