I believe that the basis for growing healthy succulents is in the soil mix. If you get the soil mix right to suit the area you're in, the succulents basically look after themselves. For humid places, I recommend using my Tropical Soil mix or similar soil mixture. Link below the video in the description box. Thanks for watching.
Hi Liz, I have propagated many succulent babies. I want to provide their own pot now. I have seen in a nursery growing them only in coconut coir. Can I use only coconut coir for succulent babies? If yes how often should I water?I am growing them indoor. Thank you so much.
I use coco coir for succulent babies with roots and I water them everyday or when its dry, until they outgrow their coco coir crib. Then I transfer them to the grown up soil which are Master soil, Intermediate soil and advance soil mix.
I’m always in awe every time I see your gorgeous babies😍. As we enter winter here in California I wish to grow hardy succulents like you so I’ve been debating whether to put cover over my babies or not! After seeing this video part of me wants to swing it and introduce my babies to rain and all but part of me is fear that I might kill em all😱😭😬
Start with cheap common hardy plants like your elegans, imbricata, pachyveria hookerii, powder puff, graptopetalum paraguayense and also some agavoides variety.
@@GrowingSucculentswithLizK thx for the advice, I really appreciate it. I’ll definitely start sorting them out based on your recommendation. That’s why I love your channel coz I learned excellent stuff from you😘
Aloe Juvenna or Tiger tooth aloe. Depending on the watering and sun, this plant is now all green since we've had so much rain lately and also a lot of cloudy days.
Hey Liz lovely video thanks for sharing, but I do want to know how do u treat fungus on plants cuz my aeonium kiwi and black rose died from it and I don't know which kind of fungicide is suitable pls help 🥺✨
When It comes to pest and fungus on succulents....I'm a bit useless in that department since I don't have any of those issues. Just the odd aphids and mealy bug. Sorry...
I am in amazement on how your plants go through so many weather change. First you leave your plants for months then you come back and so does the frost now the rain 🌧 and then the heat...and they still survive!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It's just heartbreaking for some plants that grows so well then gets hammered by the frost then recovers again only to get hammered again by the next frost. I need a glass house.
A walk in the rain is refreshing for the plants they seem to perk up and come alive. loved the video its same here a wet october thank u much apperciated the effort and time u put in joy to watch and had chuckle. cheers

Hi Lizk I'm just wondering if you'll be able to tell me what is the brand off your master potting mix loves your Succulents tnx and merry Christmas kabayan.
I make my own soil mix. I have a few soil mix for different usage. Below is a link to my videos. Have a Merry Christmas and wishing you all the very best for the New Year. SUCCULENT SOIL MIX - ua-cam.com/play/PLrXnzlHRKzov9mmpJoGSLGEljHIYTLNaM.html
I use ceramics or glazed pots a lot and have no problem with them as long as they're paired up with the right plant and the right soil. Cement pots are still under observation.
How do we make our succulents as hardy as yours..i mean does slowly introduction them to the elements enough? I dont grow mine under the green net as well but they still rot every now n then.
It really starts from the soil mix then acclimatization. After that, they can pretty much look after themselves and just maintenance(checking for bugs and removing dry leaves) and watering when they need it and that's basically it. With the amount of videos I've put out, you're bound to find the answer to your questions as every succulent(species and variety) are different and have varying requirements.
@@GrowingSucculentswithLizK Yes your videos definitely are very informative, and has helped me understand so many of my own babies. I guess its just a bit of trial and error with the soil mix and understanding how my climate effects all of my different babies. Thanks for all your content, they're really very helpful ❤️
Hi, Liz! How about if you're in a tropical country like the Philippines--can you still just leave out all your succulents outdoors? We get around 80in of rainfall here year round...
Not all plants/succulents. You have to study and find out which plants can survive and which ones should be kept away from the rain. Most of my plants that you see in my videos that are grown outside in the rain have survived because of my soil mix. If you find the suitable soil mix for each plants, then they can survive a lot of rain. Not all succulents can handle the same soil mix.
@@GrowingSucculentswithLizK thanks ! thought it would be cool to see the difference between the plants using flowers as a source of identification - they all can look similar so I was wondering if the flowers tell more of the story …, so to speak
Ms Lizk gumagamit po ba kayo ng chemical to have beautiful flowers?? I'm so amaze !! My days are not complete even d nights viewing your updated vlog.❤️❤️❤️
Hi Liz, can you tell me if I can cut my lavender pebble in middle of stem to remove the head? Will this give me extra babies? Or only works for echeveria?
They don't pup up from the top of where you chop off but grow from the sides of where the old leaves use to be. So don't cut it too short and give them room to grow new pups.
@@GrowingSucculentswithLizK I might try it but I'm so nervous to do it. Cost me too much... 😬 If you plan to cut yours soon, pls video it so viewer's can learn how to do it. Thank you Liz dear. ❤❤❤

Thanks Lele.
Reverse the pot bases - great rain tip!
I envy your beautiful garden, I have some succulents and cactus but I have a hard time to grow bigger some of them rotted.
Maybe too much water especially with the cactus. Better to water less than more unless they're already mature and acclimatized.
super ganda!!!! thanks Liz!
Salamat po Ricah.
Hi. Very nice Circular
Thank you! Cheers!
Oh my God I love all your succulents and remembering all the names wow, thanks for the info❤️❤️❤️❤️
You are so welcome Flora. Thanks for watching.
this is my third time watching god bless very beautiful 🙌🙌🙌
Thank you Rosa. Glad you enjoyed it.
I live in Miami Florida and the weather is very humid, Rainy & hot. . Do you have any recommendations for putting the succulents outdoors?
I believe that the basis for growing healthy succulents is in the soil mix. If you get the soil mix right to suit the area you're in, the succulents basically look after themselves.
For humid places, I recommend using my Tropical Soil mix or similar soil mixture. Link below the video in the description box. Thanks for watching.
Lovely Liz!!Which one was Transvaal Drakensberg?I almost jumped when I heard that!!because it must come from South Africa...makes my heart smile
12:48 of the video Carla. The one that's flowering. Also have a photo w/o flower(red plant) on my Instagram page.
Thanks Liz I will have to go check it out!!
Hi Liz,
I have propagated many succulent babies.
@@GrowingSucculentswithLizK Thank you so much and do I need to rinse that well beforehand?
@@bandanabanerji8079 No need to rinse the coco coir.
That’s why I love your channel coz I learned excellent stuff from you😘
Love the sédum flowers. So beautiful. Should stop spoiling my plants because they really rot or die😢😢.
Most succulents deaths are due to overwatering.
20:20 that's a cool looking aloe you've got there. What's it called?
A big big greenhouse
A walk in the rain is refreshing for the plants they seem to perk up and come alive. loved the video its same here a wet october thank u much apperciated the effort and time u put in joy to watch and had chuckle. cheers
I'm glad you enjoyed the video Gerard. Thanks for watching.
Daily habit ko na talaga na manood ng vlogs nyo maam. Gaganda talaga ng mga babies nyo. Mas mukha pa ngang horrible yung mga saken compared sa mga alaga nyo. 🤣
Luv it Liz!
Hi LizK ! What's the succulent called at 6:26 ? It's so pretty
It's an Echeveria elegans hybrid called Schichi-kuksi.
Good morning LizK. Keep up the good work. Wish l could come over.
Maybe one day! Thanks for watching.
Beautiful Liz
Thank you! 😊

What do you think about ceramics and cement pot? Are they ok for succulent too? 🤔
Super ganda po 🙈
Salamat po Christine. Happy Holidays po.
Thanks for this! Learning so much from you! 💚
Like it when you sing songs ! ❤😂
Can you do a video on all the red edged flowers? Lipstick ebony etc?😍
Definitely on the cards. Thanks for watching.
I don't use chemicals to make them flower. They will flower naturally.
That red aloe at @20:01 is stunning! what's the ID?
It's called Aloe brevifolia. Very common one. The ones I've grown in my garden with plenty of soil are greener.
Hi Liz what’s the name of that beautiful red aloe❤I’m in love 😂
At 3:00 of the video? Aloe striata 'Coral Aloe'
@@Lisa-zi8dj My plant is two years old and I have no plans of cutting it as it has a few new babies growing from the base.
@@GrowingSucculentswithLizK ok understand that. Hopefully I get some babies from it soon. Thanks Liz. 😊❤❤❤
Hi Liz, can you help identify the visual difference between Graptopetulam amethystium and Pachyphytum oviferum please?
I have a small pot of one of them lol
Here's the link for video below. 11:38 of the video or you can watch the whole thing. Cheers.

can we purchase your special soil? the rain here has been terrible and i have plants covered and have holes, but still get root rot. no sun in over 2 weeks! I think it might be the soil??
Sorry I don't sell any. Please try using my Tropical soil mix or Cat litter soil mix. Ingredients for this soil mix can easily be obtain and both are perfect soil mix for wet and high humidity areas.
Great job 👌
Thanks 😁
Mam Liz try smelling bear’s paw after the rain 😬😬 not too pleasant. Up to now im still amaze with your collections. 😍 hindi nakakasawa ☺️☺️ have a goodnight.
Huhuhu that romeo though they hate me 😢
I'm sure they don't. You're just maybe spoiling them too much.
