A prequel is needed, anything to see Claes revive this role.
Claes was so damn fabulous. The best thing about the show.
Agreed, but if we do, then we're going to have to keep whoever wrote the script for the third episode out -_-
Oh, he’s Dracula, he has a habit of not dying, if there’s enough interest he’ll be back.
Wet Mustard agreed, but as they demonstrated in the third ep ‘blood lives’ can keep a link to the past so plenty of opportunities for flashbacks if they go for a sequel not a prequel.
Yes this actor will be always dracula for me
Loved it.
Nun: We're under attack from the forces of evil!
Nun2: Why would the forces of evil want to attack a convent!?
Nun: Maybe they're sensitive to criticism? 😂
Claes sounds more English than English person
Dracula drained the blood from Jonathan and that enabled him to absorb everything that had made up Jonathan.
Previously Dracula had sucked the blood of local people and he absorbed their folklore and superstitions and he retained his accent because there was no others.
Dracula wants to be able to fit in with polite English society, that is
one reason why he had Jonathan come to him, he needs an English accent.
@@manchestertart5614 You'd almost think the actor is a vampire. If only they did a film about that...
@@manchestertart5614 yes but the actor is not British, he's Danish yet he sounds so British in real life
@@MalakNeghra He's good at accents.
English in particular.
I've not heard him use any other British accent.
@@manchestertart5614 He uses 2 in this short: his interview accent is not the same as his character's.
Claes is such a great actor. I love his voice.
I agree, and I also love his voice. He sounds a lot like Alfred Molina to me.
master would have been brilliant in dr who than bless sacha 4 m
I didnt really mind the 3rd episode i found it entertaining BUT the first 2 were the real gems. One of the best shows in Netflix EVER. We need another season!
Agatha Van Helsing is the ultimate badass
Fajar Putranto Nah She was kinda annoying. If they do a season 2 it’s hopefully just Dracula
Fajar Putranto loved her!
Dracula little smile in the end❤ i need a second part of this show
Do a prequel. The show was amazing television up until he went into the present. Dracula is meant to be in the past, thats when hes the scariest and most powerful
the 3rd episode was really a let down , I agree keep him in the past.
Razatiger Ault you are so right, the first and second were amazing but the third was weird and poo
I absolutely love "Dracula". Amazing show, with amazing actors and story! Hope it comes to DVD and Blu-Ray really soon!
Claes made an excellent Dracula. I mean he easily could compete with the previous actors who played Dracula. If only he was give a bit more to work with. I wish it stayed true to Bram Stoker's novel. Imagine if he played that role 👌🏼 {also he's very handsome 😏}.
To be trapped on a boat, or in a scary castle with Claes Bang? Both would be decidedly acceptable! Yes, let's have more of this fabulous series!
I loved the castle set, and I adore the old school effects throughout the entire series. One massive point they got absolutely right was the sound! A windy draughty castle, always able to hear the outside taunts of distant wolves and mysterious supernatural happenings, never feeling entirely safe in any room, and the further you go, the worse it all gets. Super creepy! Loved it.
I loved the phrase: "It needs paprika!"
imagine Claes becoming the next James Bond..🧐🤔😍😜
I love how they emphasized on the maze his castle was, it really brought some claustrophobic elements to Harper's time there.
For fucks sake, don't torture us - PLEASE follow up with a second season!!!! ABSOLUTELY brilliant, outstanding job indeed!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Claes = Class
This show was so good until the 3rd episode. Would love to see a prequel cause we definitely need more of this dracula.
claes look incredibly terrifying in dracula, it couldn't be better
I think claes is the next james bond! I've never seen someone this charming in a long time he is just amazing to watch.
Best iteration in a long time
Mark Gatiss is exactly the guy you would want to help produce such a show. He's a Hammer fanatic and he knows the amazing sets that they built time after time for so many classic films on small budgets.
I loved the idea of bringing Dracula to present.
The last ep has its faults. It’s flawed but it is beautiful.
Maybe I would have done the whole modern day setting move in a second series. But regardless it was and has heart.
Edit: For me tbh the last scene was a bit metaphorical of depression.
Maybe that’s the whole point of the show? Given his sadistic and self destructive tendencies?
Not that he kills himself.. honestly that is ambiguous. But that there is light out of the darkness? Then again I may be overthinking it lol.
I liked the third episode, but I agree that it would've worked better as a second series.
Not a government agent - glad I’m not the only one, I think the problem is that the supernatural never works quite as well in a contemporary setting, it’s like we know it’s not real, now, but it’s somehow more believable if set in the past.
The last shot with him facing his fear was incredibly poetic. An immortal being who fears death and finally embraces it.
Amritpalh H it worked for me, yet it leaves space for debate. Would he really have embraced it knowing for sure it was his end, or would he, in his devious way, have risked it only in order to take her and all she knew, for the chance of survival with her mind in his veins? What if it turns out to be just another coma state?
Ooh, sequel idea, what if it turns out the only way to reproduce is to give his all to another as if in death? But they’d share one another’s blood lives then, too, ooooh! ;)
@moonbyuli rushed my arse.
There should be a separate Dracula film starring Claes Bang, completely appart from the Netflix films, kinda like Christopher Lee in the Hammer series and the "Bram Stoker's Count Dracula" film, which had nothing to do with the Hammer series.
Is anyone kinda eager to see a season 2 where they show if he actually got to England aboard the Demeter successfully? Or is it just me 👀🤔
Watched all three episodes....EXCELLENT PRODUCTION!!! Claes is phenomenal as "The Prince Of Darkness" 🧛♂️🧛♂️🧛♂️
I loved the show!
Claes is amazing and ive never been more shocked that he isn’t english and he is 53!!!! How? Starting to think he is a real vampire thats why he suits it so well.. i mean 53 come on he barely looks 40
This was amazing to watch!!
Loving all the bts videos, so hope we get to see more, cause Claes and Dolly together that’s a dream cast! Such great chemistry
congratulatio for this amaizing Serie Dracula....the acting...the locations...the story line....amaizing!! was years that i didn't see an opera complete and intense and passionate like this one. the actors are eccelent!
Filippo Vika Learn English.
Impressive! imaginative! Awesome - the team and the captainS:)!
What is needed is someone like sir ridley Scott at the helm to show how dracula should have been done.
He's busy wrecking his own films, thankfully
claes's brilliant
WE NEED MORE!!!
Brilliant, great cast, love the show as watched all 3 and left wanting more. Love to see second series of this with the cast. 👍🏻
I need more of this series please
I have exact word to describe this kind work "phenomenal"
Wow, that’s surprising me 👏👏👏👏👍
I loved the chemistry between Claes and Dolly. I hope they will work together in the future.
This Movie has Quality in it every visual aspects
Actors.... What’s my motivation?!
Production design set team.....Yes.
would have liked to have seen the walk around in normal speed, not time lapse like the build must be.Amazing builds.
This is a pretty good show
Claus for JAMES BOND 007 !!!
I want a season two 😍
SEASONN 2 PLEASEEEEE
We need a prequel!
Claes Bang is like Chris Noth's younger brother
I love Mark gatiss
Muito bacana o filme, eu amei.
I think they missed a trick in Episode 3 by not having him be revived in the 1960's during the Hammer Horror era. Ah well, still good.
I loved this series, episode 1 and 2 are excellent, I like much less episode 3, I don’t like seeing Count Dracula in modern times. Now we should do a season two on the birth of Count Dracula. (sry for my english, from Belgium ;))
Season two pls.
Dracula is hot
Loved the series! I would love to see a second season but as a prequel , i was not a bug fan of Dracula on the modern day
How amazing! - just loved this - very clever writers
A prequel would be much welcome. BBC ;)
What is the music at the beginning?
Been searching for that particular music for a longtime..
I don't think they should continue the story. It was brilliant, i loved it...but it would continue in the modern days which i am not a huge fan of. Dracula belongs to the 19th century.
Klaudia Magyar I loved the modern day continuation.
The whole point of the original story was that an ancient monster had made it through to a modern age of science and enlightenment. The Victorian readers did not see themselves as living in quaint times. I thought that was a brilliant aspect of this production, that they understood that and honoured it.
Mina’s character and her boyfriend (whatever his name was) was what I didn’t like about the modern day episode
What a "bloody" "pain in the neck."
Maybe should have focused more on that last episode holy shit
Loved it, third episode was shit though.
He reminds me of Christopher lee
As this is on Netflix, why do you force people to pay a license fee to fund the BBC?
Maybe British people would rather pay towards the keep of a British corporation rather than service the debts of a loss making American company?
@@fobstaa Seeing as you asked- The BBC don't care what the British people would rather do. The British are forced, under threat of criminal conviction, to pay for the corporation. This is 'justified' by the a lie that the BBC is "independent of shareholder and political interest" yet they re-sell what the British paid for anywhere they can for billions in shareholder profit and fill their shows with heavy handed political agendas. People can choose to pay for Netflix, and if the content is bad people can choose to stop. The BBC has no incentive to produce quality content. Poor, elderly and free thinking people who do not pay for the BBC are branded criminals and fined/imprisoned/forced into debt/sacrifice food and heat in order to ensure payment for the free flow of Champagne given undeserving 'creatives' and celebrity guests.
LOL ich dachte das wäre ein echtes Schloss ☹️😂
1º Episode 9/10 2º episode 7/10 3º episode 5/10
What is it with Mark Gatiss and bringing classic novels into the 21st century? Which one do you think he'll do next?
Claes Bang for James Bond.👍👍
It was too dark I couldn't see half of what went on
janet dickinson It’s Janice actually.
janet dickinson Book appointment with the optometrist?
the oe tree ernal fight of good verses evil
They could continue it somehow. Yes, the 3rd episode was dreadful, but the ending was actually pretty good. Could be any number of ways to keep it going. Just don't let it succumb to the awful plot ideas that filled episode 3
If they only did a Wolf Man series that was as good as this show
please! I need more episodes like the first 2. The third one was too bad. too. I take myself out of context completely. this Dracula looks much better in his epoch. Bring it to the present, it definitely didn't work.
Team Netflix
Team BBC! +Netflix money.
Why didn't this much care go into the other 2/3rds of the series?
The first episode was good the second great and third was slow
Is this on Netflix??
Yes
I can't find it 😕
Not on UK Netflix.
That's not fair! I saw it was on BBC so I set it to record the series ... saw it was coming to Netflix so I cancelled the recording! A bit frustrating to say the least 😕
Megan Byrne It is on iPlayer. Has it been removed?
yo
I thought the ship was CGI
Nice sets. Too bad they wasted everything with episode 3
It would have been far better to have seen Dracula ahead in time just a little bit, maybe the Edwardian era, peak english civilisation as he dreamed of, to see how he coped and lived among those who inspired his whole trip in the first place.. There were good moments in the last episode but it was inferior in every way. Not what we wanted or expected, let's be honest. Sequel would be illogical sure, but a prequel of sorts is most welcome!
Wot you didn't use a real castle
Castlevania = best Dracula
It is like a dream, and they 💩 on it on the third episode....Thank you for setting up a fantastic show and then using it as toilet paper on the last episode! I would say more however it's spoilers and some would never forgive me!
I wasn't surprised how it ended given that Moffat was involved.
@@TK45236 I was since it started soo awesome, bloody and brutal....Then blam! Gonna give spoilers it starts in the past, Victorian era I believe and that goes so cool, second episode about a ship and a mistery with a cool dream sequence and in the third(or Turd 💩 how I like to call it) episode Modern age....We move from the beautiful Castle and great effects as Dracula gets younger, to the ship with a misterious pasanger and a great chess sequence of the first two episodes to a shy guy wanting to shag a girl....I partly understand what he was trying to do, still it works as well as a nut in the wall. Not to mention a lawyer sequence in the third episode that makes NO sense.....
I've already seen it, so you don't have to worry about spoiling it for me.
Episode 3 was just... It just didt belong.
I still can't believe how much you messed up with episode 3. The switch to modern day was jarring and completely unneeded. First two episodes were great the third and the ending were a joke.
Mr bang is a great actor. But yet again the heart of a classic character, has been ripped out. I like the first episode, by the last one. The problem with the writers is they always have a personal agenda, so Bram Stoker was a genius. How dare you impose this because of personal views.
Should’ve built a better storyline 🤦🏻♂️💩🦈🧛♂️
If only the 3rd episode was good
They should have stuck with the 18th century theme! The last episode was a complete disaster!
Third episode sucked. The first two were great.
Boii yall should have stayed in the past, that bringing to present thing lost its value and I would take those two episodes of Dracula over any episode of Lucifer, if that's what you were relating too
Shame the same level of detail and accuracy employed in the set design and construction wasn't used for the script...
@N Breeze J No, I wouldn't say that.
Everything that was wrong with Dracula reeked of things that Steven Moffat usually gets wrong.
But I did enjoy episodes 1 and 2 for the most part.
@@TheValeyard92 Agree with you completely about Moffat, you'd think by now he'd realise that people are on to him with regard to how predictable and poor his writing is, they had four and a half hours of screen time for God's sake, for that we could of had something really memorable rather than what we actually ended up with... 😔
@N Breeze J His Dark Materials was only bought by HBO, they had no hand whatsoever in its development.
@ Richard Thomas Personally I thought the script was brilliant, particularly the scenes with Dracula and Agatha. My only complaint was the Lucy character - I feel that Dracula wouldn’t have been so drawn to such a vapid person when they’d made so much of him selecting people who had depth.
Yes the music soundtrack is good ,do I detect shades of bram stoker s dracula music at times a homage perhaps.? The castle sets are superb . It is just a shame the adaptation did not match the excellent work that the creators had done to give atmosphere at least to this , I really hate to say the most disappointing version of the greatest vampire story of all.
Not bad, but the last episode was terrible.
What was the ending supposed to mean? Very very disapointing. The jumping times, the main woman character looking the exact same as her ancestor. The BBC can do better.
You shouldnt have bothered. It's the worst adaptation ive ever seen.
Episode 3 was rubbish .
