Jeff Healey was a god. He was a MAGNIFICENT guitar player, and NEVER, EVER complained about his condition. I had the incredible pleasure of meeting him. He was just such a happy person and he brought joy to everyone around him. So missed.
Wow that was something! It came close to making me cry. There are 2 incredible class acts and human beings. Les Paul was so gracious, humorous, kind and decent to all that sat in with him and Jeff Healy's talent was beyond belief. Much love and respect to both and may they both rip!
I've seen quite a few of these shows, and I've never seen Les Paul look as happy as here with Jeff Healey. I think Jeff Healey was over the moon, too. Thank you chris lentz for sharing this moment.
I'm from Toronto. Jeff Healy had a jazz blues club in Toronto called Healy's Roadhouse I think it opened in 2001. There was some great music to come out of that club, by Jeff and many other greats. The club is closed now. Jeff was a much loved man and a musical Icon in Toronto. When he passed in 2008, there was great sadness. He and his live music were truly loved and now missed. Thanks for this posting.
I was soooo lucky to see Jeff when he toured w/ Pure Prairie League & SRV @ Alpine Valley, '89 (I think). Sadly I also SRV's very last show @ the same venue. RIP, Jeff, Les & Stevie
It's amazing,,, how incredible we human beings are made! Lose your eyesight, and othe sense take double-duty,, and in Jeff's case,, playing the guitar like a lap steel to boot!!! God don't make any junk!!!! RIP JEFF & LES!!!!
I just witnessed two guys communicating like birds through their guitars. I've seen a lot of these videos but this one has a real rapport rather than just someone coming and sitting in with Les. Wonderful.
Brilliant! Two guitar geniuses, two generations, trading licks beautifully. I love this!!! Jeff was here for too short a time, but we are so lucky to be able to enjoy their legacy.
came here because of Jeff, a lifelong hero. But let's give that rhythm guitarist some love to - DAMN! He had to play that chord change for 10 minutes!!! hands of steel
God Bless them all. Abram Wilson, Jeff Healy and of course Les Paul. What a fabulous find! Thank you Chris for such a remarkable, unexpected post! This is a true treasure find! ✌🏻🙏👍🏻👋🏻
He gets credit from nigh on everybody those who hears him/knew of him. Can't ask for more than that..!! Healey was and still is a musician's musician. True legends up on this stage.
Hey, love Billy Gibbons and Joe Walsh playing with Les, millions of views but here is Jeff Healey a guitar wizard RIP, not even 64,000 views? I think even Les is impressed with Jeff's talent!!! It feels like the two of them have played together for years.Great video.
Powerful band. LP is still playing with great aplomb here. He's still a smart ass and on his game. More than a few 'greatest guitarists' didn't fare too well guesting on LPs show. Jeff clearly wasn't one of them. No slackers in that band. Thanks for the show.
I went to see Jeff in Glasgow in the early 90's, I can't believe it was around 25 years ago man! and almost a decade since we lost him to the great gig in the sky, I bet those are some jams huh? He was a very special guy that is missed by many. Thanks for posting this video as it took me back in time for a while.
Not only was Jeff a killer blues/rock player but jazz was always his go-to music. He had one of the largest jazz record collections in Canada. Truly an amazing talent that is sorely missed. He and Les Paul are truly enjoying each others talent. They are communicating perfectly in musical notes and it's amazing to watch.
Don't know if it was Jeff's call, but he was one the very few who had the smarts to feature Les' signature song and let Les shine. Most guest artists at The Iridium would do their own thing and leave LP only able to comp a few chords and mostly drape his hands over the fretboard.
Remarkable document of humans freely engaged in creating music. Les Paul attracted the very best and viewing this tape reveals how in awe of music still was at age 80. These shows are precious imo and need to be more widely seen. Sadly the vocalist/trumpet player Abram Wilson died: On June 9, 2012 Wilson at the age of 38 succumbed to colon cancer, having married his long-term partner Jennie (née Cashman) the day before, Friday June 8, 2012" en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Abram_Wilson
This is so damn cool it's not funny...! I mean this is the greatest version of this great Les Paul song EVER...! Jeff Healy & Les, WOW...Love your vids Chris...!!! Love Les Paul!.... AND Lou Pallo is just so great on rhythm and Abraham is fabulous on this...!!!! I'm still reeling...!
RIP les paul, jeff "you don't play too bad for a blind white boy" healey AND patrick ("i thought you'd be bigger" swayze........to 'roadhouse' fans everywhere...
It also would've been great to see Les play with another great Canadian guitarist Colin Janes ( who played a live acoustic duet with Jeff and like Jeff played with SRV) because Colin can play just about anything - his big band stuff is great but he plays blues, jazz, and raunchy rock too
Jeff Healey was a god. He was a MAGNIFICENT guitar player, and NEVER, EVER complained about his condition. I had the incredible pleasure of meeting him. He was just such a happy person and he brought joy to everyone around him. So missed.
Man, Jeff played so well.. he is so missed…..
Saw him twice.
Jaw hanging open for an hour and a half

HalleluYAH !
I realy miss Jeff - I would have liked to say hello and gived him a hug. Jeff touch my heart - yes he did ♥️
Jeff's style's unique . One in a million. Broke my heart to learn of his passing. A fascinating person, and one badass guitar player.

@ Pamela Mac Neill: I, too, live inToronto and wholeheartedly agree with you, Pamella.

Never knew this thanks for the info, I loved Jeff's playing.
Just found Jeff Healy's Jazz Wizards last year. Very enjoyable
I think there's still sadness... I still can't believe he's gone

Just when i thought i had seen it all and then this pops up and blows me away.
R.I.P JEFF HEALEY & Les Paul
HalleluYAH!
I knew what a great electric blues player Jeff was, but holy cow. He nailed the authentic Les Paul more jazzy style - Incredible!
I just witnessed two guys communicating like birds through their guitars. I've seen a lot of these videos but this one has a real rapport rather than just someone coming and sitting in with Les. Wonderful.
Well Jeff was always a Jazz obsesso pre record contract and beyond amassing a archival quality collection of 78rpm records.
The love and respect between these musicians. Wow. It doesn't get any better than this.
Brilliant! Two guitar geniuses, two generations, trading licks beautifully. I love this!!! Jeff was here for too short a time, but we are so lucky to be able to enjoy their legacy.
The amazing Jeff Healey. It’s so Wonderful to hear his groovy jazz licks here.
came here because of Jeff, a lifelong hero. But let's give that rhythm guitarist some love to - DAMN! He had to play that chord change for 10 minutes!!! hands of steel
“A blues musician plays three chords in front of a thousand people and a jazz musician plays a thousand chords in front of three people” it's said
That man's name was Lou Pallo.
@@Guitarsthatkill He is phenomenal............................!
What a treat !!! RIP Les & Jeff
HalleluYAH !
Tha was so enjoyable to watch, I miss them both😥
Miss Jeff. Never got the credit he so deserved. Died way to young.
God Bless them all. Abram Wilson, Jeff Healy and of course Les Paul. What a fabulous find! Thank you Chris for such a remarkable, unexpected post! This is a true treasure find! ✌🏻🙏👍🏻👋🏻

Views don't matter ,the music does and the musicians do .
Gibbon and Walsh suck at real music , their just trust fund babies like Dave Crosby. That all.

Terrific. The arthritis hadn't 't gotten Les too badly at that point. Healey was excellent too.
This has to be one of the best versions that I have seen of this classic Les Paul tune! Thanks Chris for publishing.
Mike Z lespaul.org
That was f'n great!. Wish I was there!
Further proof that Jeff Healey was da real deal!
Jeff was a pure 24kt musical genius.
Ohh my god what iv'e seen and listen to, no words for .
You can play the Blues , or you can feel it and let him roll .
What a lost . RIP Jeff
Here are two guitarists that we miss BADLY.
My love to Lou Pallo on rhythm guitar, as well.
If was granted one trip back in time, I would head straight to the Iridium Club on Nov 18 1997 to SEE THIS!
I went to see Jeff in Glasgow in the early 90's, I can't believe it was around 25 years ago man! and almost a decade since we lost him to the great gig in the sky, I bet those are some jams huh? I sold furniture to Jeff's dad (or step dad, can't remember) 20 years ago. Man was he proud of his son.

i haven't seen this footage. Thank you for sharing.
RIP Jeff

Another John A. Wow.
Mostly because those guys couldn’t even dream of playing how high moon!lmao! Jeff was gifted!
Les Paul 's playing goes without saying, but I didn't know Jeff had jazz chops also,he was underrated, but he was bad !
This was an outstanding performance by two Legends and a tight ass band! Thanks for posting this Chris!
Just AWESOME! It brings back childhood memories listening to my Papa jamming with his friends on his electric guitar.
Les Paul = great
Hopefully they headline together in heaven. RIP to two of the greatest!
Absolutely Great!
Now this brought a big smile on my face, luv you guys R.I.P
Abram Wilson! I knew Abram (RIP) - thank you for this treasure!!
Holy holy! Jeff just amazes me , any style what a true genus.
incredible the way Jeff copies the style of Les ! saw him and band rock out (Jeff)
Amazing scat by trumpet player
Healy! so great when Jeff palm mutes then turns to Les and smiles
your great when the guitar god loves listening and watching you play
Two gentle gorgeous human beings.
Or two swingin' hep cats .
The great Jeff Healey...
So great ... just joyous
Joy, and a genuine rapport!
Wow. This is great!!
Makes me want to cry...
I loved this. Such talent.
Lou Pallo is the guy playing rhythm and you can tell he's a Django fan for sure. Sounds like a human metronome.
What ENDURANCE! A brilliant rhythm man
Still loving him
2 absolute beasts...seems like Les was waaaay ahead of his time.
Phenomenal!
This channel is gold.
Just perfect!
Wow! What a night at the Iradium!
Such beautiful sounds from the imagination of a group of beautiful people
Wow just awesome!!!
I loved it!!
перед таким музыкантом я просто преклоняюсь у меня просто нет слов я вам очень благодарен за ваше мастерство и ваш дар к гитаре
Phenomenal. Thanks !
I’ve always thought Les was the greatest, but Jeff was definitely incredible!
Magnificent!
Wow! What an incredible channel you have Chris!
ThX for posting such an incredible performance. 😎👍
And just when i'd thought I'd seen it all from Jeff.

LOVE IT ❤❤❤❤ THANKS
Jeff and my family were all instrumental in raising the bar for the Canadian music scene.
Done
Wow! Best! Super!!!
Kudos gentlemen, that was amazing!
Jeff Healey was a genius!
Strangest scat ever
Wow that's the music right there!
I had no idea Jeff Healy could play jazz like that?!!!!!!!!
Is it just me or is everyone watching these les paul videos?
Me too in UK
Love ❤️ super 🎼🎵🎶🎸✌️🍀👌🍂
Thank you, Chri Lentz

Wow and wow!!!!
Yes thank goodness for Les but to inspire a blind child to play speaks more volumes can ever be said
Great trumpet player also
two geniuses
Must be when Jeff started turning more to Jazz. It's a simple progression, but he handled it well, and with his unique style.
Bellissimo!!!

3 dislikes??? Huh???
Unreal
Making time stand still.
i would love to know if Jeff Healey and Steve Howe ever jammed.
Cheers on the bassist!
That is music

Les was just tickled pink during this whole song!
Excellent talent all round, but I can't help being reminded of Ren and Stimpy.
Sharp
WOW!!!!!!!!!!!
Kudos to the bassist…
