just found this game on xbox game pass & cannot believe how much fun and addicting it is!! hits the mark on so many aspects of gameplay for me & really only thing missing would be some online multiplayer. that all being said i was in need of some help figuring out some of the games mechanics and like many others i came to youtube looking for guides. so glad i found your videos! very good quality help and advice and easy to listen to, thank you for your efforts 🙌🤙
Also just found it on gamepass and I’m hooked. Like it alot better than vampire survivors bc the runs are much shorter and the art reminds me of Isaac. Super fun and simple, will probably buy it to support the dev since it’s like 5 bucks
sweet! glad to see others are finding it like that too & glad i gave it a chance, i mean come on with a game card image like that how could one not check it out?! cheers!
found the game recently too, already have 40+ hours on it, it's really fun, only have done 10 danger 5 with different characters and I'm aiming to do D5 with all characters, this channel is pure gold, i just watch a video and its pretty much guaranteed to win on first try with that character due to how well made are these guides.
Free re-roll is something you always want almost every run, no matter what. I find that in the higher waves, I’m constantly flooded with useless weapons clogging up my shops and the more re-rolls I have, the better.
Very true! I think dangerous bunny will usually pay for itself after 3 waves or so and then it's just free money afterwards, so if you find it anytime before wave 15 it's a must-buy. They also get better in multiples!
Im fortunate enough to have only recently started to play Brotato. Having found this vid at the same time ive followed this guide religiously. Ive unlocked all your "S-Tier" improvements, all the "Large Improvements" & have only Jack & Pacifist's unlocks from the "Slightly Positive" effects range left. These 2 are the hardest charatcers ive found so far to win with, by a LARGE amount!!! Im talking failing at Danger 0 level with these 2 , lol. EDIT: Just managed to grab a win with those 2 at last!!!
I just started playing the game and I have watched like seven of your build guides and gone back to this video multiple times. Something that would streamline the process for me is if you actually had links to each build guide in the video description, going in order from best character to unlock to large improvements, then small improvements, etc. Obviously, that would be a lot of boring work for you. So I keep going back to the playlist and searching, lol
What I would like to see them do is add a locked items page similar to what vampire survivors does in that it just shows a lock and how to unlock the item with a brief description before it unless its a secret. Furthermore after you unlock the items if you complete a danger 5 run on that character class it adds the ability to toggle the items on and off in the store. This not only give incentives to play the game more and on the hardest difficult but gives the player control of the shop without having to beat the system or mod the game.
I would add one thing to this. Some of the character unlock methods take some intent to make happen (like getting to -5 Regen for Sick), so noting what it takes to get into the better unlocks in the first place would make this guide way more complete for those wanting to plan things out.
Characters Unlocks can be done in D0 and once you get the character (s) you want you can leave instantly and avoid unlocking wrong items. It's the easiest & fastest way to unlock characters and in general it's pretty intuitive.
Being a new player to Brotato, your guides have helped me alot, and like how in your tier 1 item list no one pointed out the scared sausage. Well I just noticed that on the “LARGE IMPROVEMENT” page, ‘Crazy’ is labled ‘Speedy’
It's true - most similar games in the genre have a banish mechanic where you can prevent certain items from showing up in the run. It's a little odd Brotato doesn't, but I guess they wanted to keep things simple. I have a video planned where I'll talk about what I think some of the design issues with the game are, this will be in it for sure
I really like the way you approached this list. While personally I would change a few items up or down a tier here or there, I think overall the list and your explanations make sense. My outliers are Stone Skin and Claw. Stone Skin is very niche, most often played with Spiky Shield (because why else would you stack so much armor) and if you already have sufficient health you don't really need to take it, because you just drop your damage. It's an item I would honestly avoid, because I think it is rather bad and below the average power curve even. I would say that Claw actively betters your Unarmed shop, but I often go 3+3 (might change into 4+2 ofc) anyway, because I think it is the better approach to get stronger weapons overall.
Thanks very much! I don't disagree with either of those opinions really, but here's some extra reasoning: I really like Stone Skin not because it will usually be a huge amount of value when you buy it, but because it increases the value of future purchases so much, and cuts down the number of stats you need to buy in the shop. It also has the advantage of improving several of the best items in the game even further (eg. leather vest). It's really an economy item. Claw I think is definitely the best of the bad weapon unlocks, but one issue I forgot to mention in the video is that it adds another weapon tag, so if you mix it into a fist build you start seeing precise weapons as well as unarmed. In my experience that can hurt your shops
I think you made an error. You wrote Speedy in the large improvement section, but it looks like Crazy, since you already used speedy in the S tier section. Am I missing something?
@@Cephalopocalypse Thanks for responding and clarifying that for me. I probably should have included some encouragement in my previous comment; I've been binging your content on Brotato. It is excellent, and you are the most helpful content creator I've found on this game :)
the one that i needed))) Love it) not i'm looking for the video about all enemies, because it's seems i'm still trying to get what all enemies do and sometimes the accordion sound when you kill them. ))
I’m having problems unlocking characters. For example, I can play with Saver (collect 20000 materials), but I didn’t get Lucky (collect 300 materials).. I don’t understand how the system works. Are there any premises to unlock chars? Is there a difference between classic and survival mode? I don’t get it.. PLEASE Help! Thanks!
That sounds like a bug to me - do the acheivements show up on the unlocks screen? And if you're on steam did you get the steam achievement for those numbers? I'm not sure how to fix that kind of thing on mobile but on pc you can try verifying your files or probably get a save from someone on the discord with those characters unlocked.
@@Cephalopocalypse I did some research, and it’s probably because I play on mobile and the free version. Maybe there it’s different. And you have to use spruds to unlock chars. I keep on going and see what happens. But thanks for your help! Great videos and help! 👍🏽
Probably not the first to point out an error in this guide. Hunting trophy isn't unlocked by the Speedy. I'm highly confident, but not absolutely certain, that it's unlocked by Crazy.
I think I do mention it, but only very briefly as just being incredible value - there's not really much more to say! It's 2 items plus some regen for the price of one, that's what I like to see
@@Cephalopocalypse Your character guides have been very helpful. I am very new to Brotato and playing it on Android. I just finished a danger 0 run with Fisherman. Unfortunately, the Android version does not allow manual aiming and you cannot see what waves will have swarms or elites. Thanks for the informative videos.
You'll be fine! The nice thing about this game is that unlocking items is still generally good, and as you add more of the strong items into the pool your shops will only get better!
I might be crazy but crazy is mislabeled as speedy in the large improvements category, thanks for the guide!
Yep, I copy pasted the name wrong

There's a multi-player mod for pc
they just added co op
Main thing about going for unlocks is unless you're really, REALLY good at the game, you can complete all the unlocks on D0 before going for D5.

I loved the "don't eat paint" warning
I was so surprised

Good idea! To be honest it's been so long since i unlocked the characters I just didn't want to have to try to remember if it was easy to do lol

No ability to lock back weapons feels terrible. One should never be punished for achieving full run with a class.

This is so good. Thrash metal with death metal vocals. Killer!
This is the best video for new players it helped me so so much
Thanks so much! :D

Awesome, glad you liked it! You might also be psychic because I have a video about all the enemies coming out later this week!
This is making me really want to make a save file with the perfect shop for my favourite character the engineer! Might just do it haha
That's a cool idea building for specific characters! You could skip all the weapons and most items except regeneration and movement speed
@@Cephalopocalypse I might have already started! Gonna do just that haha
Pretty good video there ! I could have saved so much time if I had this video few weeks ago xD
Anyway thanks for your work, you re helping a lot !
Thanks! Yeah, a lot of this is just making the resources I wish had existed when I started playing the game :P Glad the guides are helping!
Only 4 characters left to complete a run.... Wildling, Saver, Apprentice & Cryptid!
10:45 lies. Ive already blindly unlocked 4 other characters from this page, and still havent gotten ghost.

i just went from well rounded to demon but it took me like three hours to win with streamer
SAVER item unlock should just be in a DISGRACE tier hahaha

Idk man the potatoe should be higher man that alot of the times helps fix any hole ur build has

you labelled crazy as speedy
