The moon does revolve, except the time it takes to complete one axial rotation is the same time it takes to orbit the earth, meaning the same face is always facing the earth. They incorrectly call this a tidal lock, since the earth has more of an influence on the moon than the other way round. The only difference on earth is that the moon appears upside down depending on which hemisphere you are living in. Truth is nobody has, or ever will see the other side of the moon from earth, you see the same side no matter where you live on earth, but you are right, it's probably engineered.

It also takes approximately 27 days for the moon to rotate once on its axis. As a result, the moon does not seem to be spinning but appears to observers from Earth to be keeping almost perfectly still. Scientists call this synchronous rotation. So as the other commenters stated, there is a Far Side of the Moon which we from Earth never do see, but there's no such thing as the Dark Side of the Moon, as it completes a full rotation every 27 days

Truth is nobody has, or ever will see the other side of the moon from earth, you see the same side no matter where you live on earth, but you are right, it's probably engineered.

How does this explain “exactly why kids don’t care anymore”?
As in, if this “information” wasn’t “confidential”, then kids would be so much more excited to learn about STEM and space if they were aware of the totally real giant secret city on the moon that, would obviously offer (& require) thousands of engineers, scientists, technologists to work there!?
If any official uses the term "dark side of the moon", I assume they have no idea what they're talking about.

@@nofretbrett682 the same way there is a dark side of the Earth but no one would ever say it that way. The far side of the moon is the dark side of the moon when we see the full moon from Earth. But yeah people who wouldn't understand that the entire moon all gets the same amount of sun and darkness aren't people who have ever been debriefed on anything real about the moon.

The moon orbits the Earth once every 27.322 days. It also takes approximately 27 days for the moon to rotate once on its axis. As a result, the moon does not seem to be spinning but appears to observers from Earth to be keeping almost perfectly still. Scientists call this synchronous rotation.
So as the other commenters stated, there is a Far Side of the Moon which we from Earth never do see, but there's no such thing as the Dark Side of the Moon, as it completes a full rotation every 27 days
You guys in this thread don't understand what the dark side of the moon is referring to. The moon is always facing us. Always. With the same face. Because it's rotating at the same speed that it's orbiting. The dark side is the side of the moon that the earth never sees. Not literally permanenlty dark.
