Great instruction thank you. I am painting my two dogs at the moment using your guidance and loving the experience, I’m new to painting so your tips are very welcome. What would you do if your reference photo were not so crisp and detailed in the eyes?
Hi Charlotte, thank you very much for following my videos on here. Yes, it can be tricky when you are faced with a reference photo that lacks both in size and quality, and it's difficult to 'make up' the details you can't see. My advice would be to search for the same breed online, similar pose, and use that for some (not all) of the details. You don't want to lose the character of the dog from the original photo. Paul 🎨
You always amaze me. The eye brings life to the painting and the reflections seem to me to be the source of that life. You are the master of reflections in a paintings eyes. You never cease to amaze me. I like painting big cats. I'm trying to learn black. I want to paint some black cats. So far I have mastered black blobs.😟
Thank you so much for your lovely words. Yes, big cats are lovely to paint, remember I do have a play list solely for painting big cat's. Paul ;-) bit.ly/3w1JNgO
@@TheDevonArtist I found that about 4am but the pain had finally worn me out enough that I could sleep for a bit. I'm going to watch them all. I hope. If this CHF doesn't get me first. So much to do, so little time left. Oh well...Thanks much.
Hi, yes the brush is one by Winsor & Newton. I have it listed within my materials list on my website if it helps, Paul 🎨 devonartist.co.uk/materials-i-use-or-recommend-for-realistic-watercolour/
