As a ant sized middle at 5’11 I have found that being a middle that can pass can be beneficial, I’ve passed many hard balls after a nasty float serve which led to a point, mind you my whole teams main goal is passing efficiency, second is serving, third is attacking so everybody can play any position
Being able to step back a bit and pass can help out your passing line for sure. And sounds like your team plays an old-school style. Everyone had to do everything before positional specialization
FiveOne Volleyball kinda yeah, we try to be an extremely interchangeable team, especially for back row, some people are just better at said positions than others, even our Libero is able to throw down some nasty serves
Where would you see the other russian middles? I think you should have at least mentioned them. Vlasov is a bit overhyped, but Volvich is the definition of consistency. In my opinion he belongs on this list. Btw: I really like that you also use stats to create these lists. Another top video.
SImon has talent and hability, Musersky have height and some hability but he doesnt jump for shit thats why simon is more espectacular to watch, but i got to tell u as personal friend that i am of Simon he is not in his prime anymore, i remember when he was only 23 years old, they couldn block him in the middle, i never saw a MB doing more than 20 points and playing in the MB position, Musersky only does that when he is in oppossite position besides Simon was winning medals and individual awards withouth being a pro player can u imagine when he was 20 years some club sign him and never need to leave Cuba, the Volleyball dream team i think only the 2004-2006 Brasil couldnt top that Cuba of Simon, Leon, Juantorena, Leal, Camejo, Hernandez, Marshall and Hierrezuelo, so im glad that u guys at least put him in the top 2 cause even if he doesnt play for NT he worth his weight in gold. Pure RAW talent that with the time got better and bigger thats Robertlandy "The Captain" Simon.
AVP? If he does videos like this on Beach Volleyball he shouldnt only focus on AVP players but the rest of the world as well as theyre better than the US players
@@tobiii999 Not anymore, the US has started to get back into beach volleyball with some new blood, plus many US colleges have picked up beach volleyball as a D1 college sport. Taylor Crabb is getting into his stride, and Phil Dalhausser is probably still in contention for number 1 volleyball player in the world, just Lucena is keeping him from really winning.

Well if you remember the 2012 olympic final then you'd know that Muserskiy doesn't lack any versatility either. Down two sets to none in an olympic final and suddenly thrown into opposite and killing seemingly every set he's given. I don't know what is versatility if not that.
