Barry is a real genius, probably the most complete artist ever lived. When he made this project was only 37 yo, he was probably one of the best musicians of his era, he just produced albums for Barbra Streisand, Kenny Rogers, Dionne Warwick immediately after the planetary success of the Bee Gees in the second half of the 70s, but he never stopped working and discovering till now.
I realize what a masterpiece Now Voyager is as I hear Barry tells the background story of the album. Many strange experiences through each video was experienced in a realm between life and death. And it's a lot about water, sailing on a ship at sea and we saw Barry dived into a pool etc. Was it Barry who wrote all this? Really vivid imagination. Ingenious!
The sceptics of the world don't know what they have missed out on. Some people have made some negative comments about Barry's acting. But my God, he is an absolutely brilliant performer, which is totally evident with his song 'Fine Line'. Would have loved to have seen more of these type of solo performances from Barry.

When this came out, I thought I was the only person on the planet who truly enjoyed it and wanted to see more. The 80's were just an impossible period for the Bee Gees. Ironically it wasn't really until MTV started burning out in the late 80's that the Bee Gees started coming back. I will always remember long hot Summers kicking back and watching this video special and wishing the rest of the world synched up with me.
When I first watched Now Voyager movie, the problem was I didn't really understand what was going on or the plot. But, since then, from reading comments explaining the plot & this video, I can understand & appreciate it a lot more. The music has always sounded good & now even better with the insight behind them. I am going to watch it again.
Whatever Barry does is successful and seeing this vid he is a pleasure to watch.Aside from the vid what impresses me is that he is well educated and not like today's 'celebs"who can't speak proper English.

They lived together for a few years before they got married Their 5 children are really good people with long lasting marriages and families of their own! That is success!! I don't think Barry and his brothers liked the Sgt. Pepper movie and never considered it acting as they never had any speaking lines. They all tried to get out of the movie before it started. Cucumber Castle was made for television and Barry and Mo were so young. I believe he was talking about a real good legitimate well written movie.
I always liked Baz in this interview. He tied to get into acting back in 69, but his acting had a lot to be desired. I never thought NV was a bad, album, it had some good songs. Unfortunately it flopped and MCA ditched his next album.

Don't forget that many of their songs were written when they had a more or less boy girl adolescent hormones going on along with fallout from some drugs and alcohol and lots of tobacco, balanced off by a nice degree of humanism. I no longer am an ardent feminist, I think all humans need to be liberated, and no one scapegoated because its a different era now and we are all learning about our ignorance and conditioned behaviors. Thanx I too am a creaturist and love the idea of Ahimsa. Been Vegan 8 years mostly raw, and vegit before that mostly driven by sympatico with the animals/factory farming horrendous. juie anderson he says clearly that he had always wanted to be an actor but he isnt. he tries to play a role to try new things that life has to offer apart from singing. even if he does a good job you cant compare him to "real" actors
