- In this video, Martyn Ashton is in Saalbach, Austria for the Global Bike Festival, shredding trails and hanging out with GMBN fans on his Bowhead Adaptive Mountain Bike! There's a plot twist though we took the wrong lift and the rest of the GMBN crew are riding elsewhere. Things don't go as planned but we have a great day riding!

Stuart was a legend, riding with and helping out the legend Martyn Ashton. That was epic riding, especially with the arm pump Martyn was getting. Talk about thrills and spills. I would love to see a video with Martyn discussing how he picks his lines on the bowhead, what he looks for in his set up and maybe a skills and tricks video on the bowhead that other bowhead riders could learn from. Open their eyes more for everyone who sees the machine and want to learn more about it and how the great man rides it. Great video. 😎 👍

Takes me back to the late eighties when we pulled John Castellano's (Up and Over Engineering) first attempt at creating an off-road wheelchair up to the top of Briones Regional Park in Northern California for its maiden run. John totally surprised us by going faster through some of the loose turns that we could on our pre-suspension mtbs. Thinking that we laughed the whole way down because the chair was a total winner. Believe that versions of John's chair were used at the Mammoth Kamikaze Downhill at some point. John is also known for his Sweet Spot suspension that Ibis Cycles and other bike manufacturers brought to market...Genius stuff!
I love that I'm seeing Martyn going through the same sh*t that I went through last year when I started mtb'ing again after 15 years of not. The fact that we all go through that "holy crap, how am I this out of shape?" and then realizing that it takes some time to be not-old again is very relatable. Now my wife asks "OMG! What happened?!?!?" and I answer, "Oh, I rode into a tree, it's fine."
Martin's power arms are a point of envy. Inspiring me to do more pushups in addition to going for a ride tomorrow...
It's amazing how Martyn continue to inspire despite everything! Man's forgotten more about MTBing than most riders would learn their whole lives.

This is why mobility issue or no, bike riders should always be in groups, heck any rider, cause horses are fairly unpredctable too and a fall from them can cause massive injury too.
I guess the mix up in trails may have been down to a loss of translation between The Queens English, Zimbabwean English............. and Oo Ahh, Oo Ahh!
