Random tandem, more dangerous than Mega-avalanche, less dangerous than Rampage. About the same as Hardline.
I just found out about Red Bull Hardline (Wales). If you’re not familiar with it check out the 2019 prelim vids on YT. Crazy steep and rocky with several huge gap jumps. It has everything. Not for the faint of heart.

Martyn is a true madlad
He is great. I had a friend who I raced mx with and he was paralyzed below the waist and it almost ended him. I mean that in the sense that he gave up on life and was in a bad way for almost 6 years. I would try to get him to out to do various activities, even just go for a bite and a beer or two. We finally started hanging out(this was 2 years ago)again and he claimed he just woke up one day and decided to change his life and accept what had happened. The reason I mention this is because Martyn was a rock star on a bike and he had that taken away from him. But remains positive and a great inspiration for guys who have been through this themselves(and for everyone else too). He has such a great attitude and I admire that in him.

@@Pienimusta Indeed, as a para-athlete with the usual aids and assistance in transition ( pullbuey for leggs, handbike, etc...) Distance could be whatever is comfortable or achievable (fitness, scheduling, location etc...)
Martyn doing a Para tri would be an incredible series!
My favourite moments of this as always hilarious, wonderful random tandem: Martyn giggling like a luncatic when they fell sideways at the start. Mark's "Hello!" complete with smirk to the poor guy they overtook on the climb. Awesome!

It might be fun to see Martyn take a couple of laps around a velodrome on a tandem with Mayalen Noriega for a random tandem segment. There will be no learning curve needed for her to wheel that bike around. You can ditch the swimming hat for an aero helmet. Great video!

Somehow I get extreme pleasure out of seeing Martyn going down the hill alone because his rear rider abandons him..🤷♂️🤣😹
nice one! maybe shortening that tandem is the way to go. custom rear U-shaped steering bar that goes around martyn's back (or mounts close to his hips bmx style without horizontal bar), martyn's pegs a bit to front so that rear rider can have clearance for pedalling. in one word, to get a much shorter bike, that would be vastly easier to manouvre. think of 2 persons on a motorbike with a steering bar in between. on the plus, bringing the rear rider close will make much easier for him to control martyn's weight left to right.
so length of the vehicle and distance of riders seem to be the main issues.

Mark, you talked about being the fastest at giving your blood, I've never done that, tried two times but it failed, considering it again, but unsure about where to fit it in my schedule, could you do a video about triathlon/sports and blood donating please? How do you organize your workouts around that, what consequences does it have on your recovery, how long before you get back to your normal level, how you deal with the tiredness associated with it and so on? I think it's a great topic that hasn't been dealt even on your sister channels.

Though, chasing this Tandem on the trails will be TOUGH. I know, I tried to chase a friend riding a Giant Dirt E+ on a nearly-damp trail, back in September, with me wearing the usual running gear, including a bit-grippy running shoes. And I wasn't even prepping for an XTerra. 😂😂😂
