It is possible from the video to infer that a mouse can only carry three weapon/armor pieces, and such is not the case. Note that the "Equip" section (P15 of the current Mice & Mystics rulebook) makes a clear distinction between equipped items and items in the pack. We should be careful to mention that equipped items (placed face up in front of a particular mouse) are not in the pack (placed face down in front of the same mouse). It is only when the pack may go beyond 3 that an item must be discarded. Also -- another clarification -- one instance where the "only 3 items in the pack" rule must be applied is in the receiving of searched for items. With a strict interpretation of the rule for "Search" (on P12), successfully searched for items must first go to a mouse's pack. On a successful search, if you want the item and already have 3 items in the searching mouse's pack, you must discard something else in the pack to receive the new item -- and this is even true if you have a slot open in your equipment for the item... even if you want to use your free action to equip immediately, the item still must travel through the pack to get to your inventory & so must push out another item in the process.
Very helpful, thanks--family just picked this up and the rules clarification will help us avoid confusion or missing the subtleties (especially the initiative rules).
I've been told that bonuses stack up but you can only use one weapon. So does this mean that if botch weapons have a bonus for a melee attack but both of them have an effect, does the bonuses stack but only one effect can happen?
We do 2 rules here wrong. I checked the book and you are right. Next time the forces of evil will be stronger. Maybe I should consider to switch sides and ally with Vanestra. Thank you!
one particular house rule can eliminate a good deal of down-time without seriously impacting the game: instead of rolling to move, simply move 1 + the paw value on the hero's card. Scurry would double the total move value (1+paw value)*2. One would still need to roll in the courtyard per the Crow attack rule.
@@CS-ui4qj you still roll to move past yellow, but for all other movement, eliminating move rolls eliminates the least rewarding part of the game and gives you a better experience overall by letting you focus on searching and combat.

I actually played 70% of these rules wrong.
Thanks for the great video!
1:39 where is the mandatory movement-roll at the start of a player's turn being written?

I just got done playing this game for the first time....and realized I missed some rules thanks to this video lol
Thanks. This is helpful as I’m a new player trying to learn how to play.
Such a great game but sooo many rules.. I'm hoping Jerry Hawthorne does a second edition with a different story that streamlines the rules more.
I thought there where only supposed to be 10 rules you might have missed not 14.
I only received 1 "Roche card" is there a separate card for "greedy roach "?
Hiya. No they use the same initiative card - see page 15 of the rules.
Pretty sure that wasn't 10. :P

If, according to the equipment diagram, the weapon only requires a single paw then you may equip two such weapons.
It was hard to hear you a few times and the titles were kind of long, but I did learn at least 1 thing so that is nice.
I apparently forgot how to count to ten. Great video though :)
does anyone knows the music playing? :D
Excellent video! Well done!
Great video... Unfortunate channel name.
I didn't know the Brodie (the Cat) rule...
cool vid.

Why? Plus you need 3 to move against yellow arrows, like when climbing up on something. Rolling a 3+paw really helps.

WTF does he say at 1:07?
"If you need to studuguehfuie the track..."
Not complaining. Legitimately curious.
+wongdeep I think it's supposed to be "set up the initiative track"
I have board game aids
Will I contract BoardGameAIDS if I subscribe to your channel?
way too long titles with alleviator music:(
Soooo how do I use the fishhhook?
Says it's 10 rules you forgot but it's more like 14 rules you forgot
