A project we've been wanting to work on for awhile now is a trellis for our front entry way. Kelly did all the design work, starting off with quick sketches in her sketch book. Once she had an idea of the direction she wanted to go, she moved onto her ipad and used Procreate to draw a design that she could send on to me, so I could export it from Vcarve and get it cutting on the CNC plasma table. Once the three panels Kelly designed were cut, I fabricated a frame around them and welded them together. For the top arch, I rolled the square tubing in my ring roller and then hammered the cutout panel into a rough matching arch shape, before welding it in place, forcing it to match the shape of the rolled tubing as I worked my across the piece. Once the trellis was built, we gave it a coat of paint and called my gramps to help move it into place in front of our entry way with his loader tractor.

I love the trellis! Being so solidly made, it will probably last for generations! Please, please add a little plaque on there with your names and the date. This is too special for your great-grandchildren not to know when it was made!

I don't even know where to begin. It's great to see your two halfs becoming a better whole. As good as your work was before, Kelly's artistic style really brings it all to life. Also holy crap some of your cinematography was so so so good. Love the shot of Maximus's eyes being lit up by the barn ceiling lights.

Awesome to see you and kelly working together on these more recent projects. Love your channel Justin. Thank you for sharing your world with us keep up the great work. The trellis is awesome. So neat how you’re able to take Kelly’s designs and cut them out and create something physical. Can’t wait to see what’s next.

How have I lived 40 years and never thought about owning a trellis that can double as a jungle gym. I could see 6 year old myself climbing that. Very cool video and a great project. Kelly rocks.

What a beautiful trellis another amazing job well done guys from the Land down Under ❤️ Kelly my parents and eldest brother was born in Dublin Ireland. My twin sister and one brother of my brothers were born in London as my parents had to go there for work and we were born. I have lived on the east coast of Australia for most of my life now and love it. But in my heart we all still call Ireland home. God bless you both. Xx

I love the Maximus element. The shadow cast is so cool. Either having the imagination to know that would work out so well or the gumption to try anyway on such an unconventional motif is what really sets work like this apart. Great job. Love the teamwork.

Watching this I thought back over the years about how technology has made creativity so much easier. While plasma cutters/torches have been around for a long time it's only recently that they have become economical enough for the hobbyist to own. The same with CNC machines. And 3D printing. With these machines, and a little help from a laptop (that everyone has at least one), you can turn virtually anything you can conceive of into reality. What will happen in the next 20 years?

Nice video! When your welding around others it's smart to give them some uv rated safety glasses to prevent getting flashed. Cause it sucks really bad, and the safety glasses don't let the uv burn through :)
