I've been watching your channel for hours! I sent videos to my dad. He said "why have we never thought of this" lol. He is going thru videos picking meals he wants me to do for him.❤❤❤
2nd baby coming via c section in 56 days so trying to fill my freezer since my Husband is a truck driver so he won’t always be around to help. Blessed to have seen this video!!!!
I just subscribed to your channel and joined Facebook. You freeze the raw vegetables…onions, peppers, etc. and their texture is still good after cooking? I never saw that before.
I made so many of these to try! I was so inspired and they are easy, yet taste so good! There were a couple of ingredients I couldn’t find (I’m from Australia) but I look forward to watching the rest of your videos! I love that I don’t have to think about what’s for dinner! This is awesome thank you!
I would put the BBQ sauce in the chicken then use the vinegar to get the rest of the sauce out of the bottle. 😊 I found a cream of bacon at my local dollar general, it took my tator tot casserole to a whole new level.
I am picking out some of these recipes, but I'll have to do a little more prep and such than you guys. I don't like jarred or processed sauces, so I'll have to make my sauces first and then do the meals prep. I'm trying to cut out as much pre-made foods as much as possible. I'm collecting recipes and organizing myself for a shopping day, then prep, prep prep! I usually buy lean 3 pound ground beef chubs out here when they go on sale for about 10 bucks each and do about 100 meatballs (baked and frozen in packs of 18 (just 3 of us), burgers, meatloaf and packs of pre cooked beef. Also meals have to be low carb and low sugar as I'm a Type 2 Diabetic this past year. You guys have got me excited to freezer meal again. I did it before when I was pregnant, I was nesting and the theory was to Heat-eat-sleep. Easy meals that could just go in the oven to heat up and my hubby could make a salad to go with it. It was such a blessing, because I'd had a C-section too. Fridge freezer is getting cleaned out and it's going to be mostly freezer meals now! I just "warned" my husband that I'm going to be making a HUGE shop, will have to go into the city to Costco! Thanks from another Sharla!
Ha! I LOVE the enthusiasm! Making the sauces from scratch will definitely add considerable time but if it's important to you, go for it! The nice part is these are totally customizable with a little bit of effort. The pay off is worth it!! You'll be so happy to see those meals in your freezer again. Thanks for watching!
These will last both our families about three months. We get together to do these marathon sessions once every 3 months and then in between, I do freezer lunches, snacks, and breakfasts, but don't have to worry about dinner again for a long time.
Here’s one: ua-cam.com/video/QwJOxnNMD4A/v-deo.html If there’s something you want me to go into more detail about, let me know and I’d be happy to do a future video on it!
with the meals that need a jar of sauce, could I just put the meat and seasonings and whatever cut up fresh vegetables in the freezer and add the jar of sauce on the day of cooking? I have a small freezer.
Yes, you probably could do that to save space, unless it's needed as a marinade. But then, you could still add it as it's thawing and allow it to marinate. There's no "right way" for many of our recipes.
@@FreezerMeals101 I know here in the States they are not as strict as in Canada about recycling, so this would make it easier to just toss the bottle into recycling vs the garbage.
@@FreezerMeals101 this got me thinking of an odd video, but could you do one on how you dispose of the recycle items as you go to make clean up smoother for Americans? I am presuming this is something else you ladies have perfected to ease your process too.
Hello! How do you figure out the financials for cooking together and sharing meals? In one video you said something about not buying certain things because they were in your pantry. Does that get figured in it is it just a matter of “close enough?” IAlso, maybe it’s a USA/ Canada thing, but what you can “flat freezing,” we call “flash freezing.” Kinda cool💙
We kind of go with a "close enough" when it comes to using things from our pantries. Quite honestly, we don't even do up the receipts anymore because we had so many times where her grocery lists (Costco and Bulk Barn) were within a few dollars of mine (local grocery store) that we just stick to our system and know that it all works out in the end. But when we used to do up the math, we would take our receipts and cross off anything bought for personal use (toilet paper, snacks for our kids, etc.) and then divide up the rest.
You can try using the shorter cake pans for meals that need to go in a pan. They are 9x13” but shorter in height (2”) so you don’t have all of that wasted space at the top.
I keep watching your videos and love them, so easy and so yummy. May I ask which cooking method you use? Slow cooker or stove top? Do you thaw them out before cooking? Thanks!
Thank you! We thaw the meals before cooking. Some are for the slow cooker, some stovetop, and some for the oven or even the BBQ. We like to have a variety. Each recipe listed in the description has the cooking instructions.
first off, love your channel, so many idea's to help my DIL out, can you use reg milk for the tater tot casserole since they don't like the taste of evaporated milk,
not sure why you dont have more subs. i am going to share on my facebook that i use just for games! I have probably 4000 friends so maybe i can get you more subs!
Of course we still eat fresh vegetables too, but for right now in our lives, the convenience of frozen vegetables (which are still healthy for you, by the way) outweigh the work of preparing fresh vegetables from scratch every day. If that is something that's really important to you, the meals that just have a protein and a marinade may be more suitable. 😊 Thanks for watching!
Some of our recipes have all the ingredients precooked so that they can just be reheated. I especially steer towards those types when I'm making single serving freezer meals for my dad or mother-in-law so that they can just heat them in the microwave.
Christie and I (Sharla) are neighbours and friends. When we do our large freezer cooking every 3 months, we do it together which makes it way more fun!
I'll attempt to defend it by saying butter chicken from scratch is a big process! The Costco butter chicken tastes amazing and is easy. For those that don't mind using a jar of sauce, it's great. For those that want to skip it to make it from scratch, they are welcome to it. For me, the trade off is that I get to have two meals in my freezer that I wouldn't have had if I had to make it from scratch and that works for me. ❤️ Thanks for watching!
you ladies are amazing thank you so much!

Freezer meals help soooo much after a new baby. Congratulations! All the best to you as you welcome this precious new one to your family!
Just did a weekly freezer meal prep this past weekend. Doing more this weekend. Going to two weeks. Thank you for the inspiration.
I'm so glad to hear it's going well for you!
This is fantastic! I so appreciate you both, thank you for putting this all together for newbies like me!
Right here you are the best

Great idea on getting the last bits out of the BBQ sauce. I'm going to try to remember that for next time!

Looks delicious! There are 2 of us and these all look like they would make good leftovers. Need ideas! So tired of thinking about what to eat.
That is my absolute favourite part of having freezer meals - never having to decide what to make!
im binging on your video's .. awesome content for sure ...very interesting and you make it look doable... so bonus 🌷🌷
Thanks so much! This comment made my day!
I just discover your channel. I love it. How long do those meals last you?

Just discovered your channel and I love it. I have to tell you, one of my kids favorite meals is tator tot casserole.❤️
It may not be the healthiest, but it's a kid pleaser for sure!

For your bbq sauce, reserve a small portion of water to shake in the bottle to get the last of the sauce out.
I always do this with pasta sauce so I don’t know why it didn’t occur to me to do it with BBQ sauce! Thank you for pointing that out.

Ravioli Bake sounds much better than I what I have been calling it, which has been Lazy Lasagna.
first off, love your channel, so many idea's to help my DIL out, can you use reg milk for the tater tot casserole since they don't like the taste of evaporated milk,
Unfortunately, milk does not freeze well at all. You can use heavy cream or sour cream in place of the evaporated milk though.
How long to cook the crack chicken please?
Cook in your slow cooker on low for 4-6 hours. Shred and enjoy!
Add a can of mixed vegetables to the tator tots casserole
I would do the opposite for the tatertot casserole add soap mix and meat then cover in pan with tatertots.
the bright side of the foil should be towards the food
I thought you couldn't freeze sour cream? Is that right? or it can be frozen but it just doesn't thaw well and is grainy??
Sour cream freezes well in recipes. In fact, some of our favourite meals (like the ground beef stroganoff) use it.
So impressed by this ❤ you two are amazing! Thank you for sharing all this!
What state are you guys from?
We are in Canada actually!
not sure why you dont have more subs. i am going to share on my facebook that i use just for games! I have probably 4000 friends so maybe i can get you more subs!
