just found this channel and honestly i was laughing all the way through. you are really good at what you do man, very knowledgable and genuinely funny!
Evidently it goes something like this: V: standing for the engine configuration; and Strom: German for "stream" or "power." That's the legend anyway. Now? With the V-Strom 800DE, the V: nothing.
Holly canolli mate! That was awesome! I was laughing so hard haha and so true..most names ;) love the style, such original approach! Love love love it! More pls more plz more plz greetings form Down Under! So cool.. still thinking about the jokes haha
I had a VF 500 Interceptor back in the day. Bought it showroom new. It was a fun bike. Some names for consideration if you have a round 2... Yamaha Fazer and Yamaha V-Max, It would be interesting to see how they would be ranked. I liked the eliminator name but it definitely deserved a cooler bike. Someone mentioned the Katana... That was a cool looking bike ahead of it's time.
If I'm not wrong, V-Strom means V-power sort of in German. Apart from naming certain things Japanese, Suzuki also name some other stuff in other languages as pointed out collectively; Latin, French, German, so on.
If I remember correctly, The GSX-R 750 was named "Slingshot" I know it wasn't on the bike, for insurance reasons, but I believe that was the official name for it. ( Could be wrong) Gotta add a few others Honda Hurricane ( first gen CBR 600) Yamaha Radian. ( FZR 600 motor, in a "it's kinda like the V-max...but affordable and smaller". That was a screamer bike. Suzuki Bandit 400 ( that was a SWEET inline 4 bike) lack of sales, so kept the name, but reshaped it to something ugly, and made it a 600, and 1200. :/ Little tidbit of info The Suzuki Katana, was called that to steal sales from the Ninja market. Because...ahem.. "katanas cut through Ninjas". Too bad the Ninjas kept breaking the katanas....in performance. The Hayabusa was named so, because it's the Japanese name for the Peregrine Falcon... Which EATS blackbirds.( The Super Blackbird from Honda was the fastest production motorcycle, at that time.) Yamaha had a 250 ......sport bike crossed with an Enduro... TDR. "Light burner" in Japan. ( Before the fad of making an Enduro, with street tires, and street intended hop ups, ever was a thing here in the states.
I owned both a 1998 VFR800 Interceptor and a 2002 CBR1100XX Super Blackbird at the same time back in the day. Yeah I was living the dream. I have to completely agree with your assessment.
Even though with a look of disdain you shelved to the C tier my baby, my only reason to put pants on in the morning, my Doo, Doo, Duke 890R!😭.. I still need to thank you, someone had to tell me the truth🤣 Had asked this woman if she wanted to sit on my Duke and go for a ride.. she slapped my face!
The only reasonable thing for you to do now is let me take your 890R off your hands for a symbolic £1, that way you can move on unencumbered with your life. Namaste
@@UrgetoRide £1, that might hurt! Seriously though your videos are really good, have notifications turned on and you’ll always get a👍 from this Dukie boy. God that sounds week, but you get what I’m throwing down. Keep up the great work..
This is a great list and you should be hired as a consultant when a company wants to introduce a new bike. I agree with all of your grading except for the Suzuki Hayabusa. I think it’s great.
Fantastic episode. However calling "Raptor" an English name is a bit of a stretch since it is the same dead Latin. Aprilia Tuareg, MV Agusta Brutale and Superveloce need to go on the chart too.
Need a name for that MTT 420RR Helicopter engined crazy machine. Even the military has decent names for its aircrafts: Superfortress, Mustang, Skytrain, Liberator, Corsair, etc (early 1900's anyway).
VStrom is a cool name, I'd put it as B at least. How about: Triumph Bonneville (oh, you have a Cadbury?) Triumph Trophy Triumph Rocket (hey girl, you want to ride my Rocket? ) Suzuki Katana (only cool to Japanophiles) Suzuki Bandit (sounds cool) Yamaha Thunderace/Thundercat (yup, for manga lovers only) Kawasaki Concours Honda Africa Twin Honda Super Hawk aka VTR1000F Ducati Multistrada Ducati Desmosedici ( S tier worthy) HD Fat Boy (sounds naughty when you say, wanna ride on y Fat Boy?)

Kawasaki Vulkan, 6. MotoGuzzi Griso, 7. Laverda Jota, 8. Royal Enfield Himalayan, 9. Vespa Primavera, 10. GasGas Pampera… And so on. And yes - ”Honda Monkey” is the most important, since it is one of extremely few names that evolved from the public - and Honda adopted it! It started as Z100, CZ100, Z50… Z50 (A, j…) lived for many, many Years. Honda tried to add “mini trail”, but finally, Monkey was the only way to go. It was already in everyones mouth! (Then followed Gorilla, Ape…). That said - your videos are fenomenally good! Super entertaining. Good stuff. But… you missed all the above namnes, so… Do another video! 😀
Kawasaki Eliminator. Great bike, great name Buuuut they ruined it COMPLETELY by putting it on the 125. The original Kawsi Eliminator 600 was a boss bike. Utter sleeper hence the name. Thanks for the comedy 🤣 at least. God mode to Shadow relm. Class
Suzuki Katana And the Honda Fireblade that’s 2 good names right there !
This channel is about to blow up!
Sukuzi Habayusa?!! Were you typing with your feet? 😆
Loved my Dorsoduro and so glad you ranked it first and an “A” at that! Again from Aprilia, the “Shiver” is probably F or D tier, IMHO.
As a Shiver owner I have to agree the name sucks.
@@nicerides9224 Hahaha! Same engine as the Dorso, so it's a great bike (though I've never ridden one). But that name.... 😆
Your channel is extremely underrated!
Wut? You didn't do the herluh-davisonnn FLXTRQYZ night fister glide?!?!?!?!?!?
You’re very entertaining and good on camera my man! Keep it up 👍
You should make part 2 of this, so much fun
Very cool video, dude!! I only desagree with Hayabusa. It's a cool name even in Brazil for a japanese bike!! 🇯🇵 C ya.
I cracked so hard with the typo bs on the VStrom, I've been saying it forever! And the Gladius uncoolness... XD

Royal Enfield Bullet, Triumph Thunderbird, Triumph/BSA Rocket 3, Moto Guzzi Eldorado, Moto Guzzi California, Ducati Desmosedici, for the shadow realm, the Harley Davidson Fat Boy.
Hey man! Finally! What a great bike channel that I don’t fall asleep too. Like Yammie, from the spite days without the arrogance and the shouting.
IMO the runner up is the Fireblade, it was mistranslated from lightening and the outright winner is the Hayabusa, it preys on the Blackbird

I have groms disease and I want to add, in Hayabusa the B is pronounced as a big cheap subwoofer
I was waiting for the black shadow from the beginning of the video.

The bird of prey that eats blackbirds (Honda). It's so funny. Hahaha

I believe there is a cool story behind the name Hayabusa. Hayabusa means peregrine falcon, which prey is the Blackbird - Honda Blackbird. 😮
