- The University of Georgia Police Department is investigating the death of a woman on campus after she failed to return from a run.
Officials have identified her only as a nursing student at Augusta University.
UGA's police department says it received a call from a person who was concerned about their friend around 12:07 p.m. Feb. 22. The caller said their friend had gone for a run near the Intramural Fields earlier in the day and had not returned as expected.

Having some fear is a healthy reaction if people would think why they were feeling it. It's a warning system that can save your life. You don't have to live in fear, just make better decisions when going out. And being with 2-3 people the odds are better for safety. And carry bear spray.......

Hhmmm, this is reminding me of the Rachel Morin case from Maryland. She, too, was killed while running on the Maw and Paw trail last August 2023. Be safe young people. Go in groups. Praying the suspect will be found soon.

I lived there. They (law enforcement) are very tight and protect the University from any adverse reporting. The Uniiversity has a lot of big time money, students there are from high-end society. Im surprised this was reported. Apparently any attempts to smother this news wasn't successful. Most of the time incidents are not reported and referred to as rumors. UGA is squirming trying to shake this.

It’s a college campus. I remember walking that campus as a student at 2 am and never thinking about the danger that could be there. You assume you’re safe. This isn’t Chicago or NY where perhaps it’s more common. There hasn’t been anything like this at UGA in over 20 yrs, so this isn’t business as usual.
