It's me or ABA's super is so satisfying like the grunts, the animations(in general as well) It's so sick! Used to play her in xx and now i see Gobou at it i am like dang...pleasant gameplay!
I think, at least for her rage super aside from the excellent animations on it’s own, a lot of the charm came from her expression. Look at her *angry* facial and her animation gives the vibe that she is *really* gonna kill you, no wasting time shouting move or doing extra poses, she doesnt have the technique to use a weapon effectively and she doesnt need to, she got a personal grudge and a monster axe with teeth for it’s blade and it will absolutely kill your soul, a thousand deaths. Then 20 more. And then some And the final blow is just so good in my opinion. When she cash out the meter to deal damage, the multiple hit stop while the axe sticking in her opponent, contrast to the previously three seperate but powerful blow, really gives the feeling that its not just hurt, *it stucks*
I always founded A.B.A. and Delilah to be incredibly similar, both are young girls really attached to a living object, have zero social skills and both of them haves a look that tells you that it has been days since their last nap. Back when she wasn't in Strive, A.B.A.,was the character who I wanted the most to become playable in Strive, and Delilah was to closest thing to her, so I used to nickname her "Mini-A.B.A. "
LOL this is something I noticed too and is one of my favorite archetypes actually. I grew up playing all Guilty Gears (a lot of peeps seem to think ABA came from +R but it was actually my beloved Isuka), and characters like Zato, Zappa, and A.B.A gave me a sort spot for creepy duos. Now that I'm older, I always main the character who's paired with a creepy abomination. GGST's Bedman?, GBVSR's Nier, DNF Duel's Enchantress, Arcana Hearts Eko and Lieselotte. My profile pic is Vex from LoL, a green haired, goth yordle with zero communication skills because she hates people, and she's paired with Shadow. My second favorite character was of course Annie, paired with the abomination Tybaulk (Tibbers). My favorite Star Rail character is of course, Huohuo, green haired lethargic character paired with her Tail, an incredibly strong fox ghost. I think this trope stems from the classic Creepy Girl + Doll trope in early horror movies, as girls were underestimated, only for the other party to find the roles reversed. I really like duo characters, and I'm obsessed with horror, so giving duos this trope for me is rad. This usually makes me a puppet player by virtue in fighters, but I love duos like Bedman? and Celica as well, where one party isn't even a fighter yet but the developers find a way to put them in. There's a Mystery game called Rain Code, and while not exactly a duo, there's a goth, self absorbed, lethargic character named Vivia Twilight, with green/black hair. He is an astral projector, so his art always features two silhouettes of himself. I think this theme often gives characters green hair, because green is often associated with gloominess, toxicity, or ghosts. Delilah is expriencing grief, Vex and Vivia want to literally die, ect!
Idk if you look at strives history technical chars are usually overshadowed by leo, may, sol, ram, nago ect who are more consistent under pressure, unless they are really breaking the games rules like HC. Seems like it would be hard to be consistent in tourney with her since things can go wrong easily
@@mattsheehan3604 Yeah that's absolutely true. It would be nice if arcsys could balance the game to better reward complexity in characters and game plans etc.
@@mattsheehan3604Yeah that seems to be the story in Strive. Like she's not a bad character but there are a ton of variables to manage and aspects of the rage meter/timer that are out of your control. Mistakes are significantly more punishing and you have to play around more contingies than the top tiers. She can steamroll people and win a round in 15 seconds, which is not a trash-tier thing to do, but it doesn't make her top-tier either. I'm also curious to see Gobou take this into a tournament though, I think he and a few other players could make top 8s or even win, but I don't think she's cracking top 10 on the cast. Which is fine imo she should be an enthusiast character for freaks. Like you don't fight her much but when you fight a good one you're like, man. what the fuck
As long as you don’t let a bedman get pressure on you, you’re good. You typically are gonna want to save either burst or meter for YRC. Burst is especially good against bedman because several of his attacks are VERY long, making burst baiting during them impossible. Reverse cancel also has uses against him.
as a bedmain this is easily one of the least fun, worst matchups i've ever had to deal with. i thought dealing with Sin and his netplay overheads was bad, but ABA is a whole nother level.
@@josh___something I'm not sure what you're trying to say, but yes, letting her enter her wincondition is your lose condition. You said it yourself, her gimmick is that shes worthless unless she can enter moroha
@@GoomensteinWhy you acting like ABA changing modes is hard? Only way you can really keep her out is if your a zoner and even then she starts out with 50% jealous rage 💀
That first round was personal
Im very conflicted here because im a bedman main and i want to root for the home team. On the other hand i want aba to win to shut up all the doomers
I love the God eater super aba has. Key clearly has oracle cells.
