  • Fearless Parkland students Jaclyn Corn and Cameron Kasky spoke to Joy Reid ahead of the March for Our Lives, saying that they are able to help lead the student push for gun reform because of great teachers who should be paid for helping students learn, ‘not packing heat.’

      I believe you most likely think this is staged as well Stephen. How can anyone in their right mind not see the theatrics at play and not be able to see the implications in all of this? Has the American people become so brainwashed that they cannot see the impetus for these kids to be used and manipulated in order to progress the Marxist agenda to remove our weapons? Can you not see the blatant staging of events, such as this protest? Who payed for all of this to happen? Who bought the buses, the stage, and everything else? Why not sit down and go over the evidence from the beginning as those of us that are concerned with truth?

    As a high school teacher, I see sophisticated, thoughtful, and articulate students like this every day; they are not the exception.The stereotype of teens being ignorant, self-absorbed, and apathetic is the exception.

      I agree with you. But our system of uncontrolled mercantilism and consumerism it's only interested in their purchasing power. Aldous Huxley wrote a great description of our modern society and told us that this is what would happen: the people who control society only want automatons and unfortunately if you see many of the derogatory comments directed at these students there are large swaths of the (adult!!!! ) population who are nothing but.

      I disagree, and I feel just arrogant and traumatic, also selfish. I understand that those kids because we did 2016. I'm Korean and if you remember the candle protest, you realize what I'm saying. But one major difference is, Korean kids are not acting like that; actually they studied topic, educate themselves, and not yelling one side.
      Now, the problem is, I never seen any of differences between what those kids said and what did liberal politician said and failed. I'm really uncomfortable about that, because seems like a child abuse. I really want to know that who gave those misinformation.

      monkeygraborange, If you read my statement, I said the teenage stereotype is the exception. Do kids do stupid things? Yes, of course. People do stupid things as adults, too. My point is that in my experience (13 years secondary education) I've seen more teenagers speaking intelligently, thinking critically, and acting responsibly than I've seen eating Tide pods.

      Cakes Man, Can you please provide some evidence to support your assertion that these students are somehow indoctrinated with Marxist thinking? It seems to me quite the opposite. They are acting democratically, calling for elected representatives to act on their behalf. There's no call to violently overthrow the bourgeoisie.

      These students were in a mass shooting. They knew the people who were shot. Why this time? Why now? It is the tipping point. How to predict what will make a tipping point is almost impossible. Here is the definition of tipping point: The point at which an issue, idea, product, etc., crosses a certain threshhold and gains significant momentum, triggered by some minor factor or change.

      +Don Williams Chicago has a lot more problems than just guns. I live in Illinois I can assure you hospital and schools close in Chicago on a rate that does not compare anywhere else in Illinois. why? because curupt politicians take everything from poor people in Chicago leaving the people in such a poor state that they feel that there is no up side to life even though they are the richest city in Illinois. this has been spoken time and time again how many more reporters have to go into Chicago before someone listens?

    This peaceful but purposeful protest activity gives them control of their lives once more. They find the ability to stand and still speak is a manner of grieving and reestablishing confidence to step forward, to overcome whatever fear the gunman left tracking across their psyches. They may not be fearless but they are brave enough to step up, to speak over the repetitious thoughts and prayers that always allowed legislators to side step doing their jobs. The students could not be told 'now is not the time, let the victims grieve', being the victims gave them the power to step into the void Republicans forced 'out of respect'. MSD students spoke up when ask about their tragedy, they said respect is given by hearing what we want - gun reform now. Our tragedy is in not having gun regulations, do your job. The country listened.

    Why are certain people so afraid of not having guns? I have lived in some of the most dangerous places in the U.S. and traveled the world, as a 5 foot 3 woman, and have never had to have a gun. I have been in dangerous situations where I was able to protect myself WITHOUT a gun, and I am not even trained in hand to hand combat. Why are the people who have guns so fearful? Of what? Will not having a gun keep you from getting a job? No. Will not having a gun keep you from eating? No. Will it keep you from breathing? No. Will it keep you from being educated? No. Will it keep you safe? Not necessarily. Statistically people who live with guns, and in particular women and children are more likely to be wounded or killed by guns than people that are not. What are people so afraid of? And for the rest of us who live our lives peacefully WITHOUT the use or need of firearms, shouldn't we be concerned about neighbors who are so FREAKED out by God knows that they need to surround themselves with deadly weapons?

    Why do teachers permit students to bully and torment fellow classmates rather than show empathy for reaching-out with compassion? Parkland students drove a troubled young person who needed help into becoming a murderer. We need laws that hold teachers criminally liable when they contribute to causing these 100% preventable tragedies.

      DD: He is afraid to confront those whom he cannot stare down, order around, or bully, and that includes any crowd that is not packed with adorers, much less one of hundreds of thousands of teenagers and their supporters who are not impressed by his bluster (they know the emptiness of the brain behind the bluster of bullies in school), nor his money, nor his title. (Please give an example of the opposite if it exists. In particular, explain his meekness and timidity towards Pres. Putin.) He is a weak leader: all image, no substance. That includes The Wall, which would have little if any substantive effect on illegal immigration but rather be an edifice people will always call "Trump's Wall". Anybody remember the Emperor Hadrian for anything but the wall that bears his name? According to Anthony Everitt, "Hadrian's Wall was partly constructed to reflect the power of Rome and was used as a political point by Hadrian." Sounds plausible as the real reason Pres. Trump so desperately wants this wall built while he is president. Afraid to be confronted by those who refuse to back down, he hides in the safest place he knows, where he will have his every whim satisfied without a flaw. (And he criticized former Pres. Obama for playing golf now and then.) He is now going to hide behind the likes of Pompeo and Bolton and the rest of those from Fox News who adore him, so that he doesn't have to confront a Tillerson or a Cohn or a McMaster. They were not interested in his entertainment value to the nation and he could not go toe to toe with them, without coming out on the short end. Obama could have. Bill Clinton could have. Even Reagan, coming from a Hollywood background, could have. McCain could have. Hillary could have. The "he doesn't get along with them" flaw that those former Trump Admin. officials had was simply that they were not worshippers and wouldn't act like it. That is the only qualification Pres. Trump requires. Either Pres. Trump or the nation is going to suffer badly from this. It is not possible that both will prosper.

    • @martiwaterman1437
      @martiwaterman1437 6 років тому +4

      Trump is in Mar-a-Lago because despite his incessant bluster and bloviating he is at his core a coward afraid of confrontation. He needs fall guys and gals to do the dirty work for him so that he doesn't get his own hands dirty. That's why he demands loyalty from others yet never offers loyalty in return. However, don't be fooled, Trump has "unclean hands" to use the legal vernacular. He can't hide those small unclean hands for much longer.

    High fives to Jaclyn & Cameron & all the March for Our Lives students who've already accomplished more than all the other rallies & marches of the past combined!!!. The GOP & NRA are pulling the hair out of their heads & biting their nails after watching last Saturday's huge turnouts coast to coast!!. If you can keep it up & if the Class of 2018 Seniors can pass the baton to incoming new Seniors in September, and put non-stop pressure on the GOP & NRA, we may yet get a BLUE tidal wave of votes sweeping over this country & get the laws changed! We've already seen proof that it can happen in special elections in solid "Red" states. Keep up the goof fight - and watch out for the sneaky GOP & NRA tricks.

    The students while they got their causes just don't have all the facts to the mental health aspect of the gun control issue. Mental health is not just about having a mental health evaluation as part of the permitting process. Mental health aspect means if a person has as the student in this video says a demonstrated history of being in counseling being in mental institutions being in trouble with the law for mentally based issues then they don't get again the Aurora Colorado shooter would not have had a gun had his history been checked the Sandy Hook shooter would not have had a gun because of his history the only shooter I can think of that probably would not have you have been in a permission to seek a permit would have been the Columbine shooters as they were still in high school and they shot up Columbine. Mental health needs better resources in addition to the mental health eval part of the permitting process.

      @brandymoore7755 6 років тому

      Yeah that's exactly what I mean... That's all they base it on is just only if they are a felon... They don't look deeper into they're history... Like if they had assault and battery charges or if they have spent time in a mental institute for harming themselves or tried to harm another person... Because if they knew more about customers that have came into they're shops then they would know that this doesn't sound like a mentally stable person to own a gun... Gun shops should have their customers sign a paper like the way schools and doctors do saying they have permission to get records from facilities they been to

    • @brandymoore7755
      @brandymoore7755 6 років тому

      And not only should they do more thorough checking but they should also put them to a test when buying a gun... Just like getting a drivers license... I wanna see how you respond to certain things like noises or how you load and unload and how you use it... Cause not to many people know how to use common sense anymore... I mean for we have college students eating tides pods and these are probably kids that wanna guy hand guns.... That scares the shot out of me

    The teachers did not do a great job with these kids. Why don't they debate one of their peers Kyle Kashuv?

      I seriously doubt it. I seriously doubt that these two know the difference between automatic and semi automatic. The lack of basic knowledge was evident with these two

    Weapons are allways a sign of weakness not strength.Did Jesus ever used a weapon?Are you a christian?If so ,why not follow his example ?

    • @G4LCTC
      @G4LCTC 6 років тому

      Weapons are a necessity of life for defense. Are you you going to claim that animals are wrong for using their claws, fangs, or venom for defense? No reasonable human would condemn the use of force in self defense. Jesus' weapon was and is the truth. Remember when he used justified violence in the temple? Truth IS a weapon. True weakness is inaction when having the means act but choosing not to.
