I live in Ontario, and I've never had any of those cow candies, i hope they were good, when you first opened them I thought they looked maybe like maple syrup toffees because of their colour, love the taste tests!
British man tries Canadian treats. Canadian viewer watched video. British man enjoys most of the Canadian treats. Canadian is happy. Canadian subscribes. I don't know what that was, but it was nice seeing someone from a different country try some Canadian stuff. Usually I see like Americans trying British stuff, and it gets kinda repetitive but this was fresh. :) Plus it was an over the top (in a good way. Trust me, I laughed a ton) "review" and yeah, just awesome stuff. :D
Yeah, I noticed as well that on some Barry showed the French side, but I just assumed maybe it was sent from Quebec so maybe he did it on purpose...? Either way, totes agree :)
I'm a Canadian living in Australia right now so watching this made me miss some of these treats, especially the coffee crisp and caramilk! Glad to see you really enjoyed them! :)
unless they where sent from Quebec. Everywhere in Canada we have to have the English/French packaging, but in Quebec they can get away with French only.
There are certain things he had that are not exclusive to Canada, but still aren't common across seas. Things like the pretzel M&M's, I'm pretty sure are American. Smarties are Canadian, but there is nothing special about Smarties. Whoppers are American too, but you can get both Maltesers and Whoppers in Canada.
Not sure what smarties you are talking about, there are the delicious chocolate ones we have in Canada, it the hard ones Americans have and we call Rockets?
Nolan Rooney Yeah I was shocked after I did some research to find that a lot of those things are exclusive (or near exclusive) to Canada. I guess that's the funny thing about Canada; we do so much business with the States and absorb so much of their culture, it can be hard to tell at a glance what is ours and what is theirs.
Crispy Crunch has such an intense following in Canada they haven't had to advertise in years, the last time I saw a TV commercial for them was in the 90s. Their tagline was "The only thing better than your Crispy Crunch is somebody else's" and the commercials had people stealing bars from other people.
You never fail to put a smile on my face! I always get a little bit too excited when i see a new video from you! Thank you for putting a smile on my face!!
alyson fry I'm sure Ritz are available in quite a few countries. Although, from checking the box...they are made with Canadian cheese, so I guess that's why they qualified as a Canadian snack.
I was so excited to see your reaction to the Icy Squares and the Caramilk bar - but saving the Coffee Crisp for the end was perfect. Ha ha ha! It's my favourite bar and totally worthy of Bryan Adams. As for the RItz - not certain that was actually cheese ;-) This was awesome Barry, thanks for the great laugh - going out to buy myself a Coffee Crisp now. xo
Lyndsay !!! Fancy meeting you here !! Hilarious !! I LOVE (well loved before vegan lol) Icy Squares OMG they are the best !! Barry Lewis Best way to eat a Coffee Crisp is one layer at a time. Or at least have of it LOL
My favorite is Crispy Crunch. Love it !! You did a good job explaining everything Barry. There's an actual street in my neighbourhood called "Mike Myers" which is the area where he grew up.
You should also try Ganong fruit jellies...closest to the UK version I have ever tried over here. (Ganong is Canada's oldest chocolate and candy company. Established in 1873, Ganong has been an innovator responsible for many Canadian confectionery firsts: Delecto boxed chocolates, Chocolate Nut Bars, Heart-shaped Boxes, Ganong Original Chicken Bones.)
I know it is an old style bar, but I kind of love the occasional Pal-O-Mine. A bit too sweet for eating all of the time, and I not every store carries them here, sadly. While not my favourite Ganong product, I could really go for a Roman Nougat right about now. Have not had one in a long time.

Just thought I would give you a list of Canadians who, while born in Canada, left and really never came back, except to visit. Some are not even Canadian anymore having given up their citizenship. I just came here from watching your Thai snack food (and 12-year-old hotdogs) videos with Ashens. Love your videos already; you have a wonderful presentation style and obviously must enjoy what you do! And as a result... You, good sir, have earned yourself another subscriber! :D
GREAT VID!!! I love Coffee Crisp, ad Icy Squares are THAT soft! lol A fav!! So glad you love our sweets! Yer accent needs improving tho. hahahaha Peace!
Absolutely hysterical....I am crying from laughing so hard!!! Honestly, one of the funniest videos I have seen on you tube - at one point I couldn't breathe, and then I scared the heck out of my puppy!!!! Thank you from Canada for this amazing taste test video - you did us proud!
You sure? To me they looked like a candy we have here in Sweden called "Gelehallon" wich is essentially gellycandies with raspberry taste and sprinkled with sugar.. :)
I put my icy squares in my fridge to keep them harder. They still melt in your mouth, but dont melt in your hands, if you know what I mean. I was so stoked to see you try ketchup chips and coffee crisp. :D hellos from canada.
Loving the videos. Just curious if anyone had sent you treats more indicative of their province as some provinces have "unique" treats. 18:46 just cracked me up!!! My first video of his I've seen, and I totally wasn't expecting that. We live on the border of QC and ON, and we have all those treats on both sides.
The feuilles d'érable was French and I should know that because I'm Canadian and it's the best thing that ever happens to me. And thanks for complementing all the Canadian candy!

The Quattro biscuits were Apple jam with maple cream filling. As for biscuits most Canadian packaging has the French on it as well and the French word for cookie is biscuit (pron bisk-wee)
Naturally turning packages over to find the english side must be a Canadian thing.
Haha yes it is :)
Yeppp :)
100% 😂
I live in Ontario, and I've never had any of those cow candies, i hope they were good, when you first opened them I thought they looked maybe like maple syrup toffees because of their colour, love the taste tests!
Yeah they were cool things!
Pretty sure they are a BC thing
MimmickLP i live in bc and ive never seen them before
I've never seen them either. I thought they were Reid's dairy treats but it said kerr's on it.
Are they good?
British man tries Canadian treats.

tip if you try Canadian products in the future. Canadian products are bilingual by law, so one side is french and one side is english. :D
Yeah, I noticed as well that on some Barry showed the French side, but I just assumed maybe it was sent from Quebec so maybe he did it on purpose...? Either way, totes agree :)
AreusBookworm Canada have 2 official langage and all food ect have both on the packaging ;3
Side note: anyone else love the bottle of jaegermeister on top of the hood in the background?
Did you just call French Spanish?
Yes, yes he did. :/
Nicholas Wilson Well then.
+The Obsidian Shadow haha, I speak French yet he still knew that pomme de terry was potato!
Sorry I meant pomme de terre
Chad Dillow Yup.
I'm a Canadian living in Australia right now so watching this made me miss some of these treats, especially the coffee crisp and caramilk! Glad to see you really enjoyed them! :)
coffee crisp and all dressed chips should be sold everywhere, they're fricken awesome :D
We can leave the ketchup chips out though
+Star Shot yeah
I want some dressed all over and zesty mordant.
They have those chips in prison commissary, or so I've been told.
All dressed chips are now available at some gas stations in America. Just figured someone would like to know. They are my favorite
Nice one Barry. I went to school in Canada many moons ago and I remember having bacon on my pancakes with maple syrup, it was oh so good :)
im Canadian and seeing you try all these Canadian snacks for the first time is a treat in of its own
lmao you're reading the back of the maple cookie box the English version is on the other side
I noticed this too! Common mistake people make. So funny.
I was gonna say that
LOL that's what i thought. Canadian products all have french side, English side, by law.
unless they where sent from Quebec. Everywhere in Canada we have to have the English/French packaging, but in Quebec they can get away with French only.
***** unless hes talking about a "pomme de terre" (wich roughly translates to "ground apple") is a potato
Am I the only Canadian that was surprised by every other thing on the list being only in Canada?
There are certain things he had that are not exclusive to Canada, but still aren't common across seas. Things like the pretzel M&M's, I'm pretty sure are American. Nolan Rooney The chocolate ones that are similar to M&Ms. :)
Some of the things werent just from canada like the whoppers those are from the us but most thing like coffee crisp were from canada
I didn't know caramilk, and coffee crisps were Canadian only. The rest of the world is missing out!
I'm not a huge fan of coffee crisps I'd rather have my cup of Tim-Hortons
+Rick Lake We have Caramilk in UK. It was invented in England.
Cadbury is very popular in Canada. Our historic ties to the UK ensure some brands are well received here.
Crispy Crunch has such an intense following in Canada they haven't had to advertise in years, the last time I saw a TV commercial for them was in the 90s. Their tagline was "The only thing better than your Crispy Crunch is somebody else's" and the commercials had people stealing bars from other people.
This was awesome!! Im from Canada..some of these are my fav treats every

uumm not sure but i think ritz r american because we have ritz in usa but i may b wrong
alyson fry
I'm sure Ritz are available in quite a few countries. Although, from checking the box...they are made with Canadian cheese, so I guess that's why they qualified as a Canadian snack.
As a french-speaking person I laughed when he said "I speak a little spanish"
I did wonder why there would be Spanish on Canadian products.
I was so excited to see your reaction to the Icy Squares and the Caramilk bar - but saving the Coffee Crisp for the end was perfect. Ha ha ha! It's my favourite bar and totally worthy of Bryan Adams. As for the RItz - not certain that was actually cheese ;-) This was awesome Barry, thanks for the great laugh - going out to buy myself a Coffee Crisp now. xo
awesome thanks lyndsay, yes the coffee crisp was amazing!
Barry Lewis What did your wife think of it?

EmoRainbow Yeh! Yeh!
That was awesome! The only thing you forgot to do was walk out with a hockey stick.. LOL! Love the round-the-world treat videos! ✈✈✈ ♡
Suprisingly Barry, a lot of Canadians I know hate Ketchup Lays. But, I share your love for them.
Big love from Canada!! Loved this video lots of my favourites :)
Thankyou
icy squares look like a thing called ice cubes here in the US
My favorite is Crispy Crunch. Love it !! You did a good job explaining everything Barry. There's an actual street in my neighbourhood called "Mike Myers" which is the area where he grew up.
haha that is awesome
yep :)
Barry Lewis Bars in Canada serve the shooter drink called "crispy crunch" it is Frangelico and chocolate liquor Bols. Tastes just like the candy bar.

It was brilliant sarcasm 😜
this is what I was screaming from the other side of the screen
The coffee crisp is my favourite bar, it’s really good with chips/crisps too, it’s salty sweet and yummy!
Love your videos! Tip for next time: You should rate every sweet you get. (The Cadbury might get a 7/10) etc.
good call
OH MY!!!!! I love your videos. You are so funny with the way you react to different foods. Great video as you always do.
lol americans eat whoppers we eat maltesers
In Canada we eat both.
Malteasers ❤❤❤❤❤❤
Yeah... and? They originate in Canada.
+Elijah Shteinberg Having had both, they're slightly different.

Lol
MrPlusses Rolling my eyes. Cattrall, Perry, Reeves, K Sutherland, and Egoyan were NOT born in Canada. Here's some who were: Melody Anderson, Kate Vernon, Heather Menzies. l wish many of those you mentioned were not Canadian in any way, LOL
Egoyan left Canada and never came back? That would be news to him. He lives in Canada, he shoots in Canada, and he employs Canadian artists.
Watching this in 2017, and all I have to say is, I was born and raised in America and Maple is my favourite flavor of sweets! Those maple cookies are amazing and the maple candy with nuts (preferably walnuts) are the best!
Make a giant doughnut or eclair?
nice idea
That's why people call me the idea storm, yeah no one acctualy calls me that
I don't know how I ended up stumbling upon your channel, but I am so glad I did.
Keep on keepin' on, your videos are great!
Mmmmm I love icy squares so much

I just came here from watching your Thai snack food (and 12-year-old hotdogs) videos with Ashens. Love your videos already; you have a wonderful presentation style and obviously must enjoy what you do! And as a result... You, good sir, have earned yourself another subscriber! :D
Why are you reading the French side?? Flip it over

Absolutely hysterical....I am crying from laughing so hard!!!
Honestly, one of the funniest videos I have seen on you tube - at one point I couldn't breathe, and then I scared the heck out of my puppy!!!!
Thank you from Canada for this amazing taste test video - you did us proud!
swedish berries are called that because they are berry-shaped swedish fish
You sure? To me they looked like a candy we have here in Sweden called "Gelehallon" wich is essentially gellycandies with raspberry taste and sprinkled with sugar.. :)
I assumed they were lingonberry flavoured.
have to try poutine! I love how through out the episode you can tell the sugar high is just kicking in.
As a Canadian I can confirm Whoppers are nowhere near as good as Malteasers. And, yes, Coffee Crisp is a Canadian classic.
Pickel potato chips are also big in Canada. My sister brought some back from there years ago along with chocolate covered Smarties.
The first youtuber that i saw that replies so much 😀
I try sometimes I miss some but I do as many as I can
Barry Lewis :D
MAPLE COOKIES!!! Those are amazing!
I've never seen those cow candies before, and I live in British Columbia
I'm in Alberta and I see the moos (cow candy ) all the time ... They are AMAZING
I'm in BC, there delicious
I live in BC aswell and have never heard of them
I'm in Delta
HEY I'm from BC to and I've seen them but usually only in the big bulk bins at save on foods
Being from Newfoundland we have a local company that makes candy and cookies/crackers (Purity foods is the name), I wonder if anyone else from Canada has similar experiences
Not been offered that nope if you can help then please contact via my website thanks for the info
I'm from NB, but have lived in BC and now I am in Ontario. I think it would be interesting to gather some more regional foods and send them out. In my experience most snacks are pretty similar across the country, but I am sure one could find some interesting items that are unique and only sold regionally.
One candy that immediately comes to mind is Ganong Chicken Bones. You can find them outside of the maritimes but I have found it to be much harder, search out small independent candy stores type of thing. Though I have also heard some people claiming Loblaws has finally started stocking them, so perhaps they are expanding, but they have been a long time favourite of mine.
Newfoundland alllllll the way!
Travis Stewart chicken bones!! They are like a crispy crunch bar with no chocolate. They are beautiful tasting
Haha you're sooo funny! I tried most of those candies and I was excited to see your reaction.
You should do an English treats video so people outside of the uk see what your eating.
Oh yes, please :) Good idea!
Already 2 of those done to date
Oh ok maybe an up to date one. Barry Lewis
I live in Missouri, but my fondest memories of visiting Canada all include the maple leaf cookies. They are my absolute favorite.
We have the m&m and whopper in the U.S.
Like if you tryed any of these
Love that Cap, Berry, where did you get it?
canadas second language is french not spanish
yes it isn't.... lol
When my mom was growing up it was mandatory to learn French in Maine,U.S. Maybe because it borders your country.
This is my favorite of all your videos. It's like as the video goes on, someone slowly turns up the speed.
You're awesome!! You always make my day with these reviews :D ♡
So none of these are available in the UK? Ok, staying in Canada it is then. Plus.. poutine and donairs :)
Poutine is life 😍😍
Poutine is love
POUTINE!!!! THAT PTOVES THAT CANADA IS THE BEST!!
Oh! And don't forget Tim Hortans!!!!!
Poutine! Love it
You need to try the All Dressed Chips you would love them, what you really need to try is the nanaimo bars you will be hooked on them, you can actually make them yourself soooooooo good
A good amount of those are actually US snacks and candies.
Mindy H. Sounds pretty Canadian to me!
Canadian, American, same difference.
Brandished Nail America and Canada import stuff to each other back and forth.
The whoppers are the only thing we have here…
18:46 just cracked me up!!!
My first video of his I've seen, and I totally wasn't expecting that.
We live on the border of QC and ON, and we have all those treats on both sides.
The Fuzzy Peach Maynards are much better tbh

You are awesome
:-) Thanks Lennon
I'm glad you enjoyed our treats! My favourite from those are probably Caramilk and Mr Big. I had a Crispy Crunch shot the other day. It was good :)
Whoppers are American
The feuilles d'érable was French and I should know that because I'm Canadian and it's the best thing that ever happens to me. And thanks for complementing all the Canadian candy!
"Schmuck" as I understand it is kind of a "gullible fool". It's a very old-timey insult that no one says seriously anymore, mostly just as a joke.
Duncan Van Ooyen People use it in that sense yes, but the direct translation to English is (being clean here) Male genitals...
Jarrett .Wener I did not know that.
Jarrett .Wener technically its just the foreskin
Duncan Van Ooyen Isn't it Yiddish?
most of these are also available in the States. or at least Michigan. Canada is only across the Detroit river. I've had most of these here. and they are almost always available.
You need to cut down the coke before filming
12:34 made me laugh out loud, so random I love barry
I love your videos! Keep making :) u make me smile :)
thanks a bunch
CHIPS. SOCCER. LAY'S. FREE HEALTHCARE. MAPLE SYRUP. POUTINE. BACON. MAPLE TREES. BEEF. BAGGED MILK. SMARTIES. MAYNARD'S.

WHY WOULD YOU PUT SOCCER ON THIS LIST OF AMAZING THINGS?!?
Demitrius Rawluk They have free health care in the UK too. It's called the NHS.
OMG yes Canadian Smarties are great. whereas American Smarties are what we call rockets
+Demitrius Rawluk Smarties and Maynard's are English
The one thing I noticed in all these Canadian treat tasting videos is we Canadian send a lot of food over. I love caramilk bars and I am surprised nobody sent all dressed chips or a aero bar
+Steve Redman Or Smarties
Oh no Barry Malteasers are Candian and whoppers are american :(
I have watched a lot of your videos... I would love to be a chef when I grow up and you are a huge inspiration :) xoxox
Whoppers are horrible
The Quattro biscuits were Apple jam with maple cream filling. As for biscuits most Canadian packaging has the French on it as well and the French word for cookie is biscuit (pron bisk-wee)
this was uploaded on my birthday. Great video Barry 😃😃😃
I live in Canada, though I haven't tried most of these things, haha. You made them sound really tasty! Loved the video :)
I'm Canadian and didn't even know that most of these were exclusive to here. That's so cool!
