- Bride Demands Extra 188,000 Yuan at Wedding, Groom Halts Ceremony with a Song!
At this wedding, what was supposed to be a smooth ceremony took an unexpected turn when the bride's family suddenly demanded an extra 188,000 yuan as a bride price. Faced with this overwhelming financial burden, the groom, unable to meet the demand, took the microphone and halted the ceremony with a song. His powerful action moved the guests and sparked widespread discussion about the financial pressures of high bride prices in marriage. Many sympathized with the groom and criticized the bride's family for their last-minute demand.
Watch the dramatic events unfold as the groom stands his ground and defends his dignity through a heartfelt song. The sudden twist on the wedding day not only brought tears to the guests but also led to a canceled wedding. This video highlights the emotional and financial conflicts that arise from exorbitant bride prices and invites broader discussion about the pressures surrounding marriage today.
Brothers, I specifically found the song that the groom sang at the beginning for everyone. It’s a very popular song on the Chinese internet, and the original singer is a female artist. Below is the link to the song and the lyrics:

Song title:I Can Love You and I Can Leave You
Lyrics:
我有本事爱上你 | I have the ability to fall in love with you
也有骨气甩了你 | And the courage to leave you
我的好你不珍惜 | You don’t cherish my kindness
别怪我走的无情 | Don’t blame me for walking away heartlessly
一个人 怕孤独 | One person fears loneliness
两个人怕辜负 | Two people fear disappointment
有些人 爱错了 | Some people love the wrong person
又后悔当初 | And regret it later
其实我 不怕苦 | Actually, I’m not afraid of hardship
怕你的不在乎 | I’m afraid of your indifference
为你走了九十九步 | I took ninety-nine steps for you

也有骨气甩了你 | And the courage to leave you

别怪我走的无情 | Don’t blame me for walking away heartlessly
我有本事惯着你 | I have the patience to spoil you
就有资格换了你 | So I also have the right to replace you
你若辜负我深情 | If you betray my deep affection
我便转身就离去 | I will turn around and leave
一个人 怕孤独 | One person fears loneliness

Shout out to the groom. I felt so much strength for him hearing those lyrics, and seeing him stand tall in that situation. To the brides family, in the words of DJ Khaled "Congratulations, you played yourself!"
the groom should sue the bride and her family for extortion
it is china brother. It is a part of their culture at this point.
@@detectiveswanson5956 No, it's not. The dowry is part of the tradition, but asking for more money on the wedding day is not part of the culture and never was. There are brides/brides' families who do this, but it's still rare (though more common compared to the past). It's never a part of the tradition and should never be.

The bride price isn't the issue here, it's the sudden increase of the bride price at the wedding is the issue. It's like you go to buy something and it's marked for $100, but then at the register, the cashier tells you it's $200. It's a betrayal of expectations and trust.

Especially for overage (23+ yo) women.
Let alone ridiculous dowry for 30+ leftovers.
Bride's family should be paying the groom. Shameful people.
trurth that .... should not EXIST in the first place!!
@@user-gh8sg7oc9r different communities have different practices. In India, it is the bride's family that pays. In SEA, it is a weird mix of all 3 possibilies: bride's family pay, grooms family pay, nobody pay. Gets interesting when bride and groom are from different ethnic groups. 😅
But usually, they work it out before hand. Nobody do this on wedding day. Though I am aware, some have this tradition of doing what we see on the video. Though it's not real. They're only acting it out for fun, and the amount is very small. Like what you would normally carry in your wallet small.
Doing it for real is insane. Nobody else would dare to marry you in the future. Unless you move to a city far away and start anew. Which I suppose is why this got in the news. Things that are common and normal don't go viral.
Asia wouldnt decline bride price easily. In my country sometimes they ask 5-10 thousand dollar. Unfortunately they forget, that we living in social country, and old time traditions work bad in new time. But society still holding up for this.
I heard one story. In shorts, there was dude 31 year old and 30 old woman. They married, his parents pay around 2200 usd bride price, have debts to make wedding ceremony. One year after they peacefully divorsed, and it seems bride price wasnt refunded. Amazing possibility to waste all money for nothing. And waste time of course. Due to things i heard, full guilt on dudes parents, they want him married, any cost because "he was 31 year, what people think/say."
That first vid was absolutely 🔥. His vocals and his passion in that song he sung was truly devine. Some women don't know how blessed they are to have a man that's willing to give up his life just so they can have a life. Truly Ironic if you ask me.
I agree and I hate when people say happy wife happy life which is BS! You both need to be happy in order to have a happy life.
If a marriage starts off unequal because of money, it will only get worse in the future. The groom made the right choice by leaving.
Sure hope the groom's family gets their dowry back.
true , it's a terrible foundation for a carriage ŕ, in this video they spoke of the wedding ended up smoothly OK, but what about the actual marriage ? what future does the marriage have ?
The bride should marry her bestie. The groom should look elsewhere. Problem-solved.

Usually no. It is already in their hands. Btw 188 is a auspicious number in Chinese. But they should ask for it instead of being an extra.
The answer is usually no. I had a friend in my home town. He and this girl are about to get married. He and his family will pay the wedding expenses for both sides and the bride price. Then before the wedding, the girl family demands more money. My friend's family calls the wedding off. They don't want to make a scene. so, does the groom get back the 300K and also split the cost of venue with the bride's family? i mean lets forget about feelings and meanings for a moment and deal with fairness.
The laws are a bit wishy-washy depending on the judge. The entire bizarreness is that there’s no standard in a divorce trial. Hukou or family passports are an old village tradition, and the ritual nature is that families weren’t joined, the daughter was essentially traded between villages and took on the role of a new family member.
There’s centuries of drama and family conflict in dealing with the wife’s family or the husbands family taking over or getting greedy for the money.
The concept and price caps of bride price has been limited semi recently because it used to lead to child abduction of 6-15 year old girls to marry for a bride price to “aunties” that were used by rural families and villages to find local families to arrange marriages. Especially during the One Child policy, abductions and replacing of wives that would not birth boys, usually by injuring the young girls or pushing them into rivers or dragging them into the woods to starve
did u forget that this happened in China? 100% the groom will shoulder everything😅

Marriage is no happiness for women, even in west women who are married lives on average by 7 years shorter life and have her unpaid labor increase by many hours weekly. Love is cheap word some men feeds to women to scam them with marriage and children, when they have to show it then they cheat, mistreat woman, leave for next best thing, throws all domestic chores on her shoulders using her like slave. There is no happiness to be with such men who makes womens life worse than what she had when she was single.
The more money the groom give to the brides family, the less the bride will have in the future.... His money is your money. Your parents money is not yours. So logically, the less bride price is better for the bride.
Marriage is now officially known as a BUSINESS in CHINA. Love has NO MEANING WHATSOEVER in marriage in CHINA!!! It is SAD but TRUE. To all foreign men, stay clear from Chinese mainland girls/women if you still care about your mental and financial well-being.

This raises a question in my mind. If the wedding doesn't proceed due to the grooms decision (whatever the thinking behind it) is whatever bride price paid to date refunded?
If it isn't, this has the makings of a scam. Women agree to marriage, get the bride price paid up front, move the goalposts causing the groom to cancel the wedding and so walk away with the bride price paid to date.
Even if the bride price is refundable, why wouldn't a brides family double the price on the day of the wedding? After all, it will cost them nothing (other than the wedding costs?) and they may even screw a few more thousand from the grooms family.
That was an epic plot twist! Kudos to the groom!
To the Groom: .... "My Man" -insert Denzel meme
16:10 - LOL, the guy looks so sad getting married 🤣
why chinese men are being milked like this? my advice, create a business card, go to libraries, bars, vacations and if you see a lady you like talk to her and give out the card, talk to as many as you can and you will finally get a lady marrying for LOVE!
Trying to lure random peoples to marry man is not love. China have this problem because for decades they under one child policy favored boys and destroyed girls so now those boys are grown but there are no women for them, those few women whose parents kept them can put their demands because supply is so low. Chinese men also are known to treat their wives terribly so there is nothing for woman unless he is wealthy and can pay for her suffering to be married to him.
If this is real and not staged to launch his music career, he dodged a bullet. Because that bride came dressed ready to take her wedding gown off. If this was real, she would’ve just had on a strapless bra under there and not a strapless sheath. And she did not look like someone distressed at the thought of losing someone she loved. She was either a paid actress or in on it with her family and would’ve bled that man dry.

@@Brawn I think it's fake too. Even the background music for that song was already there.

Good points! I think it is fake but sends a good message.
The woman from the first part: If she got to keep the agreed bride-price, she may have decided to end the wedding because she loves someone else and the money is already there. She demanded more money knowing he won't be able or willing to pay. She knew this would either stop the wedding or end the new marriage, all to her benefit.
Maybe I'm wrong....
Dam, I think you are correct.🤔
Yep.
Sounds reasonable that the money was used to force a breakup,
but it also seems like the bride’s family also knew since they would be the ones held accountable for the costs and damages too, especially cancelling the wedding and travel costs already spent. If the bride scammed her family, they did so with no thinking about the costs involved.
The groom’s family might also have had reservations too. Or they might not have known.
These kinds of weddings tend to involve 3 generations of family “accepting” the money from the groom going to the bride’s family. The couple usually don’t bear that kind of cost alone, nor does the groom pay for a home/car/diamond ring by himself.
Nor is that how a typical marriage could ever work, as the belief / social expectation is to tend to aim for 21-25 years of marriage age. Ie getting married before they finish college/university or even date outside of school. Things can, do, involve the families arranging things.
Man's got some sweet pair of pipes!
He will definitely meet the right one, one day. Trash her! She isn't in it for the love from the start!
The bride taking her dress off in front of everyone to extort him is a new level of low. Hope this is viral, she'll be leftover woman statistic.

"If i can spoil you, I'm also qualified to replace you!" DAM!!
4:35 women are masters at keeping other women single...
SNAP! Everyone guy should learn this song just in case!
And when this song is sung by too many men it will be like the 7 trumpets signaling the end of the world.
I have great respect for the groom, he truly is a man who did not bow to exhorting money in laws. Trouble
Good singer, great words
I like his song, he is the man. The clip should has the entire song.
This is a bunch of materialistic losers.
6:35 actually this is perfect time, before marrying you must elicit the worst behaviors to see the real person underneath.
Bestie indeed.
Definitely support the groom👍🏾👍🏾
Beautiful voice!
This song is absolute fire and moving
The bride should pay the groom. What is wrong with Chinese society?
Chinese brothers are waking up
"People still get married?" Just start saying this to all women. Gets the point across.
The Bride Price makes it sound like the bride is being purchased, or being bribed.
this song should go international
Impressed.
I would like to hear the full version of that song at the start of this video.
"If I can spoil you, I'm also qualified to replace you." That's pure gold right there, any language and any culture. If sons are valued more than daughters, it would make more sense for the bride's family to have to pay the groom's family.
These women are nothing but semi gold diggers who were partially on their way from becoming gold digger in the future.
