Каждый раз во всех видео с иностранцами, приезжающими в Россию, можно услышать, как они говорят "Я думал, тут все бедные и злобные, стоят в очередях и едят только картошку с водкой". Я не понимаю, как в 21 веке, когда везде интернет, можно настолько не знать ничего о другой стране, за исключением того, что показывают по центральным новостям. И говорят это не какие-нибудь старики консерваторы, которые кроме телека ничего не смотрят, а молодые и погруженные в интернет люди. И после этого россиян называют людьми, зомбированными телеком?
Да просто они все тупые, не эрудированные и дальше своего носа ничего не видят. Этот тоже только по наливочным и улицам побродил, ни в один музей не зашел.

Russian, ukrainian, vietnamese... all connected to historical evens of the time (viet war, destruction of USSR, etc). And nowadays many western men who fall in love with Russian women are moving to Russia instead of bringing these women to the west. That's the impression I get from many American, UK, and Australian UA-camrs whose channels are all about moving to Russia and starting a family. If I was young and single, I might do that, too. I mean, just look at all the attractive women Sly passed on the street in this video. Paradise for a young guy. Add safe, clean, beautiful cities, a growing economy, free health care and free education to the bachelor level -- that's a lot to like if you're thinking about a place to raise your kids.

The portion sizes in restaurants are smaller due to the people eating less and due to the fact that a meal, e.g. lunch, usually consist of 3 courses (salad,soup and the main course+desert).
The IT infrastructure, including banking, government, consumer orientation etc., is on a much higher level than anywhere else in the world. I mean, you guys still use Venmo and other apps, in Russia we can just send money from person to person using any banking app. It takes seconds, its free(no commissions) and almost no restrictions.

In case of visas Russia just mirroring politics of foreign countries for the most part. If your government making headaches to Russians with visas, then unfortunately you will probably face something similar with Russian visa.
Georgia gives Russians 360 days per year visa free. But Russia requires limited visa from Georgians.

Idk man. I went on a vaca with some Russian friends in the US. She married a french guy and they moved here. Her and her daughter, obviously adult daughter, literally drank vodka from the time they woke up 😂 they never were totally hammered, out of line, or obnoxious in anyway. So i wouldnt say "too much". 'Too much' would indicate they couldnt handle it. And they def do handle it! To me, yes, its alot! Lol. Im not really a drinker at all , i just wonder how their stomachs do it. I was in Russia 2 weeks ago, spent 2.5 weeks, REALLY sick of the US State department saying "Americans will be arrested in Russia", I was TREATED with Respect, dignity and no issues, I had one discussion with some Friendly (in a very good way) gentlemen when I traveled to Murmansk with my wife, they were curious about my visit and we told them family and we did the required registration without issue.
No issue entering or leaving the country, the Stupid girl from the WNBA deserved to be arrested, had she re-entered the USA with what she was carrying she would have been arrested, the soldier that was sentenced to 4 years, committed a Crime, STAY OUT OF TROUBLE and behave and you will be treated better in Russia than you can expect from american police...

I live on East Coast, USA for 30 years. Originally I'm from USSR/Ukraine. Naturally I have relatives in Russia. Anyway, I sometimes would snap pictures of Americans walking dogs, wearing shorts and flip flops in the snow and send those pictures to my relatives in Moscow. They are aleays shocked by those!😂

Portion sizes were small because you visited fancier/tourist/center-of-the-city places.
In cafes, which locals sometimes use, the food is a bit cheaper and portions - larger.
But most of the time those cafes are some different cuisine, like Georgian, Uzbek, Chinese etc.
Because if Russian wants to eat russian food - he eats/cooks at home, lol.
Eat at school/university/work cafeterias is the other option.

Порции в Москве маленькие, это правда. Бюджетные чайханы не в счет, я имею ввиду рестораны. Есть отдельные исключения, но в среднем порции жлобские. Типа второе блюдо весом в 250 грамм с гарниром... Я бы предпочел более высокие цены, но нормальные размеры порций.
В Америке просто безобразно здоровые порции для больших американцев 😅

I visited Russia in 2012 and while the people in Moscow was a little cold, the ones in the other cities were all great. In fact, the most friendly were in a small town.

There are a lot of foreign students in Russia. I`m studying in Kazan university and I talked to many foreign students and some of them want to stay here, they really love Russia, they enjoy everything here. Russia is very beautiful and kindly!
Keep in mind that most of these students come from India, North and Central African nations.
Often backward, 3rd world and Developing nations.
Who wouldn't want to remain in Russia, which is clean, bountiful, organised, sparsly populated for its size, beautiful and vast?
The same happens with foreign students in Canada, Australia, and the US.

Here's the thing, if you meet Russian women online who are looking for foreign men, often those aren't really the women you want to meet. The reverse is also true. Guys that have a hard time with women (guilty) and are therefor going online for romance, aren't often what women are looking for. The combination isn't great. However I would say that this doesn't really apply to the general population in Russia. I say this, as an American who lives in Russia.

Подтверждаю. Еда очень вкусная, натуральная, питательная. На каждый вечер планировали шашлык, но так и не добрались до них. Не успевали проголодаться. Слоёное чуду в тысячу раз вкуснее пиццы, тонкие чуду божественные. Сушеная колбаса обалденная. Чай с чабрецом из армудов прекрасен.

Not exactly correct on payments. Tourist from the neighbouring countries also can not use their Visa and MasterCard in Russia - it wasn't their decision, it was the decision of Swift international payment system to block Russia from all the transactions. You can still use Visa and MasterCard cards issued by Russian banks inside Russia - the banks still have their obligations to their clients. But foreign-bank-ussied cards are not recognized for payments in Russia since Swift had cut the country off from their system. Basically it is Swift telling you 'no, you can not use your card in Russia'. Thankfully, when the whole sanctions started back in 2014 with Crimea our central bank and government have started working on our own payment system MIR, which actually means both 'world' and 'peace' in Russian language. As far as I know, Sly has gotten himself a Mir card and has been using it ever since his first days in the country. Mir cards are easily issued by basically any bank - you don't need any special documents, a foreign passport will do; sometimes you can get the operable card in just about half an hour if you don't need a card with your name on it.

I was in Russia back in 2014 for about a year, I was Northwest of Moscow (Zelengrad). I did go to Moscow a few times. Yes, the food was good. Beer was great as well. People are very friendly after they get to know, then they have your back. Nothing like what we hear on TV here in the states. I made many friends there. The thing I remember most is the fresh baked goods, open markets and the butcher shops. Again the bakeries, were amazing.

@@sacredumore Ну, после порции вепрева колена с тушеной капустой, гороховым пюре, да еще и запивая это неподъёмное блюдо пинтой пива, в Берлинском ресторанчике на Александр платц, я еле мог дышать, так было тяжело. Всё таки наши русские порции самые оптимальные, можно взять салатик, первое, второе и компотик с десертом. Получить чувство насыщения, но не переедания.

As a fellow American, I greatly appreciate your open mindedness and genuine willingness to explore. I lived for one month in Russia in the Fall of 2012 and spent time in St. P, Moscow, and Kursk where the greatest tank battle in history took place on July 5-12, 1943. I also respect the fact that you went there at a time when U.S. -Russian relations couldn't be much worse. I had the advantage of having learned the language and history of Russia and the USSR as an undergraduate and graduate student before I went there. It infuriates me how ignorant and vulnerable to myths and propaganda most Americans are when it comes to Russians and life in Russia. I thoroughly enjoyed myself, including singing and playing guitar both on the streets and at a Moscow open mic event, and so much more. I think if there were more Americans like you and me, who had even a basic knowledge of Russians and their culture, our two countries would more likely be allies instead of adversaries and potential enemies. Sea buckthorn is not something from the sea. It is a berry that grows on a bush with thorns. It is pretty sour, and it is very high in many vitamins. It has many benefits, including anticancer, anti-inflammatory, antimicrobial, antiviral, and is a very powerful antioxidant.

sea buckthorn has nothing to do with the sea by the way, it is a mystery why it has such a naming in the English language. In Russian, it's pronounced "oblepikha" which means something like "sticking around", because the berries cover the branches of their tree very densely. It grows on relatively small trees, smaller than average cherry or apple trees. To gather it is probably the most exhausting thing in the world :)

My mother told me that, during her visit to Moscow in the early 2000’s, that her guide told her everyone could tell she was American because she smiled at everyone she saw even tho they were strangers 😂
As a black single mother of 3 children I took my kids to Moscow and st Peter berg’s a few years ago on vacation how that trip came about was I let each of them pick somewhere in the world they wanted to visit and my son picked russia because of the video games he was playing at the time he wanted to see the kremlin after reading a lot of reviews online the conclusion was they are the most unfriendly places to visit but we still went and we had the time of our life but if we were to live there it would be a whole different story because racism is real because I lived in sheepshead bay in Brooklyn New York which is heavily russians base and I know for sure a lot of them are not nice but my time in Russia was wonderful.
