- Do you know how to repair Dell broken hinge? When your laptop hinge breaks, it might seem like everything is lost, but luckily, usually it can be fixed.
The first thing you need to do is to stop using your laptop immediately or the damage will worsen. Don’t be tempted to carry on, particularly if it still works. Using the laptop with broken hinge can cause more damage or even breaks something that wasn't broken before. If the laptop is already open, don't try to close it.
You can take your laptop to a technician to evaluate the damage, or try to repair it at home but only if you have some understanding how this type of things works.

All that for a broken hinge is really absurd to me.
Unfortunately, it's the only way to do it, unless you change the whole unit.
Good video but may be too much for me to do. This just happened to my wife's laptop. Wondering the cost of repair. For now, she just leaves it open since it normally just sits on a desk for use. We're very careful with our things. Not sure how this happened.

Almost every one who bought DELL laptop got this issue. EVERYONE! when I got the issue 1st time, They replaced new LCD for free.for second time, Now they are charging around 7000.
Is happening to me now 😢 I can not replace for guaranty cause guest what dell has not LCD spare . They don't produce anymore. I can not handle it.
Don't keep it open I did the exact same thing after the honge broke. And now I have lost my display. It's better to get it repair ASAP otherwise you have to bear the cost of LCD too

the hinge isnt broken that much , and everything is functioning normal as well. ive exams till the end of month. will it be okay to wait till then ? or will it worsen ?
I woudn't recommend using it as something can break. If possible do not close it at all.

If i were to go to a repair shop, how much should he charge for such a repair. I have the exact same model and the exact same problem
No idea how much they would charge. It was not a massive job, so if you have a bit of understanding how to do simple repairs, give it a go yourself.
@@k-nemo hey!, i got my laptop fixed at a local shop day before yesterday, becuz am 16, i didn't wanna repair it myself even though you made it look very easy. either way they charged me around 15$ or 1500rs for the hinge, but they did say there's a slight chance my screen might break and that would cost around $180. either way i told them to go for it, and thankfully nothing broke and i got it done in $15. thanks a lot!

Great video, but i absolutely CRINGED when you had the piece of paper with the glue and spatula just sitting ON THE SCREEN. I would have spilled it on the screen for sure.

Its not actually the hinge that breaks. The hinge is too tight, so when you are opening it and closing it it is putting too much pressure on the casing around it. And the casing is poor quality and quickly breaks away.

I left it. It's holding up. You have to disassemble it differently so as not to break it.

I am getting same problem, m from India . dell service centre taking 6112 rs to repair it .they saying they will change full upper screen .anybody pls help from india who is facing same prblm.
They don't want to repair it by gluing. It's easier to replace the whole thing.

The hinge broke on both my HP 15 & 17 inch laptops. Other HP laptop owners have had the same problem. I found on the Internet, a 1st class action law suit has been filed. The lawsuit looks to represent anyone in the U.S. who purchased an Envy, Envy 360, Pavilion, Pavilion 360, HP 14, HP 15, or HP 17 laptop sold in or after 2017. A state-specific subclass has also been proposed for those who purchased their laptop in Florida.

I can only speak from my experience, I have had loads of HP laptops and never once had a problem with the hinges. But Dell, oh boy.
Before this i bought asus. Use for whole degree n master solid 6 years no issue at all. Then bought dell. Less than 1 year hinge problem. Now going 2nd year w delicate usage, hinge problem one side, replace cost me a lot. Now the other side hinge problems wth. I will never ever buy any dell product ever again. Will not recommend others to do so as well.
Should i avoid the dell laptop only for this reason ? Actually i got better deal in asus ... I'm planning to buy it !!
@@Take-it-easy-wl4oh i just checked with the laptop repair shop. For dell avoid inspiron153000 model. When i went to repair shop, few hinge problem is from this model. Most hinge problem in any brand is cause by the plastic cover which manufacturer do it for the sake of costing and making laptop thinner. Plastic cover is thin so the hinge easily break it. Please choose laptop with thicker like ceramic cover. Not sure which brand has it. It may cause laptop to be a bit heavier but i think is better than this hinges problem.

And another thing is how did you verify that hinge is perfect at 6:15 ?
6:20 6:15 I adjust the hinges. I unscrew them to make them turn easier. I set it so that the cover lifts slightly but does not fall under its own weight. I am not sure that after my repair the hinges will be as glued as after purchasing a new laptop.

Depends on the glue. I waited 24 hours.

Or you can visit a technician they will plug-in the hook
You can’t do it yourself there are so many minor parts it’s a very technical tasks
My laptop cost me 415$ and repair cost from dell is 450$.
