I'm shocked how much you learned in such a short time. Cantonese is really hard but you blow away 99% of Chinese people who speak mandarin who try to learn cantonese. Quite amazing. You'll never get the tones unless you hang out with native speakers. I've been learning for 40 years and I still make tonal mistakes.

I am a native Cantonese speaker. Your Cantonese is good enough for daily communication. Nevertheless, we know that you have foreign accent. It’s all about the rhythms. Cantonese does not have so much rise and fall on the rhythm as in Putonghua.

As a Cantonese speaker, I think you need to understand the difference of vocabulary and grammer between Mandarin and Cantonese. It is good for you to learn Cantonese by watching the Cantonese Speaking TV program s or News.
When you can understand the Cantonese in Singapore, Malaysia, Macau, Hong Kong and Guangdong, then you are the Master of Cantonese.
Hey, I'm a Cantonese speaker. Your Cantonese is amazing, but it reminds me of my friend from Hunan who learned Cantonese in Guangzhou as a second/third language. If I close my eyes it sounds like a girl from Szechuan or Hunan speaking Cantonese. But it's impressive nonetheless.

耶穌基督降世爲人，因爲愛我們，不願我們因自己的罪惡滅亡，所以要教導我們脫離罪惡的行爲，糾正我們的生活，要救我們脫離將來的審判，甚至願意在過程中受苦，被人逼迫，辱駡，鞭打，吐唾沫，爲你我而流淚流血，被釘在十字架上而死。主耶穌爲了贖你我世人的【罪】而被釘在十字架上而死。
但主耶穌死後第三日復活，后升到天上去，以後還要回來拯救屬於祂的人。
人死後要麽得永生進天國，要麽得永刑進地獄。地獄里的火是不滅的，蟲是不死的。悔改信靠主耶穌的人能進天國，不願悔改信靠主耶穌的人不能進天國。
我們要接受主耶穌爲我們生命中獨一的救主，生命中獨一的真神。你們若有憂愁，就來尋找主耶穌，主耶穌就安慰你們。若有困難的，就來尋找主耶穌，主耶穌就賜給你們力量。若有傷痕累累的，就來尋找主耶穌，主耶穌就醫治你們。若有勞苦重擔的，就來尋找主耶穌，主耶穌就使你們得安息。主耶穌可以赦免你們一切的罪，主耶穌可以賜給你們真平安和喜樂，主耶穌可以賜給你們死後復活得永生。主耶穌連使死人復活都可以，因爲在神凡事都能。
除了耶穌的名，世上沒有別的名可以使人得救。獨一的真神衹用一個名字來代表自己，那就是【耶穌】。
主耶穌教導，“不要犯罪欺騙說謊”，惡人卻說，“不，我選擇犯罪欺騙說謊”。這樣他就是在定自己的罪，以後定他的罪的證據就是在此。
主耶穌說：
你們不要論斷人，就不被論斷。因爲你們怎樣論斷人，就必怎樣被論斷。你們用什麽量器量給人，就必用什麽量器量給你們。你們不要定人的罪，就不被定罪。你們要饒恕人，就必蒙饒恕。

You've done very well for only learning for 4 months. What you will also find is that Cantonese can be different in say HK vs Guangdong Province (Guangzhou City in china). The pronounciation of certain words are different also.
I find that as a non-native English speaker when I first grew up I would translate into my native tongue (潮州话) and even when I studied mandarin I found myself translating and using the grammar from that to form my sentences. the basics are the same but some things are different and its the same with Mandarin and Cantonese :)

Cantonese is full of colloquialism; you'll not find a lot of words in formal Chinese writing. Also, many Cantonese terms used in HK are different from those in Mainland China. If you speak Cantonese word for word like you speak Mandarin, people will view you as a square. I don't understand about 15% of your Cantonese speech.
Your Mandarin is much better than Cantonese.
Cantonese is really more difficult.
Mandarin is 4 tone, but Cantonese is 9 tone.
Obviously, your Cantonese got some tone problem, not accurate. Need to pay attention on the tone.
your mandarin sounds better than your canto. While i can understand your canto, your choice of diction is very "formal" sounding, like just a translation from what you would say in mandarin, but you just say it in canton instead. But real cantos have a lot of slangs :) we don't really speak the words that you would read!
But still, very impressive. I've tried to learn spanish and french in diff stages of my life.. no dice... no conjugation plz!
Of course your manderin is better but in time I think your cantonese will catch up. Generally, your canto is pretty good, you have the same accent as an "ABC" :)

I'm Cantonese but as I'm Singaporean my main language is English.
Your pronunciation needs work which can only come with watching HK videos in Cantonese and usage. Absorption by osmosis takes time and effort. Given enough time I'm certain you can master it. You can speed it up by living in HK!

The most difficult thing about pronouncing Cantonese is its tone. I have seen many native mandarin speakers struggle in this regard even after many years of practice.
雪蓮，妳廣東話不差。但妳需要學得正統廣東話必須要來香港，跟真正香港人學習，妳的音節才可以學習得好。
For all those guys, who watch JJ and feel discouraged by how fast she learned Cantonese. Remember, if Mandarin is ...say...Kenny Smith, Cantonese is Charles Barkley. Even though they seem quite different, they are both two very gifted basketball players who share many things in common. JJ is quite familiar with Kenny Smith, she knows the game. As I am from Hong Kong, honestly, your Mandarin is better than Cantonese. Being learned Cantonese in only 4 months, you are awesome. Of course, I understand what you said in Cantonese. But you can still improve on the tones you pronounced, since I felt it's still a little English accent. Cantonese has a lot of colonquial slang created everyday from our society. Like you said, it's much easier to learn Cantonese since your Mandarin is excellence. REALLY enjoy your channel as I am learning Mandarin too. 加油 on learning Cantonese. Come to HK if travel allows, you will pick up real fast over here. Cheers!!

Hope your mom feels better. Your mandarin is still miles ahead of your Cantonese but your Cantonese has improved tremendously already. Keep working on the Cantonese tones. I also think you over use the “ah” a bit. Reasons you are having harder time finding resources is because Cantonese is very colloquial. So the only way to learn is to watch Cantonese tv and movies, and hangout with Cantonese speaking friends. Cantonese change rapidly. I can tell whether someone grew up in the 80s, 90s, or after, by the slangs that they use. In any case, keep up the good work and I look forward to seeing your Cantonese on par with your impeccable mandarin!!!
Just want to add. “Ah” or “ga” in Cantonese are meaningless words that bring out certain importance of a sentence. Kind of like an exclamation at the end of a sentence!!! So no need to overuse it. You mentioned context. In English, the past tense of eat is ate but in Cantonese, the past tense of 食 is still 食. Past tense is signaled by the context. For example, 我食咗飯 mean I just eat, which means I ate. The word 咗 provide the context.

我是香港人，所以聽到雪蓮說廣東話很親切。普通話確實比廣東話易學，所以雪蓮的普通話一定比廣東話好，就是因為廣東話難學，所以只學了4個月就有這個水平，你已是天才了👍。而且文法完全正確，我就算不看字幕，也能全部聽得懂你說什麼。
因為你真的說得不錯，所以進步空間不多，只要在發音改善一下便可以了。

Of course your Mandarin is better since you had more practice with it and have learned it for longer time.
Your Cantonese is very impressive for learning 4 months. Definitely easier to learn since you have Mandarin base. You can definitely hear the accent when you speak Cantonese. There were some words where you had more Mandarin pronunciation than Cantonese pronunciation. Also, difference with Cantonese is that what’s written is not how you say it in real life conservation. Keep it up! I know you’ll get better with more practice!

Cantonese is really good, but you speak it like someone who is fluent in Mandarin. My sister in law is from Taiwan and she learned Cantonese by watching TV dramas on TVB. Her Cantonese is really good as well, but you two pronounce certain words the same way.

You used a Mandarin thinking for Cantonese, 做視頻 廣東話應該叫拍片
「話」should be pronounced as Wah but you said hwah because of mixing Madarin with it
而且普通話詞語，如果兩個字語音重複，係廣東話就會變一個字，或者有些詞語本來就只有一個字，亦有啲字非常古老

You speak better Mandarin than Cantonese, but I am a native Cantonese speaker, I might be bias. If you want to speak Cantonese more fluently, suggest you watch Hong Kong movie or listen to Cantonese song.
