When you don’t know history, you’re doomed to repeat it.
another person who doesnt know of the Gulag Archipelago (Hell on earth basically). sooner or later, her lesson will come to teach her, if she wont/refuses to learn from History, she will be given the opportunity to learn why, either in person, or hopefully from a book (if she's fortunate).
It’s not like a couple years ago the government didn’t shut everything down. And force people to do things they didn’t want to do.
And that history maybe sooner than expected.
There is a reason that studying history is a sign of early onset republican; reality sets in real quick.
That being said, I told my sisters that if I turn into my uncle and play Fox News on my phone at full volume with no headphones in a busy Bojangles, they know what to do.

I think the government forgot that we are all equal and that none of us are above the other and thus has no rule over another but the governing body has always perpetuated that lie since way back people have always given given the right to rule them to another not because they want to be ruled but because the one who wants to rule them was charismatic enough to manipulate them into handing them their chains

I knew a guy from the UK that visited the USA. He was telling me how his day was ruined because in a crowd his elbow bumped another person's concealed and holstered gun. Mind you that he felt perfectly safe moments before, but knowing there was a person with a gun near him scared him to the point that he had to leave the area.

The shit really happens... I was leaving about to go to work about 8 years ago. My wife had just left with my 2-year-old son. It's about 7:30 in the morning as I pull out of my house and up the road. I passed a young kid that just had a look about him. I could tell by the way he was looking back at me in my rear view mirror. My gut feeling was bad. I continued to drive to my business as I was pulling in. I was about to turn around and drive back and check on my house about that time. I got a phone call from a neighbor saying they swear someone just went in to my house through the back window. I drove back to my house super fast slid in the driveway. Ran straight into my house. The front door was open. Quick scan ran upstairs every single drawer every single door and every single thing that was closed was wide open and had been ransacked. Then I realized the dude might still be in the house. As I ran back down stairs. He was ducking out my living room window and ran by the time I got outside. There was a cop that pulled up and tackled him.... Dude was an idiot. He missed everything of value and he took a iPod. Lol. And bank of spare change maybe $35 worth..... Didn't matter. The cop threw him in the back of the car and I lost my shit. Went up to the cop car. Tried to get in and beat the shit out of him. The cop said he would want to do the same to him if it happened to him and his family but he couldn't legally. Let me pull the kid out of the car for a beat down. Long story short, the kid had a long rap sheet of home invasions strong armed robberies car thefts and he was only 17 at the time. If he would have done that in my family was home he would have died. My point is if you don't think it'll happen to you, it can easily happen to you. Believe me. To this day my family does not even know that happened. It would have caused a lot of worry. I chose to keep it to myself and protect my family. Last I checked the kid is in jail for 35 years.
Unfortunately, when she does, she's going to demand MORE gun control.

This woman never took a history class.
She probably lives in some suburban enclave, maybe even a gated community. Likely has no job or one that she can work from home (maybe UA-cam Influencer IS her job) but her high earning spouse makes her earnings trivial and needless. The municipality she lives in is likely highly taxed and makes sure that the police presence is a high priority. She has no idea what life is like outside the bubble.

The very first gun I ever bought was when I was pregnant with my daughter, because at the time was when there was a bunch of human trafficking attempts getting closer to my town, and I said there’s no way I’m going to be unarmed when these ladies, specifically with babies, as they’re known as easier targets, were getting kidnapped or attempted kidnapping. I envy the naivety of this lady that can afford to live in a good enough area that she doesn’t feel the need to protect herself, that the police are staffed well enough that there’s not a long response time that she can feel that safe not carrying. I don’t have the luxury of that naivety, but good for her. I only hope she never has to let the rubber meet the road and test that safety, because, frankly, I can’t imagine anywhere in my town that I’d feel that safe without my lil 380😂

As a Central European who lives in a former socialist country, who remembers the wars and genocides on our doorsteps in the Balkans, who lives right next to the Ukraine, who's grandparents lived through ww2 literally living on the battlefield as civilians, who's grandfather was a pow's in a gulag despite never been a soldier, and who's grandmother was hiding in cellars to avoid being gang raped and killed at the age of twelve by the Soviet troops... I think I can say that the huge luck of this lady is the fact that the majority of the civil population of America had the last time seen a major war in first person in 1865. War and danger and tyrannical governments for them are something of the faraway lands, they simply can not imagine what is it like to be in the middle of it. Without help, without protection, without wifi...

Also, ask her how many black people she thinks are killed by cops annually. Then, follow up with asking why she thinks the only cops should have guns.

Also, including that total death rate doesn't help your argument, it only shows that the British use their guns to kill themselves more, or they have more accidents. Turns out maybe owning guns, respecting them, and treating them as any responsible gun owner would decreases accidents?

She’s fine with guns actually wether she realizes it or not… she just feels more comfortable with government agents being the only ones that have them because agents of the government back here ideals, policies and morals……for now…. Having a gun is like having a fire extinguisher. You hope you never have to use it. In an emergency you use it before the "professionals" get there. And it works better if you practice with it.
This is actually one of the best analogies I’ve ever seen for this. I’m legit going to ask the next anti gun person I see if they’ve ever seen a building burn down in person and when they haven’t (because like 90+% of people haven’t), I’ll ask them what the point of fire extinguishers are then since we have fire departments.
And these days the chances of your car or house catching fire is lower than the chances of you being targeted for a violent crime.

The government isn't tyrannical. The people running it are. Power corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely. That is why the citizens must maintain some level of power over those in government.
Literally the last century of American history is a case study on deceitful govt. practices and why we have 1st and 2nd Amm laws on the books that allow us to fight back against a tyrannical govt. The ability and mechanisms for the civilian populace to revolt against a governing body that is no longer representing the people that elected them is hard-baked into our constitution.
