Your contributions support this content. It sounds clichéd, but it's true. Whether it's travel expenses, vehicle repair, or medical costs for urushiol poisoning (or rockfalls, beestings, hand slices, toxic sap, etc), your financial support allows this content to continue so the beauty of Earth's flora can be made accessible to the rest of us in the degenerate public. At a time when so much is disappearing beneath the human footprint, CPBBD is willing to do whatever it takes to document these plant species and the ecological communities they are a part of before they're gone for good.

It is relaxing to watch him go around and talk about each beautiful plant. :). And I learn something in the process!
A true gentleman, getting a rock for the cactus :3I absolutely love the desert pinks and yellows... nature rocks 😭
Arid-adapted Aroid growing epiphytically on da rock, nice.
Crazy stuff. Makes sense given how forgiving many members of the genus are but still impressive.
My life is complete knowing there is a plant called Discocactus! Love them all!
Sticky Trixis is a good stripper name.
Ya never disappoint us, such cool stuff!
That white sand is playing tricks on my eyes.. It almost looks like you're walking on snow, so cool
Vai Brasil!
And to think that I stared watchi g because of the inch ruler tattoed on his finger! Love this!
Hunter S. Phytologist
Remind me of Keonehelelei aka falling sands foot prints trail 1782 battle of Moku'ōhai Ka'ū desert big island hawaii volcano national park little bit would make a great documentary can't find any detailing the botany included in it's history??
come to the nordeste of Brazil
Love all the forms that nature finds a way 👌
Sidebar: Can you do international "Put it in a bahg"? Or is that a quickfast way to get the prison pocket frisked on the return trip? 😅
Very interesting to see these plants.
I was missing this videos, i like to see for all: rocks, climate and plants
Have you thought about going out night filming and catching some of the pollinators. I don’t know much but l expect you’ll need some extra special night filming equipment, but it’ll be neat to see if it would work out eh?
Love your vids. 👍Also a fan of arid and desert biomes. Such a tough place for any plant or animal to survive, especially during the dry season.
The sand reminded me a bit of Mesquite Dunes in Death Valley. It's usually a little hotter than 80 there though.
Bro. THANK YOU SO FUCKING MUCH FOR BEING WHO YOU ARE!!❤ You are my fucking hero.
Thanks for the lesson!
Poikilihydric is a new one for me! Awesome video, thank you. Some of the coolest gemstones in the world come from that region. The tourmaline comes to mind as being particularly beautiful.
Such cool landscape and plants! Thanks for helpin the cactus out
I’ve just found your channel & am absolutely loving it! Todays a great day, hello from Australia! 😃🌱🌻
I love this channel yall should put ur short vids on the UA-cam shorts section
Wunderlichia mirabilis for me is the highlight of this video.
That 1990s High Times affect
Very interesting and beautiful. Awesome presentation.
He's so aggressively informative🤔
love the vids thanks
Few more places in Brazil you can visit are the Serra da Capivara National Park or São Joaquim National Park and another place you can visit in Minas Gerais state is the Parque Estadual da
Mata Seca.
As your attorney, I advise you to keep going.
Great vid man
Better get some cows on there to regenerate that land! 😂 Joking, of course.
I've been waiting all my life to hear Joey say _Gabagool_
Oh Joey...I cant take it no more.......Hay man.....close the curtains......Who are you anyway?
sweet
I thought I lost that hat forever.
😎😎
As much as I'm interested in all plant life, in the case of the stuff growing in Minas Gerais, I'd rather be searching for gem crystals in the Tourmaline family ;) in the cave system there.
Best in the world!
Since dry subtropical areas in the Americas are kind of your thing, will you ever consider checking out the subtropical dry forests of Ecuador? Interestingly enough there are some areas of this dry forest that even straddle the equator, despite the usually very wet nature of the equatorial region.
😮
Wear your sunglasses
As someone whose family is from Minas Gerais, this is accurate of most plants I've seen. Have you seen Pereskia aculeata there? The fruit is amazing, almost got hurt by the spines though. Do you know if the germination rate is low in Northern USA, got some seeds from there and then sowing it in my pot. No luck
I will no longer fear a rectal exam. 😅
Joey, I'm in Colorado on the front range. I want to make a native flower bed with pollinators in mind. 48sq ft. What flowers should I use? I've been reading a lot of books about prairie plants and really want to get this going. Thanks, man
You could build some great mcmansions there. Just sayin
Time to break out the camera in the desert in west Texas. It's been getting soaked
Rare ant alert! The ants on the Psudobombax sp. are a Cephalotes sp. possibly Cephalotes atratus? (often called 'turtle ants' for their broad heads) These ants are tough. They have particularly hard exoskeletons. They are arboreal and known for their ability to jump from a tree branch then use their body geometry like a glider to return to the trunk without hitting the ground. A magnificent ant on an excellent plant!

Thank you
They seem too small for C. atratus, unless that species gets much smaller in arid Minas Gerais than in humid Suriname.
Disco cactus? If u eat that does it make you wanna dance? Why would someone give it a name like that?
Distant resemblance to a disco ball, maybe? I dunno.
"Disco" as in flat like a disc. There was a whole class of fungi called "discomycetes" because their fruiting bodies are mostly flat discs.
I keep waiting for a punchline.
