At one point I couldn’t tell if the dogs barking were in the video or my neighbors. Morning sativa and coffee slaps hard with a new video drop! Thanks for doing what you do brotha!
The best advice I learned on this video is when you see something you like don't just buy one thinking they'll be there in the future. Buy them all lol.
I really enjoyed seeing Victor's collection! He is into so many kinds of cacti and succulents and that's awesome! Thanks for the wonderful tour Hunter🤘🙏
Im still a rookie. But we are in a age of information we are learning so much faster than before due to books and internet and friendliness of fellow growers
Cool that Victor mentioned Planta Seca! I have several plants in my collection from William (based out of Walnut Creek). If you haven't toured his greenhouse....you should reach out and see if he'd let you!
@@CactusQuest Yup just like you I've been collecting many of the soft succulents for years but this channel really opened my eyes to the beauty of cacti and euphorbia
I don't wanna spam or anything, but we will have some cactus pottery coming out in the next month on our channel,... some rare cultivars of common species, that only grow in one local, dressed in hand dug, hand built, hand made, hand fired pottery... peep game on these steeloz... LOL!
Hey Victor, I just caught a golden barrel cactus I wanna make sure it has a good chance in surviving because I don’t do very well with plants. Can you give me the basics care of this cactus
2:25 Ants most likely moving eggs up to a warmer spot to incubate them. Sometimes they are harmless. I've lost a few plants to ants moving into a pot and messing up the roots. Nice collection of plants👍🙂🌵
I love to watch how is the plant care among the other cultivators. You always learn something new, like that hot nail method to get more growing points on your plant. Nice!
A had bought a plant marked variegated astrophytum and a few months later I realized I couldn’t find it and was questioning if I had even bought it. Turns out it had just turned back to green because it had been chemically induced! That explains why it was so cheap. It looked exactly like the pictures you showed where it was yellow at the creases.
Great collection! Tell this dude to “hook you up” with the legendary Mr Baso. A Cactus Quest video in Thailand interviewing him would be amazing. You will need a translator though, he barely speaks english. Greetings from Mexico City. Next time you are in Mexico, go to “Wirikuta” in San Luis Potosí. And Sierra Gorda in Querétaro, homeland of Strombocactus and Lophophora Diffusa
couldn't believe I wasn't already subscribed to your channel! great videos, with some amazing information being shared and lots and lots of beautiful cacti and alike. thanks dude! :) heads up all the way from brazil
Great question - hot nail method basically means you get a nail red got with a torch and poke it into the growing meristem of a cactus, this damages it which usually causes caespitose like offsetting which is cool particularly in cacti that are usually solitary
How funny I also started getting into succulents recently because I thought the same thing that’s a trippy plant I’m gonna buy it. Also I ran into this before trying to find a recipe for my soil mix currently 1 of my succulents is drying idk why help please
Y'all I need help with soil mix for my soon to be raised garden bed in humid tropical FL weather. Is there anybody who has experience with this type of climate? I'd like to hear from people regardless. The garden bed is going to be about 16 inches tall and it's going to be 225 sq feet. We don't have access to large quantities of pumice, but we have lava rock, gritty sand, gravel, and peat moss.Watering would not be an issue for me. Thoughts? It's mostly going to have cacti and agaves. Thanks in advance!
You need somthing that will help with absorption and deainage, pumice works great for me. Regular lava rock doesn’t absorb. Coco coir will kind of do the same. Gritty sand stays wet too long for me.
I’m looking for a organic grown aloe vera barbadensis miller, another thing is I’ve been doing some research and I’ve come to the factor that aloe Vera is because they were bred specifically for their gels in the 60s 70s and 80s they no longer produce seeds whatsoever. My big concern is I’d like to grow them from seed because otherwise you’re just getting clones, but the only possibility I can think of is tracking down the plants they used in order to make the hybrid and start there. I’m also looking for a clone though because the seed thing is kind of out of reach. Do you know anybody that is organically growing them? There’s a lot of sketchy places I could buy one but I’d like somebody that’s a little more trusted.
At one point I couldn’t tell if the dogs barking were in the video or my neighbors. Morning sativa and coffee slaps hard with a new video drop! Thanks for doing what you do brotha!
Funny you mention that, my dogs all ran outside when they heard the dogs in the video. They never miss the opportunity to bark at another dog lol.
It was my neighbors that just moved in
Backyard tours are my favourite Cactus Quest subgenre.

big facts
Love Vivtor's demeanor, so chill and no ego despite his amazing collection.
His greenhouse is so well organized and I like how all his pots are matching.
He’s been doing this since 2018!? He’s dropped 1000’s…ss in 5 years.
I don’t blame him, I’m right behind him haha.
Victor is so down to earth. I'm glad that I bought 2 beautiful Ariocarpus from him. "Funkandelic" 🌵
Thank you brotha
The best!
More tours! They are great!

I def wanna go
At 17'05" the tubinicarpus species is Turbinicarpus jauernigii.
I need a closer look at that variegated, reverted Trich.
🔥🌵🌵🌵🔥
lophoporas are great
the one you asking about is turbinicarpus lophophoroids.
So clean and well kept cactus collection...why do we collect these plants?? I'm still asking the question to myself😂
It brings tranquility, teaches me patience, and the whole concept about, its better to be warrior in agarden than a gardener in a war.
couldn't believe I wasn't already subscribed to your channel! great videos, with some amazing information being shared and lots and lots of beautiful cacti and alike. thanks dude! :) heads up all the way from brazil
Моё ❤ среди Ваших кактусов😊

How did he bring the over on his trip? I'm curious to know.
give us rough soil advice please! i want to start collecting but theres so much conflicting info about soil on cactus
Where do you live, how much do you want to water?
@@Theoasisgardens i live in west texas.. i have no idea what the watering schedule should look like.

Can’t understand what hot nail method is. Why and how it’s done. It’s something new in cactus hobby
Great question - hot nail method basically means you get a nail red got with a torch and poke it into the growing meristem of a cactus, this damages it which usually causes caespitose like offsetting which is cool particularly in cacti that are usually solitary
He started the collection at the end of 2018? Don’t let my hubby see this video or he’s going to panic about me and my still little cactus family😅
can you do a tour in your personal greenhouse? Thanks
What is the species name of al the almost spineless cacti with the white caps you see in the first half of the video? Melocactus.......?
I was hoping he'd talk a bit about them.
Melocactus maxonii inermis. Only buy them if they are rooted. Nearly impossible to root once roots are cut off
How funny I also started getting into succulents recently because I thought the same thing that’s a trippy plant I’m gonna buy it. Also I ran into this before trying to find a recipe for my soil mix currently 1 of my succulents is drying idk why help please
Where do you buy your Pumice?
I have a number of cacti but get very few blooms .how to increase blooms .
Cameraman: you passed right over the lithops
I hope you would visit South Africa and other African Deserts to show how Andromischous grow in the wild
I would love to do that - its def in the plans for future Episodes
What is that one looking like it has a orange 🍊 on the top?
hi bro what kind of substrate do you have??? CLAY OR LAVA???
Dogs would drive me mad

Love your videos on cactus but had to forward the first part due to barking dog 🤬 lol
What drilling means?
The real underground
The feeling of my decade old collection compared to what he's drummed up in half that ☠️
someone give that dog a walk !
🤣😂🤣
