    Did you love this vid, how about buying me a coffee:

    This video compares the Stihl FS 250R and the FS 130R Trimmers, and also compares the Two stoke vs the Four Stroke. Matt goes over the specs on each, the differences between the two trimmers, the application for both, and then he gives you a demonstration of both units!

      +Discovering His Way I have a stihl Fs 250 Still going very strong and has for 14 years of clearing and trimming fence lines at my moms horse stable. It is a beast and is not for a first trimmer. Almost feels turbocharged and under boost at full throttle but yes on the lower rpm speeds it is mellow enough to trim the lawn.

    Hey Matt, I am waiting for my FS240 (FS250 is no longer available) to arrive and your video was pretty awesome man. To be honest I was worried that the big 240 would only be useful for clearing brush, but thanks to your vid I am even more excited as you made it clear that the 240 would be useful for flower beds and areas requiring a more delicate touch. Also explains why trimming the flowerbeds has been so difficult with my 4 stroke trimmer.
    Love your energy- you should be in sales if you aren't already. Great video and thanks for taking the time to upload it!

  • @mountfields
    @mountfields 4 роки тому +8

    The four stroke only sounds slower because you only hear the power stroke every other stroke of the engine, set up correctly you can feather the four stroke throttle just like the two stroke....

  • @SandraSantos-rp6yl
    @SandraSantos-rp6yl 4 роки тому +2

    Your absolutely correct, the 4 stroke thrives on high rpm due to the piston firing every other stroke where the 2 stroke fires every time the piston reaches top dead center, however, the 4 stroke is quieter and cleaner, the 2 strokes are notorious for unspent gas hence the muffler is always clogged with oil.

    My experience with the 4 stroke is that you can slow it down perfectly fine. Not on the rpm side, but on the power side. With less gas the rpm will be almost the same, the engine sound will be almost the same, but the power isn't. No disadvantages at all, just harder to dose the power based on sound and rpm. You can only trust on the gas handle which can be a little harder to do.

    • @matthewbeaver5026
      @matthewbeaver5026 2 роки тому

      Yea though that can be hard on the 4 mix if you do it to often at to long of stretches. Can starve the valves of lubrication.

    Good Job brother! We run 85's (since discontinued) 110's and 130's. never ran a 250 but you're right, Raw power on the 130's. The way around the tulips and tight areas is feathering the trigger. That keeps the rpm's low.

I've got the KM-130 because I use a bunch of attachments around the house and church. I would love to have the 250 as a Kombi unit with the FS94 trigger system. Right now I use a screwdriver to raise the idle speed when I want to use an intermediate speed on the 130. It's such a hassle. I hope Stihl hears our plight.

    I used stihl for 20 years dedicated Stihl customer, bought 4 130s 3 years ago. Rented 1 husqvarna 535 ls on a big job last year . I switched to all husqvarna middle of 2014 . Better power to weight , not even close in comparison fs110 to husky 525lst. husky is cheaper too. Stihl has lost customers with the 4 mix vs true 2 strokes . Main reason they had to come back out with a true 2 stroke in the fs 94 which is a pretty good trimmer . But not enough to change the fleet on 20 + plus pieces of equipment. With fleet pricing Husqvarna can't be beat. Not the cheap stuff at Lowes but the actual professional series. I'll be husqvarna until something comes along better. Stihl needs to get their act together.

      I own the KM 94 R, it is great! and lightweight. It has plenty of power trimming, with heaver duty stuff like cutting through heavy grass, or cutting down trees it is a bit under-powered but it will still get the job done, just takes a little longer. The KM 94 R has a solid shaft too, while the FS 94 R has the flex shaft

    The carb on your FS130 is not properly adjusted, on mine I can easily adjust the speed and it goes higher in the revs

    I own the handlebar version of the 130. with the right carb adjust and maybe a bit less ""ENERGY"" it feathers down just fine. the power is more than enough for anything you can put in front of it.

    It can get it on but it cannot get another one knocked up. Stihls are my favorite weedeaters they got power to spare. And most of them are dirt cheap on gas. I don't have either of these I got that Straight Shaft FS 65 RC its a nice weedeater its easy to start and ready to roll.
