Most of this year i've been getting 2-3 hours sleep most nights. I knew it was from being overweight and having bad posture. Once I fixed those 2 things my sleep went back to 7-8 hours perfect sleep.
What foods make you feel fueled up to surf and what foods do you eat post surf? Is there any go to snacks when your travelling vs at home.

3:12 this is 100 percent true. when you start stressing about the fact that you cant get to sleep that makes it 10 times worse. you just have make yourself not care and stay calm.

Flying from Bali back to Miami wrecked me for almost 3 weeks.
I always wonder how these guys travel and deal with the changes and seems like they are so natural at it. I could do it when I was younger and it’s harder as you get older. I guess misery loves company because it’s nice to hear that a great athlete like JJF thinks about it and sometimes struggles. I got to surf with him once! Also, nice espresso machine!
Thought i was the only one that would do pillow hunts. Lol.

What about sleeping positions? I’m a side sleeper and it occasionally causes shoulder/back soreness

the ice bath will raise your internal core temperature as your body warms you back up. Recommend skipping that step
Unless you actually speaking from experience, I think you're wrong. There is definitely something in our make-up that makes us go to sleep when changing from cold to warm. I use the same trick when can't sleep, get cold as possible then the warming up when you jump into bed helps put you too sleep. Think snuggling under a warm blanket when it's cold, how good is that feeling... zzzzzz

No, the original comment is correct. It works in reverse. When you get in hot water your body begins to cool its internal temperature to counteract the heat. When you get in cold water your internal temperature starts to rise for the same reason. That’s why it’s recommended to do ice baths to wake up and extend your internal clock/raise your body temperature. Hot baths at night to relax for sleep and cool your internal temperature. Signaling to your body it’s time for sleep.
Yes thats correct ans aligned with the science. That being said some people sleep well after an ice bath , you can get into a parasympathetic stage after the plunge if you're in warmth and comfort etc
It also helps being in great shape and zero worries about finances and living in amazing Hawai’i. Throw a bunch of life in there like parents with terminal diseases and more and sleep becomes way harder than tea and magnesium. Ugh

JJF can manage his sleep ... but can't manage a bowl of bananas! Throw them in the fridge before they get the brown spots.
uneducated comment, you are probably not living connected to nature and just buy bananas from walmart. they are the best when they start having brown spots and storing them in the fridge make them taste bad.

I would sleep good if I didn't work/ had no job other than surf in perfect conditions with my friends and family. Dude I'd sleep like a baby every night 💤💤 that is the dream WTF ?
