Casting a vote here for a D&C history video 🙌 Justin, This was an excellent video, thank you for making and sharing it. I learned a lot
Justin you're a legend - can't fathom the work you've put into this. Thank you for documenting history!
By no means are we mad about this. Good job J man!
Dude, thats a massive coverage done! Great discovery
9:06 is that a Two Rock combo?! Interesting 🤔
Amazing work Justin. Love this video.
Yeah also wondered that
Epic to say the least- I would absolutely watch the Dead and Company video!
ok, I think an 1:10 hour video is a good starting point to introduce John Mayer's overdrive history lol. Thank you so much, Justin. Keep up the great work!
Defenitely would love to see a similar video on D&C tones
...and I appreciate you, too. That was a FABULOUS walk-through. So much time, effort, energy, and love for creating smart content. #Cheers
I think another research about his TS9DX tones would be intriguing.
The man is backkkk
Thank's, what a great job you did! 😮
John got some really high gain tones back in the day, especially during the Heavier Things era. Check out "Back to you" from Austin City Limits or "Come Back to Bed" from the Max Sessions. I wonder if it was Rene who got John to dial back the gain.
9:06 is that a Two Rock combo?! Interesting 🤔
Amazing work Justin. Love this video.
Side note - can you imagine the insane waiting list King of Tone would get if JM started using the latest KoT version?! Currently it’s 4-5years 😅…
I like pedals so I watched some of this. First time I’ve really heard his playing. Expected a lot more for all the hype
Yes please do the dead & company video
Thanks for being a damn legend king :)
3:53 I forgot just how much JM had SRV’s tonal inspiration back in the day. It’s been a long time since I’ve heard this.
Hey Justin, nice job! I recently saw the video of JM in 2005 soloing at Farm Aid with Buddy Guy. I thought the tone was really interesting. Do you think that was just TS and slapback delay?
Dead & Co. Hx? Yes please!
Would love to know if anyone on here knows exactly what pedals and order for Belief at the Hollywood Palladium.
For me that is the ultimate tone. So powerful
It's absolutely impossible to say unless we find footage of John stepping on it. I can only theorize it was TS10-Centaur-TSV in that order
@JustinJeske OK cool thanks for the reply mate. In regards to the amp. Obviously the Dumble and JM Signature Two Rock are so expensive.
What Two Rock amp would cover that tone from their range?
TIA
I've always wondered why his pedal switcher shown during the Premier Guitar Rig Rundown says "Kantana" instead of "Katana". That's gotta be on purpose.
when did he switch to providence chrono?
Is it time for a John Mayer ERAS tour? Comment down below.
Out of interest any idea what power supply he's using on the smaller modern boards 2022-2023?
22:58 he's channeling his inner Clapton.
The menatone refers to blonde early 60s fenders from blonde/brownface era.
