John admitted to having no one special in his life and his struggle of developing meaningful relationships in his advanced age and social status. As a John Mayor fan, this is the most vulnerable I’ve ever seen this man.

@@TylerEubank When John sees a beautiful girl, he stops himself from asking her out because he knows from experience that he's only interested in her looks and wants something genuine. It's easy for him to attract any young pretty girl but in his advanced age he knows it will most likely lead to something no so serious.

Advanced age? Jesus... Life expectancy nowadays is like what, 60 years old? Give me a break. A 42 year old person is a fully functional individual both physically and mentally speaking. Stop feeding this stupid Hollywood mentality were someone above 35 is old.

This interview is so adorable. I love the spark of brilliance that occurs on the regular with John Mayer, and it just bounces off Kerwin's playful personality perfectly and transitions into more gems from Mayer. I love the set and how Kerwin keeps picking up plastic burgers and bagels and pickles and stacking them like a child while John Mayer slowly becomes Kerwin's new therapist. I mean Mayer may be overly talkative and kind of a know-it-all who isn't ALWAYS on point but he does have a hell of a lot of wisdom and that wisdom is buried in his soul and in his music so I could listen to him speak in this environment for 10 hours straight with a childlike face of joy on my 26 year old scruffy face.

This is an amazing interview like I've never seen before with John Mayer. That being said, I'd like to make an observation: the main reason why the interview is so fluid is John leading most of the conversation, making Kerwin participate not as an interviewer but as a simple dude, chatting with another simple dude.
By all means I'm not saying that Kerwin is not a good interviewer, otherwise an hour an a half interview would not have taken place. Just making an observation so that those folks who dislike John understand that it was just a phase and not at all his real essence. THIS is John Mayer, just a human being who got a LOT of attention, broke (kinda) bad and then took his time to humble himself, continuing to develop his passion without bothering anyone else but himself inside a studio.
No one asked for my opinion, but I'd say this guy is already a legend.
