I think it’s from the Stafford tournament and someone in the comments asked him to name every chapter “Another Stafford”, which he did, and he remembered/decided to do it again this time. Love Eric
@@milosconster2935 I like watching them too, the only reason I can play positional positions is because of eric's vids lol. It's more fun than open positions imo where the bishop pair/good rooks mostly just win everything
You mean, let me understand this cause, ya know maybe it's me, I'm a little fucked up maybe, but I'm funny how, I mean funny like I'm a clown, I amuse you? I make you laugh, I'm here to fuckin' amuse you? What do you mean funny, funny how? How am I funny?
The game starting at 11:45 followed Nakamura vs Svidler from 2013 move for move until 7. O-O. In that game Nakamura played Nd2 instead of castling. Eric has incredible memory, wow. The game ended in a draw with both sides with queens on the board, white has a rook and 3 pawns, black has a bishop and 2 pawns.
so funny that you didn't recognise that you were completely winning in the first game. you were afraid that white simplifies into an endgame while you were literally 4 points up in material lol
30:58 I'm shocked a 1600 missed that tactic, especially as they had enough time to mull that position over while Eric was flustered. But I understand how challenging it is to play against an IM
Eric may be able to remember a million different traps in the stafford gambit but he seems to always forget that lichess will show you the point difference between players
I just looked up the varuation of the first game and after black castles the engine suggests to sack to queen for the Bishop and then capture the Knight with the Queen Such a dinamic position
Watching so many of your videos, it’s good to see that you’re human. I was wondering after watching 17 video series where you won almost 50 games in a row. I’ve learned more from you than any other chess tutors online because you actually show how it’s done. Thanks bro I appreciate you.
1:00 first game: how about Qxb6 axb6 Kxf2?? Engine says it s quite equal but 4 pieces for a queen I think it s easy to play as white gains a quicker development, ends black attack The only drawback other than losing a queen is giving black a semi open file for the rook. Am 1600 though haha
Just wanted to say that your my favorite chess youtuber/streamer and i watch your videos everyday not only bc I love them but also bc I'll need to beat my physics teacher in a chess game to exonerate my final exam, keep up the good work! love from Paraguay

In game 1, is there a funny "line" on move 9, Qxb6 axb6 Kxf2? I think it might work out. Alltough you are very undeveloped, and might get attacked and could be dead lost? But quite dont see it
This is my main opening for white, and most of the players don't know how to deal with the opening. This is not good for me, this video shows how to approach to Ponziani, and I will not have all my traps and tricks😔
That first game was insane
Yeah that was pretty crazy!
And the third game was brutal.
RIP Hyruhero.
Yeah!
Yeah thats a good move.... wait NO ITS NOT! IM WINNING!
Second game fell short
Eric Rosen: uploads.
Me: Oh no, my homework!
hahahaha
definitely a reasonable gambit
lmaoo same
yeH same rn 😭😭😭
Parental approval gambit
The lord of comedy named every match in this video “another Ponziani”. Simply exquisite
He did this in Hikaru's Stafford tournament as well upon request
Ahaha I was looking for someone who noticed it too 😂
I love how all the chapters are just "Another Ponziani"
I think it’s from the Stafford tournament and someone in the comments asked him to name every chapter “Another Stafford”, which he did, and he remembered/decided to do it again this time. Love Eric
I just love that Eric is always eager to play a risky gambit, instead of going into a boring positional war of attrition.
Positional wars are fun
@@peep2268 I agree, more fun to play than watch though I think
@@milosconster2935 I like watching them too, the only reason I can play positional positions is because of eric's vids lol. It's more fun than open positions imo where the bishop pair/good rooks mostly just win everything
In the future he will be known as the modern godfather of the gambit and bait
@@ianmoore5502 or in other words: "Oh no, my bishop!" 🤣
I'm still not sure if Eric discovering every week that Lichess tells him how many pieces he's up/down is a running joke or a real thing
I think he legit forgets as i do
Hahaha every fuckin time
I looked in the chapters, don’t know what I expected.
@M.T Beats another ponziani
Every body gangsta until
" there's a funny line "

It’s super weird facing people playing the Ponziani who don’t know any lines. You get moves you’ve never seen before.
so funny that you didn't recognise that you were completely winning in the first game. you were afraid that white simplifies into an endgame while you were literally 4 points up in material lol
@Sticky Baseball that's true... but in this particular case he WAS better, as he himself acknowledged later on. he simply miscounted the material
30:58 I'm shocked a 1600 missed that tactic, especially as they had enough time to mull that position over while Eric was flustered. But I understand how challenging it is to play against an IM
My favorite part in the video was the Ponziani game
Eric may be able to remember a million different traps in the stafford gambit but he seems to always forget that lichess will show you the point difference between players
6:54 "I'm just completely winning." This guy is hilarious. So deadpan. So nice. So gracious. So ruthless.
These thematic tournaments are a great idea. Would love to see a scotch gambit, evans gambit or Smith morra gambit tournament next!
Game 1 was intense, Eric is so good at chess
I just looked up the varuation of the first game and after black castles the engine suggests to sack to queen for the Bishop and then capture the Knight with the Queen
Such a dinamic position
Awesome! More of these, please. Trying to learn the openings and this is perfect for it!
I love Eric's personality

Ponziani is great because it's different but somehow familiar.
18:16 swear to God thought he said "I'm not sure how many Sugondese viewers I have"
Rosen Columns - Rows and Columns
Hi Eric, at 36:54 you missed mate in 2! ha ha :)
Omg I thought I was hallucinating bc there's no way he just missed that and no one was pointing it out
My cat falls down the stairs all the time 😭
oh no your cat!
Amazing first game!
22:10 A lot a great potentional to attack the black Queen, but its the King there :DDD Man im dying, keep the good stuff, Erica
Surrendering that fork in the first game would have been my 13th reason

That catterpillar was so funny 😂
This is actually very helpful to the community. Specific opening so we can actually build a repertoire for it and practice
Very instructive games, keep doing more thematic tournaments please.
Big fan of this type of video definitely do more please :)

I expected him to hear my call but man that 's an overkill😂

All dutch people be like
FIENTJEDEPOES xD
Great video. While Stafford makes perfect sense to me, I am struggling with Ponziani. Nice to see this many live variations.
13:56 Eric goes full Hikaru 🤣🤣🤣
nts: 17:00
18:14 great to see some sugandese representation in the chess world, thanks Eric 🙂.
يا زووول
isn't that a free pawn, queen tackes e4 at 4:00 ?
I'm probably missing something
Lmao 31:40 free win and a free rook for the 1600 thats a baka mitai highlight for the next baka mitai clip
During game one I was screaming “Is this theory?!”
Every time Eric says "there's a funny line..." I laugh so I'm not left out... but I don't get the joke.
What an awesome first game, that was super interesting!
When Eric calls a line funny:

0:32 Why didnt black fork white with knight F2, gaining a rock? I always use that trap, but never used the bishop just to give a check..
Knight f2 allows Qd5. bishop has to retreat black saves the rook while forcing a queen trade and blacks king will be stuck in the center of the board
@@mattr791 you're right, I missed that because I always have D6 there to protect the bishop.
Mainline is, knight forks, then Qd5, knight takes rock, then pawn d7 with check, then queen takes bishop
And with that you trade a rock for a night and a bishop, and in the future you will probably win the other night too
I remember playing in this tournament
13:55 for elegant arrows and "takes"
At 10:06, instead of pushing the pawn he could have gone to F8 to fork the rook and the king.
It's the future - where are your thematic tournaments? We need more! Closed Sicilian, Caro Kann, Dutch!!!
I got an hour long ad about how dangerous it is to eat cashews... Anything to support Eric
1st game was " game of the year 2022" in my opinion.
"Not your typical ponziani"
5:01 eric being hikaru lmao
Would love to play/see a King's gambit accepted tournament
The first game was super intense! Wow
The last opponent was super booked up - just snapping off the first several moves
Oh thats a good move
*OR IS IT*
Thank you for showing your bravery
10:42 - Can someone explain the perpetual draw?
time stamps are gold
First game had so many back and fourths
10:06 opponent could have played Qf8+ winning Eric’s rook.
I saw the title and wondered if we'd get to see a Vukovic Gambit in this video. It didn't take long for me to find out that the answer is yes! :D
The one with the rooks was hard to calculate. It was almost a mirror.
21:58 rd4 for instead of e5?
imagine being 1600 and seeing IMEricRosen as ur opponent. i'd freak out like an eric playing a magnus
13:52 Eric's line refuted
Up-a-pawn: the chess enthusiast's grey poupon alternative. Great on sandwiches.
24:11
The extremely rare 90 degrees rook fork
66. move black made a blunder. Winning move against you was Qf8+ and then eat rook in next move.
I still find it funny that the bong cloud is a thing now haha.
31:40 oh nooo, the opponent must have been so upset. D: Poor guy.
oh yo!! I got clapped in this!!!
That first game Eric was playing like a genius and then like a 4 year old haha
around 3:45 why not take d4? what am I missing?
nvm found it nf2
Eric turned milk into butter in that game against the 1600 guy
first game was so intense
I liked the themed tournament!
A whole ponziani guide 👍
Wow, your so good at Dutch, you started talking about cats when your opponent was called "fientjedepoes". Poes means cat in Dutch

Update on depth 19 Stockfish gives Qxb6 as the best move. Disappointed in @Eric Rosen here, not finding the funny line Kappa Kappa
I haven't found the "Ponziani Scheme" joke yet. But I will soon
The Rosen columns = rows and columns
was Qf1 winning for black on move 66? (game 1)
Would a Ponziana scheme, be an accurate description? Sorry Mate, I could not resist.
How is Eric’s game already analysed? Is this because he uses stockfish NNUE? Usually I have to wait for the server to analyse.
What's up with the clock? Am I missing something?
Description 😂
Game 1 - Bongziani

how do tournaments work on lichess
